Positives: Nice spacious room with nice clean bathroom. The breakfast that was provided with the room was very good. Some good restaurants in the neighborhood like Ristorante del Giglio. Location not too far from many sites. Negatives: The HVAC system would not work (very hot in Rome in July) despite our comments to the desk manager. Fortunately the […] evenings were cooler so we opened the window to cool off the room, and just tolerated the traffic noises during the night. Also the Internet service that was provided for a fee did not work after we agreed to pay for it so we were out of touch with family. "Good Hotel, Poor Service"
Customer Service here is (to put it kindly) practically non-existent. As an American you are treated third rate. Ex.: your talking with Guest Services when an italian comes in the door and straight up to the desk. They ignore you and the others waiting in line and take care of him. No "excuse me", no apologies. Or the breakfast service crew who are […] too busy talking up a storm in the open kitchenette to take care of the Guests having breakfast. By the way, even though it is a "buffet breakfast" it isn't buffet in the traditional American sense - have as much as you want, when you want, any time during the allocated hours. No, here everything is counted and you are only entitled to "one" breakfast, after all the hotel "can't afford to give 2 breakfasts to everyone". One night I told the night receptionist I had to leave before breakfast the next morning. He kindly offered to have a bagged breakfast prepared for me by 6:30am. I said Great! How thoughtful! The next morning he gave me a nicely prepared bag with juice, yogurt, crackers, cheese, etc. Not a full breakfast, but very decent. Since my ride was delayed to well within the breakfast hours, I decided to sit down and have a full breakfast. WOW! He blew his stack at me. "Competent but not WOW!"
We arrived at the hotel to find it boarded up! But there was a little side entrance which led to the reception. This wasnt a brilliant start and the lobby looked a bit old and faded although there were some lovely pieces of furniture and a gorgeous fire place. The check-in was efficient by a somewhat brusque (but efficient) lady and we were taken up […] by the bell boy. The room itself was fairly large and our window overlooked some offices which provided endless (albeit childish) amusement! There was a small fridge with a minibar (nothing spectacular in there but in th summer you would be able to stick in some necessaities without a problem). The batroom was large and clean...with a bathtub and a handheld shower but no shower curtain. There was a slight dearth of plug points I thought but not too bad on the whole. The AC didnt work and the heater was set on a constant high (26 degrees) which for us was stifling. No one could make the thermostat work so we slept with the window open most times - not ideal when you have offices opposite and people able to stare at you while you're asleep (sort of stalkerish but if you like that sort of thing thnen its perfect. On the whole a nice hotel...not far from Termini station with its links to the airport and everywhere else. The area has plenty of nice bars and places to eat at a reasonable price. "Ruhig gelegen und trotzdem kein Schlaf"
Das Hotel liegt ruhig in einer Seitenstraße, kein Straßenlärm stört die Nachtruhe. Das wir trotzdem nicht schlafen konnten liegt an einem permanent laufenden Elektromotor. Hotellet var helt greit og rommet også. Bad med kun dusj. Betjeningen i resepsjonen virker totalt uinteressert i oss og gjorde kun det de måtte. Beliggenheten var perfekt, få minutter fra jernbanestasjonen og gangavstand til det meste. Frokosten, som var inkludert, var helt elendig. Ideale uitvalsbasis en maar 5 minuten van Termini waar alle metro's en bussen vertrekken. Nette buurt ondanks dat je zo dicht bij Termini zit. Lekkere eetgelegenheden in de buurt waar je voor een normale prijs lekker kunt eten. Met je rug naar het hotel dan links af, meteen de eerste straat rechts en de eerste weer rechts. Aan je rechterhand heb je […] 2 eetgelegenheden waar je rustig wat kunt eten. Ook vanuit het hotel aan je linkerhand kun je een heerlijke cappucino drinken en een lekker croisantje voor wel € 0,90 voor de cappucino en voor het zoete broodje € 1,20.
