This is not really a four star hotel, but a good three star. The staff are very eager to please, but many are not too good with English. They continuously pushed us to use taxis and we had to insist that they give us instructions for using buses and subway. They advertise free internet, but they actually charge about $20 per day. Hotel provided a good experience. Location was great as there were a lot of choices to eat downstairs during the weekday but on the weekends you really need to walk a bit to find an open restaurant but at least you still have the 3 convenience stores downstairs and the Starbucks as a last resort. Also nice to have a direct stop on for the airport bus. Great staff! They were incredibly helpful. Great location for the Namdeamun Mkt and Myeong-dong Mkt. The hotel condition was very good for a Ramada Hotel. Slept like a baby every night. The room was very nice and the location was excellent for sightseeing many parts of Seoul (Jung-go) in particular. However, we had problems with the hot water 3 times during our 5 day stay they had to send someone up to reset something in order for us to have hot water. "In the center of it all"
Overall it was an excellent choice in terms of location and friendliness of staff. The room was a small for a suite, breakfast was not included and there was no swimming pool. A big negative was not having free wifi in the room. If you wanted free wifi you had to go to the lobby. On the second night of my stay the air conditioning was rattling so badly […] I had to turn it off, which then made room too hot. I did report it the next day and it was promptly looked at, but no problem was found. The next night it was fine. I did hear another customer complain about the same thing. Large, spacious rooms. Even have a kitchen with two burner stove, medium size refrigerator and a one unit washer/dryer. Room and staff are very good but WIFI was a problem. somebody needed to come twice as the modem was not working properly and it only works in the room not in the rest of the hotel. Front desk staff were very spot on with their directions. Their command of English is above Korean standards. Hotel is walking distance to 2 major metro stations-City Hall and Seoul Station. The staff at this hotel are very friendly and willing to help. Most speak English. In fact, this is the only hotel I've stayed at in Seoul that has foreigners-only taxis. One driver I had told me all about his vacation to Maryland. The hotel is within walking distance to Namdaemun Market and the metro, and if you're up for it, you can walk to Myeongdong. […] I have only two complaints: (1) skip the breakfast--it's not great, and you can get something better at Starbucks or Machebette, which are next door. (2) They gave me a smoking room even though I'd asked for nonsmoking, but I kept it because it was huge. You should know also that the beds are extra firm. "Better than expected"
My husband and I were frantically searching for a hotel in central seoul, on extremely short notice, for an adoption. I came across this one several times and liked it online. It was much, much cheaper than other hotels nearby. At check-in we got upgraded to a suite for free. The rooms were VERY clean and nice. Staff were super helpful. My only complaints […] are that the rooms were hot. We were just there in the end of March and it was snowing in Seoul, and we slept with the window open. The other thing I wished it would have had was a gift shop. No matter. There is a Family Mart right outside of the hotel that you can buy food, drinks and snacks. And there is a Starbucks right next to that. We ate breakfast there everyday for an average of $5 a person. Prices in Seoul are almost identical to what you would pay here in the states.
