Shinagawa, in the last few years, has perhaps become the most important transportation hub in Tokyo--and the hotel is located right in front of the Shinagawa Station. So, the location is excellent. Ok, first of all you must realize in Japan Hotels are not like they are in the U.S. or other parts of the world. The rooms are smaller, the bathrooms are smaller, and pretty much everything is "Human Size". You could go out and pay an arm and a leg and get a larger accommodation in Tokyo, but for a very reasonable rate the Shinagawa Prince North tower […] was fine for my wife and I. We spent 11 of our 21 days in Japan here while on a concert tour of Japan and everything was fine. It's right across the street from the Shinagawa JR Train Station which is located on the Yamonote Line which in connects one with all the primary destinations in Tokyo and the Shinkansen (Bullet Train) which within a day can get you to most regions in Japan. The hotel complex has many restaurants, shops, it's own Seven-Eleven, a very interesting aquarium, an arcade, a bowling alley, a movie theater, and yes even a McDonalds for those less than adventurous foodies out there. So the amenities and location overcome any issues with the size of the room. Plus you are in Tokyo, so hopefully you will be out doing something besides setting in the room all day watching Sumo Wrestling. You basically just need some place to sleep, take a bath, and keep your stuff. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good deal in Tokyo. Read more

My stay was for 5 days at the North Tower. Considering the amount of international customers at the Hotel, I thought the service could've been more personal. Central location with a 7-11 convenience store next to the entrance of the North Tower. Many restaurants around the Hotel and good izakayas at the opposite end of Shinagawa station.

I stayed in the main tower and the accomadations were very good for the price. A BIG plus for me was the Airport Limousine transport directly to and from Narita as well as the location adjacent to Shinagawa Station. The hotel is convenient and well located for business travel- in addition to being value priced for Tokyo.

This hotel is conveniently located next to the Shinagawa station for easy access to any loction in Tokyo. It is completely acceptible with one problem. There is no wireless capability and a limited LSN cable capability...no vpn capability. if doing business on line...forget it.

The room was a typical small Japanese hotel room in the north tower of Princess Hotel. Don't go to Main Tower to check in. This is an affordable hotel just across the street from the central exit of Shinagawa Station. Rooms are tiny, especially if you get in the oldest, North Tower. Annex rooms are slightly larger. I've never been in the main building. Beds are really hard -- harder even than normal in Japan. I travel with a foam piece to help.

If you stay in East Tower or North Tower, I don't recommend this hotel at all. The room is very small, old and stinky. Even you don't have a space to open your suit case. Only if you stay in high floor of Main Tower or Annex Tower, this hotel is the perfect location, close to the main train station you can access to everywhere, beautiful view from the […] room and there are lots of restaurants inside and outside of the property. They don't provide free internet access, that means you have to pay extra $12 a day for in your room and another $6 for bublic space such as in a lobby area if you use your computer. There is some packages including breakfast or free internet service but it is more expensive than nomal rate. Read more

Very conveniently located. Easy to go to just about any destination. Lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Very good view of Tokyo Tower from my room on 29th floor. Room is clean and comfortable. Small by US standard, but OK for single. Only complaint: no free internet.

After 4 days at this disaster I switched to the Prince Grand Takanawa nearby which cost $25 per night more. After netting out free internet at the Grand Takanawa, the increase was $12 per night for a palace in a garden. These are both owned by the same company and within walking distance.

I stayed in the Main Tower, High Floor at the hotel. The room had a queen size bed. Room was clean, shower was great, bed was comfortable, elevators were prompt and AC/heat was quiet. The Shinagawa Prince was perfectly situated between both locations and right across from the train station which was extremely convenient to major attractions. We stayed in the East tower, which is the oldest of all the towers. The size of the room may come as a shock to western travelers not used to Japanese hotels. They are small (8x16 maybe), which includes the area reserved for the built in bathroom.
