"Good Service! Breakfast and gym could be better!"
Great location, great service. The breakfast buffet could be better. I stayed 4 nights and had the same breakfast 4 times. No variation. Also the gym was closed all week and it was not noted on the website. A bit unfortunate also that every time you want to leave the parking lot, you have to validate the parking ticket. Fairly new hotel, nice decor and atmosphere. We ate dinner at the restaurant and had the full breakfast buffet. Food was great and in the high average cost for a hotel. Skip dessert and opt for sorbet. From an American perspective, European bedding and bath linens always leave much to be desired. No washcloths in the bath and the duvet was extremely […] heavy. There are no top sheets or lighter weight blanket options. The bedding was the only drawback; we've learned to carry our own washcloths when we travel. The room and bath were clean and in good repair. There is a great deal of construction in the area but there were ample signs to lead us to the free parking at the hotel. Beautiful hotel. Caters well to families and serves a great breakfast. Rooms were very nice and clean. The only complaint we had is that it was extremely hard to figure out how to get into the hotel. "Get a back door!"
My only complaint is that the parking lot is located at the back of the hotel with no convenient entrance. You have to bring your bags up a hill and around the side of the hotel to the front door. "Convenient and comfortable"
The staff was helpful and the room was spacious and comfortable. Finding the entrance was like walking throuh a maze-thanks to the construction but they were upgrading the car park. The surrounding reminded me of a concrete office park. "Lovely hotel in the European (business) Quarter"
We enjoyed our stay at the Novotel Kirschberg - the staff (particularly Ellen) was very helpful to us & provided a city map & some really good advice on where to go, the bus numbers close by (1, 16 & 13) & how to walk to the city centre. We were travelling by train, so while there was not much info on the buses at the train statin, we'd checked online […] & knew the direction we were headed to Kirschberg. Our room was large with nice ensuite & couch & we enjoyed the space. Over the road from the Hotel is the Philharmonie & Museum of Moden Art that must be seen & highly recommend walking through the park & past Fort Thurngen into the city. The area is interesting as it is the main EU base but there weren't many local people around at any one time....which was a bit strange. While there are no restaurants or cafes near-by the Hotel it has its own restaurant & the mall at Kirschberg was handy & has everything you could need; huge supermarket, eateries & the bus along JFK (about 2-3 kms up the road) gets you right out front. "Room-service plates left in hall for almost 24h"
Overall, personal interactions with service personell were generally good - friendly, attentive staff that responded in a polite and professional manner. What was really a draw-back was that dirty plates from ordering food in the room were not removed from the corridor for almost 18 hours after eating. "Better than most"

Fantastic modern hotel in business district of Kirchberg .. twenty minute walk into old town or five minute bus ride .. buses run every 10 minutes cost 1.50 euro for two hours .. close to Mudam museum of modern Art, Grand Theatre, European Parliament and Philamahonic Orchestra building .. plenty of parking available .. some surrounding building work […] still evident but should not effect your stay in any way .. room was extremely comfortable .. restaurant and bar area served good quality food at reasonable prices .. taxi from train station to hotel should cost around 18.00 euro .. we would stay here again .. "Excellent Hotel"
A very modern hotel, everything is new and clean. Very comfortable rooms. The restaurant is excellent for breakfast and dinner, although it is a little expensive. The hotel is in the middle of a developing area so there is a lot of building work going on, new office blocks and hotels being constructed. The hotel is next to the J.F.Kennedy Boulevard […] and there are frequent buses into the main part of the city. "Novotel Luxembourg"
While the location says 0.6 miles from the city centre, this is a little misleading. It's located in a what seems to be new business district, which is outside the city centre, and walking is not straightforward due to the city's road layout. Finding the hotel presented a challenge as the only road our satnav preferred was blocked due to construction […] work, and signposting put up by the hotel was poor, especially at night when we arrived. Apparently this was due to the local council not allowing more signs being put up, and we were not the only guests that were struggling with this as confirmed by staff. The car park was still under construction and therefore pretty dirty (the carpets in my car were in a right state after we drove away), and the ticket had to be validated in another building, but at least it was included in our hotels.com rate (which I had to mention to staff, otherwise we would've gotten charged for it). While the room was large and very comfortable (the hotel seems brand new), we found hairs in the bathtub, which we raised to reception when we left for town. This was almost rectified but some hair remained which was unfortunate, although we didn't complain about this again when we returned later that night. Service was friendly but not very helpful - we asked for an area in the city where we could still get some food and have a drink (it was about 10pm), so the concierge suggested the Clausen area, apparently only 10 Euros by taxi. 20 Euros later we arrived at a hip/trendy nightclub district, which is not what we asked for - plus the 'real' city centre was a good 20 minutes walk away (up a steep hill). We should've done more research in advance and not rely on hotel staff - lesson learned.
