A couple of miles south of the city centre, EUR takes its name from Esposizione Universale di Roma, built for an exhibition in 1942. Overall the experience was positive. The hotel is a short walk to the train station and the ride to Termini is about 15 min. "Very hard to find, even with a street map"
Very friendly staff, provided us with both a metro map and a map of downtown Rome, highlighted all the major attrtactions and main shopping streets without us even asking. Hugh room, enough spare space to include a full size pool table, and still have room to spare! Overall room was basic and in need of re-dororating as the wall had scruff marks. Hotel […] is currently being renovated and re-painted so this room is just waiting its turn. Carpet also requires replacing. Although breakfast was not included (8 Euros per person) it was fairly extensive and filling with both hot and cold options. Blid og positive folk i resepsjonen. Litt små rom og dusj, men hvor mye skal man være på hotellet? Froksosten kostet 8 EUR om den ikke var bestilt på forhånd. Der fant du det meste av kald og varm retter, kaffemaskin, juice, yoghurt osv. Søte kaker for de som ønsket det. Det var pålegg som salami, chorizo, skinke, oster, syltetøy, eggerøre, bacon (den […] var kokt, så litt merkelig for oss...), kokte småpølser. Du kunne toaste dine egne loff. Det var kun det hvitt brød. Noe litt tørt, men gikk fin når man toastet den litt først. Vi skulle nok ønske at betjeningen var mer hjelpsomme til å anbefale spisesteder. Vi fikk kun beskjed om å ta buss 170 og hoppe av ved trivestiere. Men Roma er stort og ikke alltid opplyst hvor man er hen, så det endte opp med at vi hoppet av et sted og tok taxi resten. Husk å spørre taxisjåføren på forhånd om hvor mye evt det vil koste. Så er dere lure, så undersøk litt på forhånd om spisesteder. Vi brukte mye tid på å lete etter gode restauranter. Vi hadde rom i 1 etasje og kunne våkne til plingen av heisen. Det var litt irriterende eller at det var et yrende fugleliv i trærne på utsiden, slik at du kunne våkne av det. Men man venner seg til alt etter en stund. Kort avstand til metro rett ned bakken.10 min å gå. Lett og oversiktlig tabell. Vi kjøpe metrokort for 3 dager i kiosken der, kostet 11 EUR. Das Hotel liegt ein wenig außerhalb.Das bedeutet man muss vom Termini ca. 7 Stationen mit der Metro B fahren.Das sind etwa 15 min würde ich jetzt schätzen. Man muss an der Haltestelle Marconi aussteigen und von da aus ca. 5min zu fuss zum Hotel. Sobald es dunkel ist, ist diese Straße ein Straßenstrich, jedoch sind die damen nicht aufdringlich. Die zimmer sehen aus wie auf den Bildern also ganz schön eigentlich.Die Zimmer könnten nur etwas größer sein. Badezimmer war auch zweckmäßig mit bidet. Die Dusche könnte jedoch für kräftigere Menschen zu eng werden. Haben uns auch an einem Abend etwas bei einer örtlichen Pizzeria bestellt, nach empfehlung der Rezeption, lief alles problemlos.Die Rezeption hat uns sogar angerufen,sobald das essen da war. Das Frühstück fanden wir sehr gut. zwar nicht zu vergleichen mit einem deutschen 4* Hotel wie etwa das Park Inn in Berlin, doch unserem empfinden nach vollkommen ausreichend.Es gab alles was man braucht, jedoch kein vollkornbrot. Frisches Obst wurde auch serviert. Alles in allem können wir das Hotel weiter empfehlen.Wir würden es auch ein zweites mal buchen. Wir fanden die Entfernung zur City sogar angenehm, da dort Abend wirklch totale Ruhe herrschte. "Besser als einige andere 4-Sterne-Hotels in Rom"
Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist für Römische Verhältnisse eigentlich in Ordnung. In click-mix-Kombination mit Flug war der Preis für 3 ÜN/F sehr günstig. Man darf sicherlich nicht vom Deutschen 4-Sternen ausgehen, aber es gibt in Rom schlechtere Hotels, die auch 4 oder mehr Sterne haben. Für einen günstigen Kurztripp mit 2-3 ÜN ist das Area jedenfalls […] zu empfehlen. Die Zimmer sind für 2 Personen relativ geräumig und verfügen über die Standardausstattung für mittelhohe Ansprüche. Das Bad ist dafür etwas kleiner, insbesondere die Duschen sind nur ca. 70 cm breit, womit sich die etwas fülligeren Reisenden schon beengt fühlen werden. Das Hotel liegt ruhig und abgelegen zwischen einem Polizeirevier und einer Schule in einem südlichen Stadtbezirk Roms. Wenn man mit dem Auto reist, ist die Anfahrt leicht zu finden und die bewachten Parkplätze am Hotel sind kostenlos. Zur Metrostation Marconi sind es max. 10 Min. Fußweg, die man allerdings nachts nicht mehr alleine zurücklegen sollte. Man ist mit der Metro B (fährt alle 10-20 min.) für 1 Euro je Fahrt in ca. 15 min. am Colosseum bzw. BHF-Termini. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist ausreichend und es wird immer nachgefüllt, Kaffee aus dem Automaten ist allerdings nicht jedermanns Geschmack, man erhält aber auf Nachfrage auch einen Capuccino aus der Küche. Mittag-/Abendessen gibt es nicht, die Bar macht auch schon um 22 Uhr zu. Es gibt in der Nähe (ca. 300 m) nur einen größeren Supermarkt, ansonsten muss man sich in der Innenstadt eindecken.
