The heart of Ancient Rome, all roads led to the Forum. Visitors flock here to walk the streets where Julius Caesar once trod when this was the centre of commercial, political and judicial life. Nearby, the Colosseum, described by Lord Byron as 'the gladiators' bloody circus', is the world's most famous amphitheatre and the most impressive of all Rome's buildings and ruins.

"good hotel - great breakfest near ancient Rome"
Our stay was great. We asked for a room away from the main streets which was a good idea. The extent of the breakfast was a pleasant surprise. The location to ancient Rome was super.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Rooms need improvement. Good location."
I expected a little more than what we got. Beds are quite old, unconfortable and too soft. Air conditioning was not working for cooling, only for heating, so to refresh the room we opened the big window, which allowed all the street noise to enter even easier. The hotel is located at the intersection of two busy streets, so expect a lot of noise and […] carbon monoxide. Shower was very little. By the other hand, staff was friendly, breakfast very good. A metro station is conveniently located across the street, and the Coliseum is very close. For those traveling to Rome, I really recommend the Roma Pass, because you will need not only metro but also tram and bus. This will save you a lot of walking, time and money. "Good hotel"
Nice hotel. Comfortable rooms. They were doing some minor maintenance (replacing carpet) during our stay, but they were very nice amount it. However, they were having some issues with the internet during my stay as well. Hopefully it is resolved by now.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Perfect Hotel"
Hotel is perfect place to stay in Rome! Very convenient to move around the city because Metro-Manzoni station is just across the street. Close to restaurants, bar(coffee/gelato) stores, even japanese restaurant , which is not easy to find in Rome is just a block away. Walking distance to colosseo and forum. Housekeeper is changing linens everyday, new […] sets of towels and cleaning the entire room everyday. Breakfast is excellent, lots of selections and it's included and free wifi too. The shower room is a little crowded.Friendly staff are always there to answer your inquiries. Would definetly recommend this hotel! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great Location and nice hotel"
This was our second stay at the Hotel Milton Roma. It is small and very clean. The breakfast buffet is wonderful with a huge variety of fruits, cereal, yogurt, etc. It is within walking distance of the Coliseum and the Forum. The subway is on the opposite corner. We plan to stay there again on our next trip!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Don't stay here."
We stayed in this hotel on an apparently busy night because the hotel was fully booked. We learned this after requesting a room change because our room was incredibly noisy. We heard everything going on outside: cars, trams, construction, everything! The fact that they even rent rooms out like this to guests speaks to their level of customer service. […] Don't stay here! "Moderate Quality and Moderate Value"
Negatives: The rooms were small and the staff was rude. Positives: It was clean, had a reasonable price and about 40 feet from the metro entrance. Also, it's only about an 8 minute metro ride from Roma Termini to the hotel. Be aware that the vague information listed on Expedia's site for Hotel Milton's more detailed info regarding the 3 EU per person, […] per night city tax is not correct. I originally called Expedia to clarify and was told that it was already covered. However, the hotel management disagreed about the fee, so we both called Expedia yet again to confirm whether the tax had been paid. During this call, they then switched and said that it was not covered. Be aware that this city tax is not covered by the taxes already paid to Expedia and will be collected on site by the hotel. "Walk to city center"
It took us a couple hours to find a hotel on foot from the bus station, so bring a detailed street map especially if you don't know any italian. I would recommend getting a taxi especially on hot days when you don't wanna walk very far looking for a hotel. if you are flying w Ryanair and they sell you a round trip bus ticket, make sure you have a map […] or location of pick up to return to the airport since there are multiple bus companies on different time schedules. "Grest all-around experience!"
We recently went to Rome for our 10th wedding anniversary and searched Expedia for hotel reviews. It was our first time in Italy. Suffice to say, we really enjoyed this hotel. The breakfast buffet was amazing and the staff VERY helpful in answering our questions. We would definitely come back to this hotel on our next visit.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location"
Our hotel room was larger than expected based on general rewas qiviews of European hotels. It was quiet and clean. The bet part was its location to the Colosseum and Metro station. The public transportation system was easy to figure out and very convenient! The breakfast buffet was included with the room rate and had a nice variety to get you started. "Fair old hotel."
Located in a not so nice part of town, graffiti, loud motorcycles. A 15 minute walk to coliseum. Metro just across street. Breakfast buffet was average. The rooms are small, air cond is rated very low. The shower has only a 1/2 partition on bath so it makes it uncomfortable and messy to shower.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"good hotel next to metro & walkable from termini"
Other than the breakfast help ready to snatch the breakfast plates from under our noses if we overstayed after 10.30, this was a great hotel with good location, safe neighborhood, easy access & good breakfast as well.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Disappointed....not worth the price"
The hotel was very easy to locate just opposite the metro station. Check in was quick and although the guest service agent nice she didn't explain anything to us and was anxious to get rid of us. Upon entering the room we immeditely noticed the mold on the walls near the bathroom door. The bathroom was very cramped with more mold in the shower stall […] and tiles. Since we were there for only 1 night we decided not to say anything and bear with it all. As an executive in a 5 star hotel, I was very disappointed and felt the hotel was not up to 4 star standards. "Perfect choice for us!"
We just returned from our trip to Italy and we couldn't have been happier with our choice of Hotel Milton Roma in Rome, Italy. The staff was very welcoming, kind and helpful and spoke very good English. Our room was cleaned, and fresh towels were provided daily. The room was large enough to provide what we needed with a beautiful view. The best part […] - it is right across the street from the Manzoni Metro stop which is very helpful! "convenient and comfortable"
Hotel Milton Roma is right at the metro stop, making it very convenient for a Roman holiday. It is also a short walk to the Collesseum. There are not a lot of great restaurants in the area, but just 2 minutes is a nice place - Il Cavallo Bianco. The room was surprisingly big, for a European hotel. The bed was a true double, and not two thin beds pushed […] together. It is on a busy street, but the street noise is not bad at night. The staff speak English and are very helpful. The breakfast is good, with a lot of variety and plenty to eat. The only draw back was weak wireless, on our second night, it was only working in the lobby. But it was free wi-fi, which is better than in most of Europe. I would stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Location is 5+! Right by the subway stop Monzoni. So convenient to buy the multi day metro/bus pass. Bkft was wonderful- scrambled eggs, all kinds of breads and pastries, and fresh fruit galore. Front desk staff was magnificent and so helpful in all ways! Room was simple, and a bit worn, but otherwise I'd come back in a minute.Genuine Expedia guest review
"not this hotel"
I booked single room. However, the room is not in the main building, but in the back section with staff break room and linen storage. this is not a problem. the problem is the smell of mold in the room. the water form shower runs to the whole floor of the bathroom and also socks the carpet in the main room. I went to the front desk to tell them the […] problem, but was told there is no other available. I couldn't waste my precious time to argue with them , but left a note requested to change a room. However, I was stuck in that room for four days. I took some pictures and would like to show people the unlivable condition. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"all and all not a bad place"
This hotel has some good aspects and a few not so great. The hotel is in a great location directly across from a metro station and down the road from San Giovani in Laterno Basilica and about 1 mile from the Colseum. The breakfast was ok and free and the staff was friendly and helpful. The down side is definitly the road noise. If possible do not get […] a room with a window facing the street. At times it felt like I was sleeping along the road because of the traffic noise which was likely due to the fact that the windows were not insulated. Along with this our heating and AC didnt work properly so we had to open the window at times. Despite this we had a great time and feel that the good outweighed the bad. "Easy walking distance to the Coloseum"
This hotel is very pleasant and the staff are helpful. We were satisfied with the hotel, the room was a bit on the small side, but clean and sufficient. The safe in the room was not big enough for a laptop so I left it with the desk everyday. The biggest problem was the WiFi was down 5 out of the 6 days we were there…. very ineffiicient service from […] their tech … this was a big issue for me since I was unable to keep up with my work from home. Also, the cable TV had absolutely nothing in English except CNN. All movies are dubbed in Italy. We walked all over the city, so if you like to walk its a good location. "Good 4 star Hotel"
This hotel is located across the road from the Manzoni metro station, so getting there from the airport was very easy. When we arrived at 9am, we were told by the Concierge that our room would be ready within 30 mins. We were not expecting to be able to check in so early, and he offered us breakfast while we waited. It was a nice touch and we were very […] impressed with the service and thoughtfulness. Our room was small, but functional. The shower seemed to have a mind of it's own (or maybe needs a thermostat) and went through the extreme's several times during a shower. There is one English channel on TV, (Sky news) which was fine for us, as we didn't spend a lot of time in the hotel room. Breakfast is buffet style, and is basic but reasonable. The location is good, across the road from the metro, but you can walk anywhere from the hotel also. A supermarket is a handy 5 minute walk away. The staff were friendly and helpful. Good hotel for a good price. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

We would have liked to be informed that we could request an early breakfast as our tour began before breakfast was served, We did see the dinning room door open so went in and were chastised by the manager, He was very unpleasant about going into the dining room 10 minutes early. "Great service but in a removed location from the sites"
The front desk staff was extremely welcoming and helpful. Milton Roma offered excellent free breakfast options and service. The downsides of the Hotel are that it is removed from all the heart of the city Roman sites/restaurants and the noise from the intersection that the hotel sits on was quite annoying.Genuine Expedia guest review
"This hotel was ok."
The hotel wasn't to far of a walk from the Colosseum, probably about 15 minutes or so. Becareful about playing with the air condtion in the room, we were told not to tough the thermostat because it was central air. He told us he would only fix it once and it never really did get cool in the room. The internet was easy to use and worked just fine. The […] gentleman at the front desk recommended a decent restaurant at the end of the street (last one on the left). We used this hotel just as a resting place and it served it's purpose. The breakfast wasn't anyhting to brag about either. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good hotel. 2 Stars by US standards"
The hotel is located about 3/4 mile from the Coliseum. The neighborhood is good and not too close to the rougher area by the main train station. My room was very loud at night due to the train and the subway beneath. It was nice they served breakfast. It was almost a 3 start hotel by US standards. It was not worth the price that I paid.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice European Hotel"
This was a nice European Hotel. Excellent breakfast, location, service. Across the street from the subway and down the street from the Colosseum, the location would be hard to beat. American travelers not used to tiny rooms, beds, and bathrooms might be put off but it was pretty standard for my trips outside the US. They only had wired internet which […] put my wireless devices off. My only complaint would be the shower which was small, had just a hand sprayer, and the shower curtain didn't even reach the bottom of the shower. Even after getting over that water was going to get everywhere (which the house service would clean up), having to use one hand to constantly hold the sprayer made it awkward to use. Still, if I went back to Rome, I'd put them at the front of consideration as a place to stay again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great Location"
The hotel was cute and in a great location. The bar area, only place you can get WIFI, was nice. Great little restaurants everywhere. The room was clean. It was small but had enough storage for our items. The bathroom was updated. They had a great breakfast available but don't be fooled... it's not included in the price of the room. We didn't realize […] that it would cost us 15 Euro per breakfast until it was time to check out. Also, we had hotel employees walk into our room. Once it was the bellboy and the other two times it was housekeeping. They would knock and then unlock the door and open it. No chain available. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Can't recommend"
Although this hotel had a very friendly staff and was not very far from the Colosseum, the hotel itself had some issues with its actual location. Hotel Milton Roma was a nice, simple hotel in a convenient location. It was clean, well-kept, and equipped with standard room amenities. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and multi-lingual.
