Historically the district where feudal lords lived during the Tokugawa Shogunate, this area is now home to many global businesses, including Sony headquarters. It also holds Sengaku-ji Temple, the Hara Museum of Contemporary Art, and the city’s second-largest train station. West of the station is Takanawa, an upscale residential neighborhood.

The hotel is very clean, and the non-smoking room is definitely free from smokes. The only downside is, a bit far walk from the Shinagawa station (though hotel does provide free shuttle running between hotel and the station), and the furnitures are dated (except for TV). And, the walls seem to be a bit thin, which is expected for an older building/property. […] I could hear (but not clearly) people next door and also in the hallway, that I don't find when staying at a newer 'Prince' hotel like Prince Annex. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good hotel for business"
The air conditions are not working .it is only fixed to 22 degrees and cannot possible to change. There is no beverage in the refrigerator . You have to give an order to reception. The hotell staff is very friendly. Whenever they see you, they smile. Often they ask for your assistance. The outlook of the hotel inside and outside is good. it is near […] to shinagawa station by walk. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good location"
Very helpful staff-rooms are very small and the two hotels-Grand and New can be confusing when you check in.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Might want look at another hotel"
The breakfast was a bit pricy and wasn't all that great. We stayed at another hotel in Tokyo that had a much better breakfast buffet for less than half the price. The hotel is kind of old and it shows. However, we did like the gardens that is next to the hotel. I would not stay here again, though.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Grand Prince Takanawa"
Great staff, very helpful. The garden was magnificent. The hotel room seems a bit dated and the bathroom smelled of mildew. The free Internet in room was a cable connection, there is no free wifi. If u are looking for a more modern hotel, try the New Takanawa, which is next door.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good location close to Shinagawa Station"
It is an older hotel but clean and room's size is adequate for Japanese standards. It was a challenge to communicate with the reception staff because we were a group with 4 rooms and breakfast charges. Their English skills are not that great. The location close to Shinagwa Station is a big plus especially for those who use JR Pass. If we ever return […] to Tokyo we would probably stay there again if the price is right. "Needs Updating"
Room was comfortable, but in serious need of a major update. I felt like I was in an eastern European hotel in the 70's. Location is okay, a bit off the beaten path but close to Shinegawa Station. Understanding of English was minimal. I was told the room came with free internet. Wired internet, no wifi. I found that be be a bit dubious.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"OK for a few nights"
Nothing spectacular, but decent hotel for a few nights. 5 Minutes away from Shinagawa station on a hill, so hiking up there with a lot of luggage may be tiring.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Grand Prince Takanawa - Early Check In"
beware of early check-in in Japan - and the Prince hotels in particular. A surcharge will be required if you want to access the room before the 2 pm check-in time - even if the room is availableGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not 4 stars, and not worth the price"
The location is somewhat convenient (only a short walk from Shinagawa station), and the hotel room is quite roomy (we upgraded to a Garden View room), but the rest of the picture isn't so good. The air conditioning is noisy and unreliable, the room decor is still remiscent of the 1950s and 1960s, and the insulation is dated. This isn't a 4 star hotel, […] it's more like a 2 star hotel. Only the lobby feels like 4 stars, the rooms sure don't. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"3 DAYS IN SHINAGAWA ,TOKYO"
Had our 8th trip over to that incredible place Hokkaido for 12days,and then 3days at Shinagawa in Tokyo. Stayed with our dear Japanes friends in Hokkaido. Then stayed at the Grand Prince Hotel in Tokyo ,which was well serviced ,clean and suitable for our needs. The rooms are very small, when coupled with snow gear, two people and not being the smallest […] guy at 6'2 it was a tad tight, but still comfortable. It would suit folk like us who don't spend much of our time in the hotel room as such. So if you're looking to spend hours on end in your room, this may not be for you. Really lovely Japanese garden and grounds that run between the New and the Old Prince Hotels....would look even more amazing in Spring time. The Patio Cafe was very accommodating closing at 10pm or so,with the food not too bad and pretty much what you would expect in a cafe/restaurant . Really helpful and genuine staff from Reception to the little Top Hat wearing young lady's that great your vehicle, and do their very best to carry your baggage. Would recommend it to anyone, especially at that great Expedia room rate discount . Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Genuine Expedia guest review
