A desirably picturesque tourist haunt, Moorish-style houses cling to Positano’s steep hillsides. It’s a pleasant walk down to the small grey beach and fishing harbour via narrow, flower-decked alleyways and steps, but the return journey takes some effort (luckily there’s a bus). A domed church is Positano’s main landmark. The town celebrates the Feast of the Assumption on 15th August by re-enacting a famous victory against the Saracens.

Unfotunately, we were dissapointed with our stay at the hotel Pasitea. The location is good in Positano, within walking distance to shops and restaurants. However, the hotel is a bit outdated; the bathrooms are "yucky", with old tiles and mold on the caulking, grout, and on the floor. The rugs in the bedroom look dirty, and a covering blanket on the […] bed also looked old and in disrepair. The breakfast was good, although there is no fresh juice. "False advertising/ Bad location/ Ok room."
One of the sites mentions that Hotel Pasitea has a shuttle - they do not. The people behind us at check-in also selected the hotel for this reason and they said they never heard this. They also claim free internet. This is true if you have your own computer/ pda. They will not let you use their computer without a charge. One person at the front desk […] is friendly, the other 2 are not. At least in shoulder season, we didn't like the location. Too far to "center" of town and very few shops/ restaurants within a quick walk. If booking again, we'd stay east of the "center" and not "west" The positive was that the internal city bus stops right in front of the hotel and it's only a 10 minute walk (up stairs) to the bus that goes to other Coastal towns. "The Service Saved it.....Hotel Pasitea"
I would consider this hotel average at best. The rooms were sort of....sterile. Blinding white lights, white walls, kind of felt like a hospital room. AVERAGE at best in terms of the rooms. Luckily the bathroom was a decent size, and the terrace was lovely. "We got what we paid for."
The location was average but we got what we paid for. Service was the issue which let the property down, particularly at the reception desk. The staff were unprofessional and lazy. "Good hotel"
Hotel was well presented , the only issue was the aircon seemed to have some problem so we were rather hot during our stay ( June 2010) . Location was further away than we thought from the main beach but walking down was not a problem . To get back up to the hotel there is a small bus ride ( 1.50 euro) but these can be crowded and waiting can be 20-30 […] mins. There lots of restaurants nearby to the hotel so you don't have to walk down to the bottom if you don't want to. The hotel has some nice rooms with big balconies ( ask for floor 3) .The view is of the second bay in Positano not the main beach area but still very pleasant. Good value hotel for what we paid. Ekan yön jälkeen menimme kysymään missä poreamme joka luvattu, vastaus oli että huoneeseen ei kuulu sitä. Lisämaksusta sen kyllä saamme. Saimme hotellin parheimman sviitin jossa tämä oli. Globalement cet hotel plutot bien situé sur la cote amalfitaine accuse son age, notamment sur le plan du confort sanitaire.
