Made famous by 'La Dolce Vita' film in 1960, the Via Veneto is going through a glamorous renaissance. Bars, restaurants, chic hotels and boutiques all vie for attention in the street which coined the expression 'paparazzo' – the surname of the photojournalist in the film. Nearby, the Spanish Steps are the place for lovers' trysts, shopping, and honing the Italian art of 'dolce far niente' – idling and people-watching.

"Andrea Farnya Visit -April 2012"
Generally the hotel was GOOD in terms of Quality of Staff Service, in case of any information or any place needed, the room service and their staff were perfect as well and i thanks them very much, the hotel location is ideal as it's near to city center which make things easy for me to access any location i'd like to visit. and the breakfast is very […] good. well every thing was ok except the WIFI access as the internet connection was all time failed or disconnected or sometimes so slow when i'm connected, on which i hope you will consider this non-official complain to work to fix it. Lately, if the occasion to come to Roma another time i'd prefer have my stay with you. Thank you & regards. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Turner Hotel"
This was our second stay here. The staff is polite, friendly, and helpful. The rooms are nice and very clean. The roof top terrace/bar (new since our last visit in 2004) is a nice place to relax in the evening after a long day of sight seeing. The array of breakfast foods was excellent and well stocked. It included cooked foods such as eggs and ham, […] in addition to the traditional rolls, pasteries, cheese, and meats. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"When in Rome"
We we're delayed getting a flight out of Rome and needed to stay an extra night. Turner Hotel Rome was an easy solution close to the train and very affordable. Enough that we had the time and Euro left over for a nice dinner and even better, a last minute ticket at the Borghese Galleries, plan ahead and don't miss this site! The Turner was pleasant […] but may be suffering economically. The room was clean but not as sparkling as accustomed in Sicily BnBs. An earlier review of the Turner noted a remarkable hearty European breakfast. I was satisfied but fresh fruit was substituted by fruit cocktail from a can, juice was from concentrate, and pastries were not quite fresh. Recommended but not to enhance a Roman holiday. The Hotel is definitely smaller than it looks online and I would consider it a stretch for it to be a 4 star hotel. The rooms are clean but small.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Impressed"
We were expecting a small full size bed but the bed appeared to be two connected twin beds which appeared as king size bed. It was comfortable. Inside looked nice, it had a refrigrator which was helpful for us to store my daughter's milk. They also provided us a crib even though we had not asked for one. It was very close to bus station so it was very […] easy to use bus. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"A Very Pleasant Stay."
A great little boutique hotel with a very baroque atmosphere. It was a very comfortable place to stay and their staff were very helpful to assist with recommendations and planning agenda's whilst in Rome. The hotel is located on the outskirts of the city so to commute to the areas of interest you would need to either walk for approx. 30 minutes or […] catch the Metro which was only a 5 minute walk away. For those with a life-line to the cyber world you will struggle to gain web access, even though Wi-Fi is available and free the range is poor and most rooms don't have a signal. You generally would need to hang around the communal lounge area to get an average signal and even then it's so-so. Breakfast - the staff were very welcoming and pro-active, as for the range of food well it wasn't that great. Unless you're in to eating cakes and super-sweet pastries then you'll be left slightly hungry. Saying that they do offer savoury options of cold meats and a bacon & egg plate at an additional cost although I wouldn't bother because they're not very nice (processed meats and super salty eggs). Overall it was a pleasant experience and a nice option if you're planning a trip to Rome. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Excellent option for visiting Rome"
The hotel is excellently located 20 mins walk easy walk from the central railway station. There is also a metro station with 10 mins walk to get directly to the old city and a bus stop right out side. The area is not as touristy as others so prices in the hotel (based on my experience) and in the surrounding area were very reasonable. The hotel is lovely […] and the staff very kind and helpful. The roof top bar is a nice place to relax and is open until 01:00 every night. Breakfast is good although espreso from a Nespresso machine is an absolute travesty in this country. The only serious problem is that my room was quite noisy when people were in the corridors and the cleaning staff thought it acceptable to have conversions at full volume outside my door at 8.00am on Sunday morning. However, this is still a highly recommended place! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"An acceptable hotel, but not 4* quality."
Overall the hotel was of an acceptable quality, the rooms were comfortable with plenty of storage, the air conditioning was great in one room of our two rooms but struggled to keep the second room at a comfortable temperature, on asking at reception to check it, they said that they would fix it but there was no difference. The bathrooms were small but […] well equipped with everything that is required except the fact that the showers were tiny, no room to move in them at all. The bar on the roof top is nice and well priced, and a good way to relax late in the evening. The only problems were that renovations being undertaken in the hotel were noisy from approx 7:30am and the breakfast was not of a suitable standard, the pastries tasted stale and the bacon and eggs were of a very poor standard, cold (being kept warm by 2 candles under the big silver tray) and the bacon was just like slices of ham with bones in it. Location was great, right beside Porta Pia, with plenty of beautiful restaurants within a 3 min walk of the hotel door. Bus stop outside the door with buses that take you to all the important parts of the city, and all the major tourist spots. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Small for Family"
Service is friendly. Bus stop outside to major destinations, hotel gives u a map and bus schedule so tt's very useful. New reception wing opened with beautiful painting on ceiling. Most taxis know of this hotel. There's a mkt and supermkt nearby. A good japanese resturant just 50 metres away called Sakura Sushiif tired of italian food. A lot of small […] snack bars around too. The. Breakfast at hotel is not bad, good selection. My only gripe is the room was very small for 4 persons. The vintage decor is interesting to enjoy for a few days else u will feel like u are trapped in a time warp. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great place to stay"
Hotel and staff were lovely. Decor of room was quaint and traditional, breakfast was very good, plenty of variety and staff were very accomodating and friendly. "Great hotel and not far from main sights"
Hotel was located north of the City and had a bus stop right outside with different buses going past frequently to various tourist sights. If you want to walk its about 15 - 20 minutes walk to the sights and as Rome is such a lovely City it is nice to walk. Check in was quick, all staff were polite and very helpful, the room was clean, very nicely decorated, […] tidy, comfortable and bathroom was very nice, clean, always hot water - only slight niggle was the location of the room inside the hotel meant that there wasn't much natural light coming into the room, plenty of lights though. Breakfast was a continental affair and also had hot scrambled eggs and bacon, always plenty of food, places to sit and polite staff. Would recommend. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Review of the Turner Hotel Rome"
The furnishings and decor were amazing and the room very comfortable especially the double bed. However in April they had switched off the heating so our bedroom was very chilly. The shower was nice and hot on 3 days but on the 4th day it was luke warm. The staff at the desk were rather brusque and not openly friendly but nevertheless efficient and […] our room was ready when we arrived before midday. It was nice to have a kettle but English tea and coffee were not provided so bring a few teabags with you. The breakfast was good. The hot dish consisted of scrambled eggs and lightly grilled bacon but no tomato or beans. The bread was very dull (just white slices for toast or small sweetish rolls) but there was an amazing variety of cakes. However no fresh fruit. Very loud classical music was being played throughout breakfast which was a bit much in the morning! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice quirky hotel let down by en suit."
We enjoyed the hotel and staff were friendly. Major downside was our en-suite which looked like it had had a normal shower which had been party removed and replaced with an all in one Jacuzzi shower unit which was awful. Not sure if this applied to all rooms or just our's 428. Area was nice but a little way from usual tourist haunts. Convenient bus […] stop at the door. Many nice local restaurants, bars and cafes and a market and specialist shops. We would go back but would need to check the en suite before occupying the room.. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"A nice hotel"
The staff were welcoming, and very obliging. Hotel is quite stunning, all marble and chandeliers, however on closer inspection some bits aren't that brilliant, and I think that it is being refurbished gradually. None of this detracted from our stay...except that we couldn't get hot water for a shower if we were lazy and breakfasted first, it was only […] tepid. Other times it was fine. Ask for the bus info from the staff as it is very useful. Buses are much easier than the underground/tube in Rome. I would use the hotel again, because it was comfortable and the staff were helpful. Hotel Turner is only a 20min walk from Rome Termini, the rooms are good. Our first impressions of the marble reception area was wow and the rest of the hotel was no different. A quaint Hotell at Porta Pia, Rome. I walking distance (for the fit) of all main attractions colleseum, Trevi Fountains and the Spanish Steps. "Value for money"
It's not the largest, most luxurious or close to the center hotel in Rome, but it's perfectly okay if you're on a budget. It's located just outside the walls of the city but with a very ptractical bus station right outside and a metro station nearby. It's also a 30 minute walk from the center. The room was quite small but to be fair, we had booked an […] economy double, so it's possible there are larger rooms. Staff at the reception were helpful enough with one girl in particular being very friendly and pleasant. Don't expect grandeur if you're staying here, but a functional, reputable and well-priced hotel. Breakfast was free when we stayed but it was on the poor side, with some tasty baked goods but not much else. All in all, I'd stay there again, therefore I recommend it.
