Rome's largest, most spectacular fountain, the Trevi Fountain is a baroque extravaganza, its ancient sea gods and gushing water dominating a tiny piazza. Immortalised in Fellini's film, 'La Dolce Vita', this is the place to toss your coins to ensure your return to the Eternal City. The three streets radiating from the piazza lead to the historical centre and sights of the Quirinale – one of the original seven hills.see all hotels in Rome
"Value in Rome"
Average hotel in a great neighborhood; good value for the price. Excellent staff and service.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location for shopping on Via del Corso."
Shower hard to fit a big person, I am average (was OK), Breakfast was OK, but nothing special. Just 4 minutes walk to Popolo Sq. which is a plus!, as big taxi stand there. Next door is a nice little refreshment and lunch place where they make their own pastry and salads, a Plus! A nice gelato shop across from hotel. Cobblestone street makes it hard […] on pulling your luggage over them, a minus! Lights in your room. You have to insert your key card in box on wall to turn on lights! Air conditioning works good. I turned it down a few times, as was getting too cold for sleeping, but it gradually, over time, gets back to where it was! Very clean rooms, a plus! Cage elevator! I found myself using the stairs as I was only on 2nd floor. Would I come back? Good question! I did like the location and the morning cappuccino and lunch being right there. Price: well, too bad ! "Pleasant, But Single Room Not Stellar"
The hotel is easily reachable by taxi from Termini train station (~ 10 euro). The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the hotel itself was extremely clean. My one negative comment is about the size of the single rooms. I was NOT told that I would only have a TINY single bed that felt more like a cot. The room was miniscule and very dark […] (one tiny window). The bathroom was even smaller -- I couldn't even dry myself off after showering, I had to step into the teeny bedroom. Overall, it gave a very depressing air to the experience. I am an experienced traveller, but I am also tall (6'). I felt almost like I was in a hostel room. True, one doesn't spend a lot of time in one's hotel room on vacation, but when you are there, you shouldn't feel the walls closing in on you. That said, the rest of my stay at The Hotel Centrale was molto bene! For the price, however, I felt I could've found a room that was a little more welcoming and comfortable. "Location and gelato"
Those are what this hotel has going for it. The location is a good one for the price and the gelato shop across the street has some of the best gelato I've ever had, which lots of creative flavors. The employees were also friendly and helpful, for the most part. The room, though, is nothing special--the bed was not very comfortable and the wake-up service […] didn't work despite trying multiple times. The breakfast is your typical, cheap and not-very-good European hotel breakfast. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"TEENY-TINY ROOMS AND BATHS"
THIS HOTEL WAS NOT REALLY ON A STREET, BUT A NARROW ALLEY WITH COBBLESTONES (BAD FOOTING). FORTUNATELY IT IS NEAR THE CORSO, A GREAT SHOPPING STREET. THE ROOMS AND BATHS WERE THE SMALLEST I HAVE EVER SEEN EXCEPT YEARS AGO DURING MY STUDENT TRAVELS. WE LEFT AFTER ONE NIGHT. THE WORST PART WAS THAT THEY MADE US PAY FOR THREE NIGHTS...THEY HAVE A 48-HR. […] CANCELLATION POLICY (WATCH OUT FOR THAT!) AND WE TOLD THEM WE'D LEAVE THE MORNING AFTER WE ARRIVED. "Not as bad as others, but "seriously OVERPRICED""
A few good things about this hotel first, before I grumble too much; 1) WiFi access : compared to other slow and costly internet access in Rome, at least, WiFi service provided by the hotel was okay without additional charge. 2) Facilities & Equipment : Though the building itself is undoubtedly hundreds of years old, basic gadgets are renovated using […] latest technologies including RFID tag door lock card key, IP phone, automatic air conditioning, ... etc. 3) Hot water / Shower : relatively new shower booth. no problem with shower but the bathroom/toilet is extremely small crowded with the sink and urinal. HOWEVER, there is a serious DOWNSIDE on this hotel, especially considering the money charged on. How can you stand such bad things after spending "over 200 dollars" a day? 1) tiny small room : I booked a single room paying over 200 bucks a day. but the room is so much small that I couldn't find a space to put my baggage on the floor. I mean, there is literally not enough space to put my 26 inch bag on the floor. 2) half broken bed 3) another tiny small bathroom : the bathroom size is literally almost as small as your kitchen table. So, you will need to learn how to crouch your body, put your feet and bend your knee in a proper position, if not, your body part will touch somewhere around the urinal or the sink. The hotel was in an ok area but the staff wasnt exactly very friendly. The wifi has problems working for Apple products making our data usage skyrocket on our bills. The bathroom was very tight and outdated. The beds were uncomfortable to say the least. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, especially for the price they charge.Genuine Expedia guest review
Fun location to operate from. Liked the top floor room.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Central location tiny room."
Expedia sells the room as superior, but the room is smaller than standard, very small. The bathroom is so narrow that the door needs to be open to be able to use the sink. In the shower us impossible to bend too. Next to the bed 2 feet left from the wall to pass to the other size, which makes it very challenging to bring your suitcase. I suggest this […] room only for very skinny young people. The elvevator it doesn't always works. Great location, friendly staff. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"I Recommend Hotel Centrale"
Everything was comfortable and convenient. Especially noteworthy was the performance of Jean-Pierre, the Night Manager. He was always pleasant and went out of his way repeatedly to make my stay enjoyable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We only stayed one night but our visit was very pleasant. This hotel is right in the middle of everything - yet off a side street which was quiet - you can walk to just about everything - shops, restaurants, historical sites, etc. The staff was courteous and pleasant and very accomodating. We had a terrace room which was a bonus.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Budget Hotel in Central Rome"
I stayed at Hotel Centrale Sept. 5-7, 2012 and couldn't be more pleased with this small, charming, immaculately clean, centrally located hotel. The hotel is located on a small side street between via del Corso and via del Babuino, just 2 short blocks from Piazza del Popolo. The closest Metro stop, Flaminio, is about a 5-minute walk. The street is very […] quiet even during the day, and totally deserted at night, but the entire area is very safe. Based on some reviews I'd read, I thought it was really close to Spanish Steps, but it's not, and it's a good thing. I stayed in a double room - single occupancy and found the room quite adequate in size. The room was impeccably clean and recently refurbished. The floor is wood (or laminate) and tile in the bathroom. The lobby and hallways are all marble. My room was painted a very pleasing peach color and contained 2 roomy wardrobes and a very convenient shelf on top of the headboard, as well as a refrigerator. The bathroom was in an excellent condition, with everything in a fine working order, and it contained a little bag with every toiletry a traveler would need. I was really impressed with the care taken to make my stay comfortable. The air conditioning in the room worked great - in fact I had to turn it down - the wi-fi worked just as well, and there is also a computer in the sitting room available to guests at no charge. When I asked for an adaptor to charge my iPhone, it was cheerfully provided by the front desk. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Small Hotel.....great location and value"
This hotel is in a great location and on a quiet street. Rooms are small, but fine. Only comment is that the rooms were warm in Nov. and only way to cool down appreared to be to open the window...which we did and it was fine. Breakfast included was a nice feature.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean hotel in great location."
Staff was great and helpful whenever you needed it. Although the rooms are small, which is very typical in Europe, it was clean and fairly comfortable. Wi-Fi worked great all the time. Breakfast was a typical toast and coffee breakfast. My second stay at this hotel and I love that in it's a great location and close to many things.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great inexpensive hotel in a great location!"
I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Centrale. It was centrally located, as soon as I arrived they let me check my bags and gave me a map with some suggestions of where to walk to. I had made it down to the Colisseum within 20 minutes. The subway station (great way to get to the Vatican and elsewhere) was only a few blocks away by the Spanish Steps. Definitely the best and perfect location between the Spanish steps and Piazza del Popolo. Also the people working in the hotel were very kind and helpful. Very good service. A boutique hotel in the heart of Rome. Walkable to most venues and the subway. Breakfast was very good with an assortment of breakfast goodies....yogurt, fresh fruit, croissants, rolls, deli meat, cereal, and of course coffee...lattes, expresso and even Canadian perculated. The fresh pear juice was amazing.Genuine Expedia guest review
When I arrived , my reservation for 5 nights was incorrect , I had paid and specified a double bed . "Great location, clean rooms"
Good location, close proximity to Spanish steps, via condotti. Longer walk to Vatican (about 20 mins) and colosseum (about the same time). Breakfast was good and just enough to get you started in the morning. Hotel rooms were a good size. Washrooms are a tad tight but typical of Europe. "Great location, walking distance to everything."
Great location, just round the corner from the Spanish Steps and all the big designer shops like Dior. The walk to tthe Vatican was just a short walk to the left of the hotel. We had the basic small room but the shower was a decent size and was always hot even at 8.30 am. The bed was a really good size, i think it was 2 beds pushed together. There was […] ample cupboard space for two people. Breakfast was a typical small continental breakfast consisting of rolls, salami. Croissants, butter, jams, cereal, milk, several different pastries, this melba toast stufff in packets but NO REAL TOAST, and fresh fruit and yoghurt, and orange juice, and a machine that served hot chocolate, tea coffe, expresso, etc. I didnt go in the lift, as it was extremely old, and as we were only on the second floor, we just walked up. There was some noise from the hotel but not too bad. But the room next to us, the walls were very thin and we could hear everything. Luckily the person was on their own. We got a return bus trip from Ciampino airport to the Termini station for £8 each on the plane on the way out there, then we got the Metro from termini to Spagna which is right by the Spanish steps, and from there you go down the little road straight down from the steps to Via Del Corso and turn right, then walk up the road and Via Laurina is on the right. The hotel is halfway up the road on the right. I would definately stay here again for price and location!!! Staff friendly and speak good English. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Hotel Central is a clean hotel staffed by friendly helpful people, breakfasts were self service in a pleasant light room.
Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
