"I wouldn't recommend it"
The location was great (Spagna). The hotel was not what I expected. First of all I had a phone call while I was at the airport in Athens, giving me a code use in order to enter the hotel. There was no one at the hotel reception, like most of the day. We did see only someone in the morning, serving us the breakfast in the room. The quality of the breakfast […] was not memorable. The building was an old house, quite renovated, the room was very narrow and the bed was not good. Generally, I think the money we payed was too much for the hotel and the services. "Residenza Domizia Smart Design Rome, geweldig!"
Vanaf het vliegveld hadden we een taxi genomen naar ons hotel aan de Via Gregoriana. Vanaf de straat was het hotel niet zichtbaar, we kwamen via een klein deurtje en een aantal trappen bij de receptie waar de dame van de receptie al gelijk vertelde dat ze al 2 dagen zonder warm water zaten en dat we dus naar het hoofdgebouw zouden worden overgeplaatst […] (in Via de Coronari). Voor ons geen probleem, alleen zagen we dat het helemaal aan de andere kant van de stad lag. Ze zei dat het 10 minuten lopen was, maar we hebben ons er niet aan gewaagd met alle bagage en gewoon een taxi genomen. Eenmaal in de straat van het andere hotel zijn we 2 keer heen en weer gelopen (hele lange straat!). We konden het hotel niet vinden.... Na een telefoontje naar de manager hebben we het toch kunnen vinden. Het bleek achter een klein deurtje te zitten. We vonden het een super leuk hotel, met een hele leuke en bijzondere badkamer (mooie kleine kiezels in de muur en in de vloer gemetseld). De slaapkamer was prima, goede bedden en voldoende ruimte. De omgeving was erg goed, vlakbij Piazza Navona waar veel kunstenaars staan. Van de ene kant van de stad naar de andere is inderdaad maar 15 minuten, en Vaticaanstad is nog geen 10 minuten lopen. Ontbijt was trouwens in een restaurantje om de hoek. Leuke bediening en lekkere broodjes, maar stel je er niet te veel van voor. Het hotel is echt een aanrader! Rome is geweldig! Alle gebouwen die er staan zijn mooi, vergeet niet om kerkjes in te gaan waarvan je van de buitenkant denkt dat het niks kan zijn. Het kan je nog verrassen... Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
