First, the positives: 1. Very easy walk from Termini Station to the Hotel 2. Subway right outside the front door of the hotel allows easy access to the Subway Station (however, Subway system in Rome is not like NYC as far as locations) 3. Very clean room and no complaints about staff 4. Good breakfast which was always well stocked 5. Quiet Rooms, even […] when located by elevator. The negatives are as follows: 1. Small room, however it was typical for a NYC room size so I didn't expect much more. 2. The location of the Hotel, while nearby the train station, wasn't very close to many of the main stites you will want to see, forcing you to either walk over 30 min to get to the sites, take a bus,cab, or subway. Overall I would recccomend the Napoleon Hotel, for the money in Rome I was satisfied but not blown away. Read more

The Napoleon hotel excels at customer service. The concierge was always willing to help with directions, confirming dinner reservations, maps and they even sold cards to the Rome subway. The nearest fitness facility was over a 10 minute walk through dark roads ( very hard to find) and cost 18 Euros per day out of pocket. Although the area around the Hotel Napoleon is somewhat unappealing (which is a fairly recent change), there is a lovely small park immediately across the street, a subway entrance (A/red line) right outside the entrance, and a nice wine shop next door. Wonderful experience here. Room size was a little small but comfortable. Bathroom was small but again adequate. Hotel was beautiful and the breakfast was included and very good. Skip the "American coffee" as it was not good but the cappuccino was great. The best part is that there is a metro entrance literally just outside the front door. This was our 2nd time at the Napoleon hotel and it did not let is down. The room was large and climate controlled. The breakfast was a nice continental one and all services you expect were provided. The location is the best, very close to the metro and walking distance to the train station. I would definitely stay again.

Very nice location for tourists using the Metro. Rooms are very small. It may just be a culture thing but staff seems to get anoyed very easily with non-locals. But over all we were satisfied with our stay at Hotel Napoleon.

Nice hotel and great location. The subway station was right outside the door which was very convenient. The room was very clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly. My only issue was the wi-fi. It didn't work so well for skyping. I guess it just wasn't fast enough. Other than that we had a very nice stay.

The hotel staff was great. The lift was broken so the bellhop brough our heavy bags up after showing us our room. The concerierge gave us a map and color coded it with highlighters in the areas we should visit for shopping, landmarks etc... The breakfast was a very good way to start off the day. room prearrival shows twin bed. the bed actually is a little roll-away on wheels, very small-definitely smaller than a standard twin bed. inadequate wall insulation between rooms. i was kept awake one night by guests coming in at 1:am one night and there voices kept me awake until 4:00 am.

My husband and I stayed at the Napoleon our first night in Rome and they were kind enough to store our large bags for 5 days while we traveled to Florence. The service is so personal you get to know everyone on a first name basis immediately. The front desk managers were always ready to drop what they were doing to help us plan our days - sharing tips […] about buses, the Metro, walking routes, and they even set up a tour of the Vatican museum where the guides picked us up at the hotel and delivered us home afterwards. The marble bathrooms were upgraded recently but the rooms' furnishings could use upgrading as well. Nevertheless, the rooms were clean, the beds comfy and the linens spectacular. The hotel's intimate restaurant is very good, the Wi-Fi is reliable, and the breakfast cappuccinos molto bene. There is a laundromat a few blocks away - a 5 minute walk, and several excellent trattorias in the neighborhood. The hip Osteria Angeleno (pasta to die for) is literally around the corner. Napoleon was your typical European Hotel. As far as American standards, the room was small, but there was a fridge, t.v. and a decent size bathroom. We had a nice 4 night stay at this hotel as it is definitely well situated just 1 Metro stop from Termini train station and near several restaurants, conveniences stores, discount clothing stores, and a park. The staff was very friendly and there is a nice restaurant and bar and fancy meeting open area with comfy chairs and tables on the floor above […] ground floor. But the room itself and particularly the bathroom was small for a 4-star hotel. The shower didn't even have a soap tray or shelf to hold soap and shampoo, and there was no counter space by the sink. We stayed at a 3-star hotel when we got back to Rome after our cruise and this had more bathroom space and was easier walk to Termini station. Read more

The hotel is in a good location being a 10 minute walk to Termini station and a 15 minute walk to the Colosseum. We were impressed with the size of the room, it was very spacious. The concierge was very friendly and helpful in finding us a nice restaurant to go to in the evening to fit our needs. This was an older hotel well maintained. Reminded us of the upper west side in NYC. Many side walk cafes and small restaurants. Fairly close to the central train station, metro and bus station. They had a FREE wine tasting on Friday night including some very nice apertives.
