The hotel was amazing when you walked into the lobby, because of the interior and the view of the pool. However, that's where it stops. The room wasn't cleaned properly, the bathroom was out dated, toilet was broken,towels were never in the room after they cleaned, it got returned to you in the late afternoon. They speak minimal English so getting things […] understood is a challenge. There is no "gym" unless what they call a dark dingy room at the back of the hotel in the basement with some loose weights and a bicycle a gym. The "spa" was next to the "gym" with similar features. Hotel is average, if you are expecting a outstanding 5 star don't go here. Like all the other reviews I agree it is more like a 3 star. Hotel is in a great location, walking distance to all the sites! Rooms are big and clean but need a bit of a revamp. On arrival a lot of things were missing from the room, only one glass and bath robe, no hand towels, […] and no toiletries, by the next day, these had all been replaced. Also toilet did not flush properly and no tea/coffee facilities in the room. Hotel was very very quiet and lacked atmosphere, a lot of staff standing around doing nothing. Pool area was very nice, but water was cold! Bar area was also empty and a lot of choices on the menu not available. "Royal Mirage, not 5* but still lovely"
The hotel building itself is gorgeous; quite grand and impressive. The pool area is wonderful and very quiet. We spent a couple of days relaxing around the pool, soaking up the sun but trying to get anything to eat is a serious battle. They staff were very friendly but quite useless, seemed to be 5 staff per hotel guest but it still took 20 minutes […] to get a menu each time we ate from the tiny selection. One lunchtime we were in the dead restaurant for 3 hours waiting for them to bring anything edible. One 80% raw salmon fillet and a seafood tagilitelli without seafood (pasta and grated cheese) was very disappointing, however the carbonara was lovely. The reception staff giggled between themselves each time we were there and didn't seem interested in answeing any questions we had about the area or anything for that matter. To summarise: Beautiful hotel, the building is 4/5* but I'm not sure how they got that rating as there are no facilities apart from the pool and the services is pretty dreadful. We did enjoy our stay as Marrakech is wonderful and we went for a few days relaxation but the frustrations of getting anything to eat or drink would mean that I would choose another hotel next time. The comfort of the hotel was a overall nice experience. But service was NOT five star standard. The female receptionist spent talking on the phone, then with the guests problems. Morocco was dirty place, unsafe if you are females travelling together, i visited oct 2010 with my female cousin and as part of the tourist thing we went to the souks and we were followed by local men putting us at ease. The stall holders tried to take advantage of the fact it was 2 females and the ladies in the market area were trying to draw hena […] tatoos all over us... not inpressed!!!! the streets were dirty and pathments broken. We were stared at every where we went so we were there for 5 days and spent of of them in the hotel..... L’hôtel est tous à fait correct pour ce nombre d’étoiles, il a déjà quelques années mais a été conçu de façon luxueuse, mais son gros problème est qu’il y a une discothèque au pied de l’hôtel. La discothèque semble être quasiment en plein air, résultat, musique de minuit à 6 heures du matin non stop, même pour les chambres éloignées. Je vous conseille […] donc de vous endormir avant minuit en espérant ne pas vous réveiller à 3 heures du matin, car votre nuit s’arrête là. Autre surprise, lors de notre arrivée nous avons dû déposer une caution bloquée sur carte de crédit de 800 Dirhams, soit 80 EUR, bon à savoir si vous partez un peu « court ». Nous sommes partis hors saison, en novembre, donc il n’y avait pas de bar d’ouvert en journée et l’hôtel s’en trouvais presque désert. Nous avons aussi eu un problème de chauffage dans tout l’hôtel, il faisait assez froid la nuit et la matinée. Il se trouve à +- 10 minutes de l’entré de la Médina, à l’extérieur des remparts. Wir haben das Hotel aufgrund des guten Preis-/Leistungsverhältnisses gebucht. Leider wurden wir enttäuscht. Die Zimmer waren teilweise nicht sauber (Toilette, Badezimmer). Von einem Hotel mit 5 Sterne Standard […] erwarte ich im Zimmer mindestens.: 2 Flaschen Wasser bei Ankunft, Kugelschreiber, Briefpapier, luxuriöse Toilettenartikel etc. Dies alles war nicht vorhanden. Wir wollten in eine Junior Suite wechseln (gegen Aufpreis), es wurde uns jeden Tag versprochen, aber schlussendlich nicht eingehalten. Das Frühstücksbuffet war ansprechend. Jedoch fehlte es am Service. Den Kaffee erhielten wir erst nach mehrmaligem Nachfragen. Von einem 5 Sterne Hotel erwarte ich, dass z.B. auch Cappuccino, Latte Macchiato, Espresso etc. serviert wird. "long week end au royal mirage de luxe"
cet hotel est censé etre la version luxe du royal mirage. Donc il ne s'agit pas du royal mirage (qui se trouve 800 metres plus loin dans le meme quartier). La localisation de l'hotel dans le quartier de l'hermitage est parfaite pour visiter gueliz et la medina. La piscine est magnifique, le hall décoré dans un style local charmant. Probleme recurrent […] au maroc, la maintenance du batiment n'est pas au top, donc cet hotel sera une ruine dans les 2 ans ... Par contre le service de restauration et de bar est totalement en dessous de tout... Pour un simple thé a la menthe, apres 17 minutes d'attentes, il a fallu redemander, attendre 10 minutes supplémentaires pour l'obtenir (donc 27 minutes d'attentes). Impossible egalement de commander une boisson fraiche alors qu'on est a la piscine, par contre on peut se rabiller, aller chercher un serveur caché dans la cuisine puis retourner a la piscine pour attendre 20 minutes un simple coca... En resume cet hotel facture le tarif d'un cinq etoiles, possede la localisation et les infrastructures d'un cinq etoiles, mais n'est pas au niveau d'un cinq etoiles pour le service. Bra hotell med en flott pool. Kjedelig frokost til å være et femstjerners hotell. Relativt dyr restaurant med middels mat. Bra rom, men alt for dårlig belysning. Betjeningen var hyggelig, men fullstendig handlingslammet når det oppsto problemer som skulle takles. Ikke mulig å få satt inn ekstra lamper på rommet. Etter at stuepiken overraskende fjernet […] sengepleddet, tok det 12 timer og fem purringer å få det tilbake. Resepsjonen var like overrasket hver gang vi purret. Trådløs Internett funket de første dagene, så ble det umulig å koble seg opp. Resepsjonen sto på at det måtte være vår pc det var noe galt med, selv om den funket alle andre steder enn på hotellet.
