This sprawling business, commercial, and entertainment center never lets up. It is a modern Japanese phenomenon with shopping arcades, flashing neon signs, stand-up noodle bars, and side-street video screens. Some two million people pass through the train station alone. Futuristic-looking City Hall offers a free observation deck with great city views.

"Shockingly large hotel room for Tokyo"
Hotel room was way bigger than we expected for Tokyo. It even had a mini kitchen. The only drawback is that the neighborhood around the hotel is a little boring. It's about a four minute walk from the subway and about a 20 minute walk from the JR Shinjuku station, which is the center of the Shinuku neighborhood.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Place to stay!"
We had two rooms for our family of four. One had a double bed and the other twin beds. The rooms were pretty large for Japan with a small kitchen in entryway and sitting area. Everything is cunningly fit in. Plenty of closet space, really good shower, toilet with all the gadgets, wifi for ipad in the room and lobby, and tea/coffee fixings and 2 complimentary […] bottles of water. The only downsides are the beds and pillows are really hard but I found that in all of Japan, not just here. Really well located. 7-11 store to get cash almost next door, Supermarket just 1/4 block away and the subway Shinjuku-gyoemmae is about 10 minutes or less walk away, down restaurant filled blocks. Recommend Shell Restaurant for good food in sort of a hole in the wall place. The staff at the hotel were really helpful. My birthday happened to occur while I was there and they gave me a gift bag of cookies and a card! Also, they gave directions and booked taxis when we asked. Good value. Really loved this place and would recommend it highly! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Hotel, Great Location... Shinjuku Gyomae"
We loved this hotel. Very courteous front desk staff and really nice rooms with half kitchen. We used the half kitchen to cook breakfast and make ramen from the 7 eleven downstairs, comes in really handy when you have two young hungry boys. The rooms are plenty spacious and have an extra pullout sofabed, which was nice. We had a little trouble finding […] the hotel from Shinjuku station as no one there was able to help us (very few speak English and if you have the directions in English, they have no idea). I should've brought a map of the hotel beforehand and not just the name and address. All in all a great stay! Use Shinjuku Gyomae station which is really close to the hotel (only 5 minutes a way). Shinjuku main station is a good 20 minute walk. Great job Citadines!!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Our stay in Japan"
We stayed in two location in Japan at two separate hotels. We enjoyed the location and quality of Citadines Shinjuku Tokyo and plan to stay there again on our next trip. We actually preferred it over the Hyatt.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Citadines Shinjuku /Tokyo"
Great room. So nice to have a kitchen area. Exceptionally helpful staff. Walking distance to subway (metro). Be sure to ask which subway exit has an elevator if you are arriving with luggage.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"comfortable and accessible"
We spent 2 nights at this great hotel, located about 5 min walk to subway station and about 15 min walk to Shinjuku Station. Very clean and quiet, would reccomend to friends. Great for the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A great hotel!!"
Do not hesitate to book accommodations at this "apart-hotel"--you will not be disappointed. Close to the subway, clean, quiet, plenty of utensils to make small meals--I can't fault one thing about the hotel. Much more comfortable than the usual boxy room at a hotel, and the ability to make small meals and store snacks/beverages is a big plus. Close […] to restaurants and convenience stores. When returning to Tokyo, I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Stay"
Not knowing where to stay in the vast expanse that is Tokyo I eventually landed on Citadines Shinjuku and booked based on location, price and previous good reviews. It was everything we expected. A bit of a trek from Shinjuku station but the Shinjukugyoen subway station is a short walk away & the hotel therefore served as a good base for exploring the […] city. The room was clean and well stocked with cutlery, crockery etc. & as it had room for a sofa I'm guessing it is a bit more spacious than most accommodation in Tokyo. Altogether a good experience to end a great trip to Japan. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good for families or long(er)-term stay"
Overall, our impression of this hotel was very favourable. It is modern, clean, and comfortable. We had a twin non-smoking room on the 2nd floor and our room was very quiet and spacious. We didn't even need the kitchenette, although it was a lovely option. Would definitely recommend it for families requiring the kitchenette, or for a longer-term stay […] in Tokyo. For us, it was just a little too far from Shinjuku Station, although a short walk from Shinjuku Sanchome Station or Shinjuku Gyoen Station if you take the Metro. We had a JR pass and didn't want to pay the extra fare to get to the hotel everyday, sometimes twice a day. If not for the distance from the closest JR station, this hotel is in a somewhat quiet neighbourhood, despite being on a fairly large and busy street. Wifi available in the rooms and lobby, which was very convenient. Don't bother paying for the hotel breakfast, it definitely wasn't up to par with most Japanese "continental" style breakfast buffets, if you can even call it that. Instead, walk over to the 7-11 on the corner and get something there, save your money. Thank you to the wonderful hotel staff for your diligent and efficient service, we very much enjoyed our stay at the Citadines. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"European Traveller visits Tokyo"
We enjoyed our stay in Citadines, we found the Japenese people very friendly and helpful. We had to use the train to see all the places we wanted to visit as the city is so big.The weather was also good so that was a bonus. European TravellerGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Hotel, Excellent Staff"
My sister and I stayed 4 nights at Citadines. Our room was very nice and it was bigger than I imagined. The bathroom was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. We arrived early and stored our luggage until check in. The staff were great. Always helpful and gave good ideas on where to go. They all spoke English well. It is located away from the […] noisy and crowded part of Shinjuku. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel"
Compared to some of the other hotels on offer in Shinjuku this is a very quiet hotel. Its a 10 minute walk from Shinjuku but if you dont want to be surrounded by skyscrappers or neon signs its worth it. The room was big and clean, one slight gripe is that the heating went off when you removed the room key so your room would be cold if you returned after […] a days sight seeing. Hotel staff spoke very good english and were very helpful. Rooms have free high speed internet (compared to UK) but not wi-fi. Take a PC and you are good to go. I would recommend this hotel and you can see why it has won tripadvisor awards. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Citadines - appart hotel"
+ very practical to have a small kitchen , feel a bit at home . + rooms are spacious - a bit far from metro station - rooms on road are a bit noisy but bright , the others have no view at all and bit dark but more quiet . - shampoo and cream can be improved (for a better quality ) - towels bit smallGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Citadine Shinjuku"
If 'Easyjet' styled hotels then they would look like Citadines! Seriously though, staff spoke good english, helped us arrange tours, hailed cabs for us. Room size is small but OK for Tokyo standard, sofabed was comfortable. Had to get a cab to another hotel for the Mount Fuji tour. Seven Eleven next door handy but Lawson 100 store a bit further away […] (100yen+5% tax) is cheaper. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Citadines Shinjuku Tokyo is a calming oasis"
Having stayed in a Citadines hotel in Kyoto we were looking forward to our stay in Shinjuku. We travelled as a family of 2 adults and 2 kids and we were given adjoining rooms. Whilst away from the hustle and bustle of Shinjuku we found the 5 minute walk ideal. All the staff were helpful in the extreme making many recomendations. We easily followed their […] directions to restaurants that continued our Japanese experience. Very easy to recommend this hotel Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A Great Stay"
The position of the hotel had been a complaint from other reviewers however don't let this put you off. There are two different metro stations within a short walk and lots to do at this end of Shinjuku. The main shopping area is about 10 mins away and there is a good selection of both restaurants and bars in the surrounding area. The rooms were a good […] size and the staff very helpful and friendly. The kitchenette is most useful and even though we didn't need to use the laundry it is helpful. There are some very good convenience shop about especially the Lawson 100 store were most things are 100 yen + tax (5 yen). Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Citadines Shinjuku Tokyo"
I chose Citadines Shinjuku because it was located in a vital part of Tokyo and because its description as an 'aparthotel' offered more space in what are most often extremely cramped Japanese hotel rooms. Citadines Shinjuku surpassed expectations on all fronts - not only was the space larger but it's location in a quieter but still connected part of […] the suburb made it a welcome retreat from the general Tokyo busyness. Local eateries were fine and offered good variety and we fell in love with isetan for everything it offered - especially great food. I wouldn't hesitate to return on my next Japan trip. "Tokyo Citadines is a great choice for families"
We loved this hotel, it was the best one we stayed in in Tokyo. The hotel itself was modern, clean and had great amenities including a laundry, internet, gym and great value breakfast buffet. We couldn't have hoped for better with the staff. They assisted us with directions to a baby and children's shop to buy food, nd were consistently knowledgable […] about how to get to various destinations. The staff washed our dishes for us while we were out as part of the house keeping service which was extremely helpful when traveling with baby bottles, bowls, spoons etc. Across the street there was a 24 hr bento box restaurant which we used on several occasions. There is also a 7/11 virtually nextdoor which we used for phone cards, beers and jars of sake! Very convenient. It's also very easy to get to other parts of central Tokyo like Shibuya. The bright lights and exciting sights of Shinjuku are only a short walk down the street, and as mentioned in a previous review the Isetan food court is an absolutely must as you can get everything from coloured macaroons to thai salads and sashimi. Overall, we loved this hotel and look forward to staying in other Citadines in other countries. They are onto a winning formula, and the price is very reasonable in comparison with other similar establisments. Stay here, you'll love it! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
