The second stay at the end of my trip, the room had a large bathroom with double sinks and a tub shower. The hotel itself was centrally located. It was clean, the breakfast was good and the superior room was very nice. Some of the people at the front desk were not very helpful. At the conclusion of our stay we were asked to pay a Rome room tax. They only accepted it in cash and would not generate a receipt which made it seem a bit of a scam. "DO NOT STAY HERE!!! HORRIBLR SERVICE, LOUD ROOMS"
As a European and world traveling veteran (both on business and pleasure with the family), I highly recommend you do not stay at this hotel. My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights. Read the negative reviews here as they are spot on. Firstly, the service was horrible. The staff (including all 3 rotating front desk mangers) were extremely rude and non-helpful. […] We saw them (on more than several occasions) snicker and laugh amongst themselves at a few guests after they checked-in or left the front desk area because they asked simple questions. They did not help with directions nor did they want to engage in any helpful information for longer than 15 seconds. I have never, ever seen such poor service at any hotel and we travel around the world. Trust me, it was not only at us but other guests and we just had to shake our heads at the rudeness by hotel management. Secondly, we had a suite for a room and the room was so bad, we had to move after the first night, we saw insects around the room and the noise coming from the room above us and next to us was extremely loud (day and night) since the walls are super thin and you can hear everything. We heard people talking in the halls, footsteps in the room above us, bathrooms flushing everywhere, it was not easy to get a good nights sleep at all. The next morning, we asked to be move to another room and I mentioned even a small room will do (a downgrade), they would not help and come up with several excuses. Finally, after standing our ground, they agreed but mentioned they would not help move our luggage or do anything else to help us. We had to do that ourselves. I felt bad for my wife so I had to make all the trips carrying the luggage up and down the stairs. Also, our shower broke in our new room and they said they could not help till the next day. "Excellent Location"
The hotel is only yards away from the Trevi Fountain, and is surrounded by lots of restaurants and shopping. It is a quick walk to the Pantheon and Piazza Navona. We walked to all the major sites. The staff was extremely friendly, and seemed to take a personal interest in our itinerary and our comings and goings, greeting us warmly every time we came […] or went through the front door. The rooms only have dial up internet access, so we did go to the lobby (wireless) to use our computers. The lobby connection was fine, the room connection was too slow. The interent service costs money. The room was spotless, the bathroom large, plenty of storage for clothing. The hotel arranged a private car for the trip to the airport--50 euro vs. 45 for taxi, and the driver was waiting for us (we had an early departure). My wife and I just got back from a cruise and we stayed at this hotel 1 might before and 3 nights after. It is about a minute walk from the Trevi foutain and a mile from the Coliseum. The Pantheon is very close as is the Spanish Steps. There is so much in between also. There are numerous restaurants, and shops near by. There are rooms that overlook […] the street and offer the sights and sounds of Rome and larger rooms that overlook a court yard that are quieter. All are very nice and clean. The front desk was very helpful but my wife found that the mainly gentleman staffed front desk was somewhat rude to her. I did not experience this myself. The complimentary breakfast was very good. The hotel is located 1/2 block from Trevi Fountain, so as far as location goes, its ideal. We had a balcony room so were able to see down the block, however when we closed doors could not hear a thing. Hotel room was spotless, and bathroom was suprisingly large for a Europe. The Hotel Delle Nazioni is in a great location just steps from the Trevi Fountain, easy walking to the Pantheon and Vatican City. Their attached full service restaurant had great food with an excellent staff while the breakfast room was dismal with a grumpy staff. The room was large but dark with only two small lamps. There is no drinking water, coffee/tea, […] glasses, cups--no amenities in the room at all. We had to leave a day early due to business reasons and they were not willing to refund our last day - even though they told us they could book the room out. Really liked this Hotel for a short break. The Hotel was less than 50 mts from the Trevi Fountain.. so within easy walking distance of pretty well all the main sites . We just got back from a tour of Italy, and agree that Hotel della Nazioni was our favorite hotel there. Rome is exhilirating but exhausting, and really what one needs more than anything is a good night's sleep. Nazioni's rooms and beds provide that and more. Our room was practically soundproof (a small miracle there!), the shutters blocking out all […] light when closed and the good windows all noise, and the beds were heavenly - better than the five star hotel we chose at Venice. Yes, our rooms were small, but they provided all essentials, and even looked out into a charming flower-filled patio when the shutters were opened. The bathroom was spacious and well-equipped. Breakfast was the best we had in Italy, with a wide range of choices to start the day. Location was perfect, literally around the corner from Trevi Fountain. Friendly men at the front desk, fluent in several languages, helpful in helping us to get our bearings. My only suggestion to the hotel would be to provide more guidance and recommendations for activities and eating. But we figured things out and found plenty to do. "Hotel Delle Nazioni - mitten im Zentrum von Rom"
Wir waren grad zwischen dem 31.12. und 3.1. im Hotel Delle Nazioni. Das Hotel liegt mitten im Rom, gut zugänglich, keine 2 Minuten von der Fontana die Trevi und auf der anderen Seite ist man in wenigen Minuten in Rom's massiver Shopping Meile (Via del Corso). Der bleibende Gesamteindruck war sehr gut! Sehr freundliches Personal (ausser einer Dame hinter […] der Rezeption) und alle auch sehr Kinderfreundlich. Wir konnten problemlos über die Rezeption den Transport vom Flughafen vor-organisieren, welcher auch prompt und anstandlos funktionierte. Das Hotel selber ist sehr sauber. Unser Zimmer war zum Hof raus, also keine Sicht dafür etwas mehr Ruhe. Das Zimmer war gross genug und es war kein Problem ein Kinderbettchen reinstellen zu lassen. Unserem Zimmer hat man jedoch ein gewisses Alter angemerkt, diverse Kratzspuren an den Wänden, Risse, etc waren leicht erkennbar. Also nicht was wir von einem 4 Sterne Hotel normalerweise gewohnt sind. Trotzdem ein sehr schönes Zimmer, welches mit wenig Aufwand wieder in frischem Glanz erstrahlen könnte. Im Preis einbegriffen war das Frühstück. Die Auswahl ist definitiv gross genug. Einziges Manko war, dass der Kaffee, der aus zwei Maschinen bezogen werden konnte, alles andere als genüsslich beschrieben werden kann. Und das in Italien ... naja, zum Glück gab's Alternativen und genügend Cafe Bar's wo wir dann doch einen genüsslichen morgen Espresso zu uns nehmen konnten. Was auch noch verbessert werden könnte ist das Wireless Angebot. In den meisten Hotels auf der Welt ist Wireless Access heutzutage im Preis inbegriffen, jedoch in vielen Hotels in Rom nicht und auch im Delle Nazioni nicht. Im Zeitalter von Smartphones und Tablets wäre dies ein gerngesehener Service, so kann man sich im Hotel gemütlich im Zimmer den kommenden Tag anhand von 'online Info' ein wenig vorplanen. Data Roaming ist ja bekannterweise im Ausland unanständig teuer ...! Hotellet må have en af de bedste beliggenheder i Rom hvis man er turist. Ca. 50 meter til Trevi og en lille kilometer (ca. 10 minutters rolig gang) til Piazza Spagna, Pantheon, Piazza Navona og måske 15 minutters rask gang til Colosseum og Forum Romanum. Selve hotellet er meget velholdt og så rent at man kan spise af gulvene. Derudover er det hyggeligt […] - ikke så stort - og restauranten/baren har en dejlig udendørs pavillion hvor man kan sidde og spise eller få sig noget at drikke. Vi havde to nabo-værelser, hvor vi fik låst døren op imellem dem, så vi i praksis havde en 'familie-suite' - men stadig mulighed for at lukke døren så man kan sove om natten.
