the hotel was your typical european smaller hotel. breakfast was great! the area is not far from the trevi fountain, spanish steps, piazza del popolo, train station, etc. They were very helpful at the front desk with ways to get around the city to all of the sites. the room was quite small but was clean and nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

We thoroughly enjoyoued our stay at Hotel Gambrinus Rome. Fabio and the other staff were very welcoming and friendly, and easily arranged for a taxi to pick-up and drop-off at the airport. Booked a classic double room, plenty of space and very comfortable. Excellent breakfast buffet selection available at sensible hours. Bit of a walk to / from the […] city centre but close to local buses and only a short drive to attractions. The hotel is in quiet area with 3 bus stops away from centre termini and sightseeing point; with walking around 15 minutes ; and hotel think not up to the 4 star as mentioned (think around 2 to 2.5 star rating probably), room is tidy and clean but very small indeed with hanging TV with also the toilet shower is very very slow and not fit the standard […] to the hotel, the breakfast provide are small choice (suprise even boiled egg are not provide) and food are normal, but cost also less then other hotels so depend your budget spending but think the hotel need mention what cost match with what service provide that honestly to tourist ... "Worst experience in all of 10 cities we visited"
seriously guys, u are better off throwing ur money down the drain rather than staying at this place. I stayed there for 3 nights ending 20th June & had the worst experience ever. Where do i start??? 1. the bathroom had a shower cubicle which was collapsible but once opened, u couldn't use the loo!thats still OK but the shower cubicle had no partition […] from the bathroom so every time u shower, the whole bathroom floor gets flooded. when i told this to hotel staff, they were unhelpful & shrugged it off saying, this is the way it is. 2. They had disposable glasses in the bathroom but the water in the sink is not drinkable,it had visible rust coming out. we had to buy bottled water at our expense for 3 days. 3. The note on the bar fridge clearly said that if u store anything of urs in the bar fridge, it will incur a 20 Euro fee..I am not kidding. 4. The room was located next to the shaft & it was noisy as hell. There are other things as well but I have stayed at cheaper hotels that offer a better experience than the Gambrinus.. We had a very pleasant stay at Gambrinus. The rooms were clean and quiet. The staff were nice, especially the guy serving at breakfast. The breakfast buffé was very good. All tourist attractions were within walking distance. The shower was a bit small and cold at times. "Lagom hotell"
Vi tog transferbussen från Ciampino till Termini och hade inga problem att hitta till hotellet till fots. Rummet var helt OK, inte mer. Väggarna var klädda i en färggrann duk (!). Vi hade "utsikt" in mot innergården som snarare liknade ett schakt. Men rummet var fräscht och alltid välstädat när vi kom tillbaka på eftermiddagarna. Frukosten var med svenska […] ögon mätt inget vidare. Rostat bröd, marmelad, ost...ingen frukt eller grönsaker eller nåt. Tror det är likadant på de flesta hotell i Rom så... Personalen var hjälpsam och förklarade gärna hur man skulle ta sig med buss etc. och de var duktiga på engelska. Läget var bra. Inga problem att promenera till Vatikanen eller Spanska trappan. Vi är helt nöjda med vår vistelse på Gambrinus. Vi valde hotellet för läget och det hyfsade priset. Läget var riktigt bra, både buss och promenadavstånd till flera av Roms sevärdheter. Som glutenintolerant är det inte alltid så lätt att få tag på rätt mat. På Gambrinus var personalen som skötte frukosten kunniga om problemet (ovanligt) och ordnade utan […] problem fram glutenfria produkter som jag var mycket nöjd med. Rummet stämde väl överens med beskrivningen och det inklusive städningen var bra. Personalen i receptionen var mycket trevliga och hjälpte oss med taxi, busstider mm. Hotell Gambinus , Via Piave, er et hotell vi kan trygt anbefale, hvis du ikke forlanger" luksus". Her er det stille, meget rent (skift av håndklær og sengetøy hver dag) og hyggelig. Kort avstand til Via XX Septembre med gode bussforbindelser og små hyggelige kafeer/restauranter. Betjeningen er meget hyggelige, hjelpsomme og engelsk talende. Området […] er "stille" og hvor du kan ferdes trygt. Rett over gaten for hotellet får du kjøpt bussbilletter og flerdagerskort samt snacs og drikke. Vi vil gjerne bo der neste gang vi skal til Roma. My experience with Hotel Gambrinus was very good. The room and hotel in general was clean, the breakfast was good, the employees were friendly and spoke english well.
