Very happy! We booked the standard room and then upgraded upon check-in to the superior room. We received a quiet, spacious and very modern room that was comfortable, stylish and accommodating. It proved to be a nice oasis after long days of walking through the city and crowded tours. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and a nice way to start each day. […] Although the neighborhood is not the best, it is ideal to Termini, the metro and major bus lines, and many sights are certainly walkable from the hotel. The only drawback was that we took an overnight flight from the US and arrived in Rome early in the morning; we were not able to move into our room until 2:00 PM. (Not sure if that is the hotel's fault, but keep in mind when booking your arrival time in Rome. They did, however, store our luggage for us). Overall, a great and relaxing stay...would do it again! "nice, modern hotel"
Una Hotel Roma was very nice and very modern. Totally impressed with fancy key mechanism (just hold hotel card up to scanner rather than inserting into door like most other hotels) and other electronic updates (remote controls on both nightstands allow you to turn off/on all lights without getting out of bed and also controls temp setting). Walk-in […] shower was huge! Good water pressure. Fancy closets. Strangely, no iron/ironing board in room. Bed was comfortable enough, although I prefer a firmer mattress. Hotel offers pillow menu but I didn't use that option. Speaker in bathroom allows you to listen to tv. Hotel has free buffet breakfast (serves warm foods, not just cheapo continental fare) but I had to depart before breakfast service started so they kindly packed a breakfast bag for me (2 beverages, apple, sandwich, cookies, etc = not skimpy at all!). We were there in late October. We felt the room was too chilly but the electronic thermostat wouldn't allow anything higher than 23 degrees Celsius. Am glad I had my friend to cuddle next to because otherwise I probably would have needed to sleep in my fleece jacket! Our particular room could have used some minor cosmetic maintenance (cracks in wall, scuffs from luggage, shower door trim was loose) but nothing that detracted from ambience of room. Wanted a hotel close to Rome Termini station for ease of transport to airport. This hotel was in great location for that purpose. However, there were the usual seedy characters loitering in vicinity so I wouldn't advise women to walk around at night alone. Other downside of location is it's very close to trolley rails so the trolleys kept me up at night for a little while. I was so exhausted from intense sightseeing that I didn't have that much trouble tuning out trolley noises but I can see this being a problem for light sleepers. We really enjoyed this hotel and it was extremely convenient in its location, great service, great hotel restaurant and comfortable room, but pretty small (very European). What we didn't like about the location was that though there were many restaurants around the hotel, much of the crowd was tourists. We did find it very useful though to be close […] to Termini station and within 15 minute walk to all main Rome attractions on the East side of the River. Picked this hotel for its close proximity to Termini--but that is really the only plus. The front desk staff were not very warm or welcoming. The room had paperwork from a prior guest left on the desk. Also, it was humid and a bit dusty in there. But, the worst part about it was not only did the bathroom did not have a bathtub (!) but the shower was […] really just a drain in the center of a 3 foot square tile area--with no wall or curb or any other structure to keep water contained in the area, save for a shower curtained blackened at the bottom with mold. As a result, you turn the shower on and it seeps all over the bathroom floor and towards the main room. At 5:45am, we were mopping up water. Ended up washing ourselves in the sink and bidet! The UNA is a new hotel in Rome which is close (about 1 block) from the train station - so very good location if you need access to buses, trains, etc. This area has access to good restaurants and you can walk to many of the tourists sites or take a bus (the buses are actually very good - I preferred them to the Metro.) "Modern Oasis"
Hotel Una is a great hotel for those traveling to Rome via train or connecting through. We stayed for 2 nights on the return leg of a trip through Tuscany and then Venice. After the old-world charm of the hotels there--which were wonderful--it was nice to have a big, ultra-modern hotel room w/king sized bed, lots of space, and a luxurious bath. Location […] was great for us, arriving by train (though we did have to look closely to see the "mod" signage for the hotel). We were able to walk to the coloseum and other sights, and easily catch the subway and buses (subway/bus pass 4 euros a day unlimited). Soaking tub was fabulous after days trekking, and the breakfast spread has to be seen to be believed (we had breakfast included in our rate--highly recommend). We opted for the hotel-arranged private shuttle to the airport for 45 euros, including our luggage. The fact that our flight was very early, and that it was a private minivan and ease of getting bags to our flight made it worth the cost. If you only have one bag, the trains to the airport are around 15 euros and they run every 1/2 hour or so. Cabs run about 60 euros, I think. All in all, a very nice hotel, and for us a good value.
