Ten minutes by waterbus from Piazza San Marco, the quiet residential island of Giudecca, is the place to escape the crowds. The only monument of note is Palladio’s church Il Redentore, focus of a major festival in late July. The atmosphere is typically Venetian and there are a handful of restaurants.

We will go back to this hotel when next in Venice. 5 minute free water taxi back to Venice. Quiet. Best breakfast spread i have ever seen in Europe. This hotel was very easy to get to. We took Ali Lagauna shuttle from Cruise terminal. Cost 8 Euro. Dropped us in front of the door. Room very specious. Breakfast was really great. ( Pay on line verses paying there. ) Restaurants and bars were kind of Pricey. Shuttle to Zaitte, and Saint Mark were very easy and frequent. Gave us extra experience in Water. […] We stayed on April 1st and 2nd, it was cold and dreary. St Mark was full of people. Out of front door take right cross 2 bridges and there is a small pizza place. very good pizza for 7 Euros. All though the hotel is little bit out of way, it has very efficient shuttle system to get you back and forth to San Marcos. The rooms were very large, staff very courteous and helpful. Real gem on Guidecca, provides frequent shuttle service to Zattere and San Marco (free, timesaver, convenient) and is the last stop on the airport shuttle waterbus (real inexpensive option). The Hilton is a couple minutes walk from the Palanca vaporetto stop and nearby local restaurants. (The Veneto wines are great.) From the moment we stepped onto the dock that is the entrance to the hotel, it was wonderful. We were upgraded to a waterfront room (due to my HiltonHonors status), which was very special indeed. The rooftop pool was really popular by the end of the afternoon, and the Sky Bar next to it was the place to enjoy sunsets. The luxury outdoor restaurant, […] right on the water, was one of the best I have been to in many years, and with outstanding service. I wonder if it is be Michelin rated - it is expensive, however, so if you are looking for good basic inexpensive Italian food walk down the sidewalk to the first waterfront cafe you find. The Hilton hotel had free boats about every half hour to/from one of two major docks, including San Marco, which was also a blessing. Great for couples, and for business travellers meeting there. Saw several families with younger children, but there is not a lot for them to do. To get there, we took the public boat from the airport to the hotel, but it took about 2+ hours to get to the Hilton (which is its last stop) even though we were told it was a 1 1/2 hours trip. Great way to get the lay of the waterways and islands on the way there, however long. For the way back to the airport we opted for the private water taxi that made it there in less than 1/4 of the time, including going back through Rialto (making a last wish under the famous steps as we floated through) and the scenic waterways with all the gondolas. My husband and I ended a 2 week trek to Italy at this hotel in Venice and it was amazing. It is on an island across a canal from Venice which was great because Venice is VERY touristy and was nice to get away. There were restaurants and stores you could walk to and they have a free water taxi to 2 stops on the main island. We ate dinner at the hotel […] one night, it was very good but very overpriced for the other restaurants within walking distance. We stayed in an executive suite on floor 2 (view of water and Venice) and it was awesome! Access to the executive lounge with free drinks, snacks and breakfast. We went to the spa the first day and got a couples massage then hung out in the jacuzzi and sauna and relaxed in our room before dinner. Very Nice! We had an issue with laundry we had washed (time issue, they didn't ruin anything) but they comped it so I felt they made up for the mistake. This was an excellent choice. Definitely the most spacious hotel in Venice. This hotel was built in a converted flour mill and so all the spaces are much bigger than a typical Venice hotel. All in all we loved our stay at the Hilton Molino. The guy at the front desk was fantastic and upgraded our room when we checked in. We got a gorgeous room with a view of the water. The room itself was extremely comfortable and very well appointed - awesome shower, roomy bathroom with marble floors, comfortable bed, etc. The wait staff, especially in […] the morning in the delicious breakfast room (which was included in the price of the room) was overly generous and all spoke perfect English. (Best croissants and bacon and you must have the peach tea that's out on the table!) Here's what was a little annoying to deal with: the hotel is not on the main island so you have to shuttle or taxi every time you want to go there. The free shuttle is nice when you can get it. It doesn't run on any type of schedule (everything in Italy is late.) So you might find yourself waiting 30-45 minutes for it. Your other option is to take a public water bus which will cost you 7 euro ONE WAY. The island the hotel's on is way under developed (no shopping or decent restaurants within walking distance at all). So if you want a later dinner and don't want to get on a water taxi to the main island (20 minute drive) you're eating dinner at the hotel which we did one night and was over priced and underwhelming. All in all we LOVED Venice and would highly recommend it. Take a gondola ride, it's worth it and they're flexible on price. Running out of room here so I need to wrap it up. Enjoy your trip!
