We chose this hotel based on past reviews and its central location to the sights we wanted to see. Boy, were we blown away! Service: we did order room service. However the staff was more than welcome to provide us recommendations and directions to local attractions. Many of them were bilingual. Cleanliness/condition: the room was as expected. Clean, […] with no signs of wear or worn out items. The rooms have universal plugs compatible with US plugs without adapters (don't forget, it's still 220 volts). Our only gripe was that on one night the hot water didn't work. They fixed it within an hour, though. Food: we elected to pre-purchase breakfast with our reservation. Impressed would be an understatement! Two staff members tended to a room of eight tables (16 seats). All the foods were freshly prepared, including the bread. Plus, by the second day, they had our coffee preferences memorized. By the way, they fresh-made each cappuccino or latte. No cheap, automated machine for this hotel! Overall: excellent experience! This hotel was very pleasant and comfortable. It is in a great neighborhood with great restaurants and cafes away from the tourists areas. The nearest metro is about 10-15 minutes away on the Red Line (Lepanto Stop). The hotel staff was absolutely fantastic. For Rome, this room was very clean and spacious. We would stay here again.

The staff is simply wonderful. There is no language barrier. The hotel is extremely difficult to locate in it's little alley, but most are situated as such. Initially, we arrived late via cab and were taken to the "annex" portion of the hotel. We booked the hotel instead of a hostel in order to have air conditioning. There was no air in this room which […] had to be 100 degrees with the window open. We spoke with the reservation clerk the next day and we immediately placed in the "hotel" portion with a very quaint room: mini-fridge, working AC, but a bathroom smaller than a cruise ship. Our linens and bedding were clean and fresh...no need for bedbug spray. Do NOT expect a hotel comparable to the USA...this is more of a clean dorm room. There are no amenities: no ice machines, no vending dispensers, no in-room coffee makers. We did have a mini-fridge and there was a computer in the hallway. We were here for 6 nights and though minimal in regards to US expectations, we were close to everything with wonderful restaurants nearby. Expect to walk plenty of steps, and there is no insulation regarding noise...forget your previous stay at the Marriott...this again, is more of a dorm room type situation. The breakfast offered each am by the reservation desk is wonderful, and the staff are welcoming and pleasant. The food is fresh, plentiful, and regardless of culture, accommodating to all. My wife and I spent 1 afternoon and night in Rome after getting off the cruise ship on Saturday morning. The Hotel Sant'Angelo was the PERFECT location for us! We had only a 20 minute walk to the Vatican, 20 minutes to the Collosseum, and only 15 minute walk to the Pantheon and Piazza Novona. This hotel is right in the heart of famous attractions in Rome, and is about a 10 minute walk from the Vatican and Piazza Navona. One small negative about the location was that at night, you had to walk about 2 or 3 blocks through an unlit section of the city to get there. Hotel Sant Angelo was conveniently located in a very nice neighborhood a few blocks from the western side of the Tiber. The room was clean and though it was on the small side, was very comfortable and cozy. The best feature were huge, beautifully shuttered windows, which afforded lovely city views. Great for a city centre hotel. We were looking for a decent place with a good price and location - and we got it. Yes - the bathroom is small - but clean. Room made up beautifully every day, air con that was sorely needed! The courtesy tray was a bonus but a little depleted - but we only had to ask for extra and we had it. The location was good and we loved the hotel decor, enourmous wooden doors and huge staircase. We stayed in the annex which is only about 10 doors down. kids loved the lift, i refused to go in it! We took a chance on this hotel and we were happy we did. The problem is that this hotel tries to put people into a different hotel down the street. I think this is the reason that the reviews are inconsistent. They tried this with us but we insisted on staying at Sant'Angelo and they found us a room. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Make sure you ask for the annex (Hotel Angel) if you are a big person or if you are travelling with someone else. the shower is a joke. I am 110 lbs and couldnt fit in there. I asked to move rooms and they didnt have a problem, I was placed in the annex; a lot bigger and more comfortable. This hotel was different. The conceirge was in a different building than our room. The floor below us was lawyer offices. It was not recently updated however it was clean and we always felt safe. There was a working safe in room. The bathroom was tiny but it was fine (the shower had a issue, it was not draining fast enough). The weekend trip was amazing! We did everything we had planned and more! The location of the hotel was perfect. A short walk to the vatican, nearly next door to Saint Angelos Castle and a short walk to the Trevi fountain, Spanish Steps and the Piazza Navona. Hotel - Ideal location, clean hotel and rooms, kettle and hairdryer in rooms, staff very polite […] and helpful. The downside was breakfast. Dont get me wrong, the continental buffet breakfast was lovely but you had to be there early to see any of it. Our second morning was a 9am breakfast and it was a fight to get the last bread roll. I had to make do with a croissant and ham left behind by the previous guest and share a tea bag with my sister.(we had to clear our own table). I would also suggest bringing your own tea bags as the hotel ran out of black tea, they also didnt leave any in our rooms apart from 2 when we first arrived. By the final day, I had learned to ask for everything. Managed to get breakfast and tea by asking direct, rather than waiting till it appeared on the buffet tables. Perhaps its the Roma Way!!! Overall I would still recommend the hotel but woudl suggest to give the breakfast a miss unless you were prepared to fight for it! Read more

Ett lite ovanligt hotell, med en liten reception en trappa upp. Vi hade ett rum för tre personer, dvs en extrasäng. Inte så stort rum, men det funkade. Badrummet var litet, med en 70x70 duschkabin. Sköna sängar och lugn gata gjorde att man sov bra. Fukosten var ingen höjdare, med personal som inte hade så bra koll. I receptionen däremot var de otroligt […] hjälpsamma med tips och biljettbokningar. Hotellets läge är bra, med såväl Spanska trappan som Vatikanen inom 15 min promenad. Gammelt stilfuldt hotel, meterhøjt til loftet, og fyldt med charme ! rigtig god service, og meget hjælpsomt personale. Beliggenheden er også fin, med korte afstande til de forskellige seværdigheder. Det eneste negative jeg kan komme i tanke om, er en støjende og defekt aircondition - men ellers var alt ok.

Hotel is centraal gelegen (in een goede buurt) perfect voor een stedentrip. De kamers zijn schoon en netjes. Wij hadden op onze eerste dag geen warm water, omdat de boiler stuk was, maar hiervoor werden wij gecompenseerd. Dus op zich was het geen probleem. Wat wij als erg fijn hebben ervaren, is het ontbijt!! Het ontbijt was elke ochtend heel lekker […] en zeer divers. Vi reste dit för en längre weekend. Rummen var nybäddade varje dag, vi fick bra tips i receptionen om vad vi kunde göa i Rom. Minus var att det ständigt pårlade i ventilationen och att bubbelbadet inte fungerade. La prima impressione - forse per l'arrivo in serata - non è stata entusiasmante, mentre il giorno seguente - anche dopo la colazione in una saletta molto accogliente, con un buffet di rara articolazione e qualità […] (anche in hotels a 4 o 5 stelle) - ci è dispiaciuto non poter restare oltre. Unica nota: poca chiarezza (nell'hotel stesso o nel sito 'hotels.com') sulla colazione del bambino ospite nel letto con i genitori; l'hotel non dispone infatti di quadruple, proponendo invece - in caso di minori di 5 anni - il pernottamento del piccolo nel 'lettone' dei genitori ; il prezzo pagato era dunque forfettario, ma la struttura ha sul momento preteso il pagamento di un supplemento colazione per il bambino; il tutto è stato comunque chiarito in pochi istanti a fronte della presentazione dell'attestato di prenotazione di 'hotels.com' (che è dunque fondamentale recare con sè, salvo future maggiori precisazioni sul sito stesso al momento della prenotazione) Read more

Отель очень удобно расположен - пешком и до Ватикана и до центра. Билеты в Ватикан смогут для вас заказать на ресепшене. Трансфер до аэропорта на МБ е-класса - 49 евро :) При этом билет на автобусе от аэропорта до Трайн-стейшен порядка 5 евро, от станции до отеля на такси - 20 евро. Лучше заказать завтрак, он вполне приличный.
