For visitors arriving by rail or by bus, Cannaregio is Venice’s front door and the start of the Grand Canal. It sees a lot of passing traffic in terms of canal boats and visitors en route to San Marco, but is otherwise quieter and less touristy than central Venice. Points of interest include the Ghetto area (the original Jewish enclave) with its museums and the majestic Ca d’Oro palace, one of the iconic buildings of the Grand Canal.see all hotels in Venice
Nice hotel in Venice. Service was terrific. One draw back, we were in the annex which has a great large room but no wifi in the room. Had to go to the lobby for wifi. Other than that a great choice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great for a stay in Venice"
Family of four, two adults and two grownup boys. Room was large and very comfortable. The bathroom had the best view of the canals, was impeccable and had 110V outlet good for charging my sons DS. The air conditioner worked fine and the Internet worked without a problem in the room. Breakfast was complete and included in price. The staff was very nice […] and multilingual. Venice is a city were you will do a lot of walking to get to know it well. These hotel was well located near one of the Vaporettos stop by the same name. We would definitely stay their again. Hotel Ca' d'Oro is a wonderful property in a terrific location. Convenient to everything. The staff was above and beyond. A family member left his cell phone in his room when we departed on a 7 day cruise. When we returned to Venice a week later he went back to the hotel and they had it in their safe waiting for him. Good breakfast too!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Gem of Venice"
Delightfully in the center of it all. 15 min walk to most everything. Piazza Di Roma boat drops u 5 min walk from hotel. Breakfast is comprehensive and elegantly european. Clean, hospitable and huge bathroom. Loved my privacy. Wished for more English Satelite channels on tv.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Our stay at Ca' d'Oro was wonderful. Breakfast was simple, but good. It isn't located directly by St. Mark's square, but the walk to any part of the island is very doable: hotel reception is glad to help. We found the location to be rather ideal. Being away from the crowded, tourist areas made for peaceful nights. Our room had a view of a quaint canal; […] though, virtually all views of the city were rather awe inspiring. Very nice stay. Location perfect. Pleasant small rooftop terrace. Good a/c in rooms and that is a must in summer.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great staying experience!"
The location was great-- not too far from the water bus stop, not too far from the main attractions, but just far enough to get away from the tourist hustle and bustle. The staff was SUPER nice. My room was small, but quite enough for one person. The internet was free and fast in the room. The breakfast was standard European hotel breakfast. I would […] definitely stay here again. "Wonderful experience start to finish!"
Great experience start to finish! The staff was so helpful and friendly! We were given a map and dinner suggestions and they happily answered any questions we had! We also needed a water taxi on the day we were leaving and it was right outside the door. One of our favorite experiences there! Would definitely stay again!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Quiet, scenic, comfortable hotel"
We had a great three night stay and were sad to leave. The room was quiet and clean with a Venitian glass chandelier and fabric wall covering. We could see a canal from our window even though we had a basic room. The roof deck was good place to see a different side of the city. The included breakfast was great way to start the day and included fruit, […] meat and cheese, yogurt, pasteries and cold and warm drinks. The room and bathroom were not very big, but was a quiet place to rest when we wanted a break from exploring Venice. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel in a good location"
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It is in a good location and close to a water bus stop, restaurants and shopping. Main attractions are within a short walking distance. My room was small as I was a single traveller and I expected it. The room was very clean and had everything I needed. My room was next to the elevator but it was never a problem […] as I never heard it while in my room. The room had a nice AC and the bathroom was spotless. The staff was great and helped me whenever I needed it. The breakfast that was served was very good and sufficient for me. My only problem was that the credit card machine broke and I had to scamble to get enough cash to pay the bill. Overall this is a great little hotel and I would recommend it highly. "wonderful trip to venice!"
This hotel was very comfortable, the bathroom though small was very clean and y\updated. All hotels in Venice have small rooms, but this is to be expected in the old city. Our 2 boys were in the room with us in 2 single cots so it was crowded but we were not in the room much. the continental breakfast was great and of course so was the coffee!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"An excellent choice"
We found that the hotel was well located and well kept, near everything but out of the crowded streets. A small but satisfying breakfast and a well appointed room complemented a very helpful staff for suggesting tours, events and other services.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel was convenient to all major attractions in Venice and just off a nice 'strada' with many fine restaurants, yet it was quiet and cozy. It is so tucked away it is almost hard to find at first, even though it has signs from the main street . if you look for them. It was worth looking for however, as it is through an arched alleyway, tucked in a cute […] little courtyard. Very charming!Staff was helpful and freindly. Our room was spacious and beautiful with a large bathtub and shower- and immaculately clean. We were not able to partake of the free breakfast due to an early flight, but the desk clerk made us a fresh cup of expresso before we departed. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Clean, Quiet, Lovely, and on a Canal!"
The hotel was very clean, private, and best of all - on a small, quiet canal. When we arrived after a long, but nice 11 hour night train from Paris, we walked straight to the little space near the canal and the view! The staff were very courteous at the front desk and the room was beautiful - we even had a canal view! We had a large, air conditioned […] room with queen bed and two cots for our teenage daughters. Nice, simple breakfast was included. The hotel staff arranged for a complimentary boat ride to Murano Island for a short tour of a glass blowing factory and a guided visit to the show room. Hotel is barrier free on the first floor. Roll-in shower was a bit awkward, but it was better than nothing, which is usually the case in Europe. "Nice hotel in Venice"
Hotel Ca' d'Oro is off the beaten path in Venice, which makes it a nice place to stay if you want to get away from the crowds. The staff were helpful, and the place was clean. It actually looked like they renovated our room and bathroom recently. We had a deluxe double room which had two twin beds pushed together. The beds were firm and the shower was […] small, but that seems to be a very common thing for Italy. There was no view of the canals from our room unless you stuck your head out the window and looked to the right. Breakfast was typical for Italy - pastries, cereal, yogurt, sliced deli ham & cheese, toast, coffee (cappuccino, espresso, and American coffee), etc. The hotel had a roof top balcony that we never saw, but I would have liked to. The hotel will also arrange for a free water taxi to one of the Murano glass manufacturers and a free tour. Nice perk that's totally free! The location was also convenient because we were less than a 10 minute walk from the Ca' d'Oro water bus stop. The only challenge is finding where you're going in Venice! Great hotel though. I'd stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Location in Venice"
I have been to Venice three times now. The first two times I stayed at another hotel right on the Grand Canal. But this time I wanted to stay in a hotel that was in the middle of the local residents.... and I found that place when I picked Hotel Ca' d'Oro. What a great find! Of course we got lost after being dropped off by our water taxi (we didn't […] use the taxi service that brings you do the door of the hotel), but what's visiting Venice without getting lost?! Once we found the hotel we were shown to our room. Our luggage was in Rome, so the receptionst at the desk, made calls for us, and made us feel that they would do everything in their power to help us, so that we could enjoy our trip and not worry about luggage. There are great places to eat near the hotel... every night we enjoyed wine and appetizers at a local wine bar just a few yards from the hotel entrance. We had a canal view room that was fantastic! We were within a few minutes walk to the Rialto, but I never felt the rush of tourist and crusisers. I can't wait to go back to Venice, and I certainly will stay at Hotel Ca'd'Oro again. I would recommend this place to anyone that wants to see the real Venice. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Great little hotel that is ideally located for everything you want to do in Venice. It's 5 minutes walk from either Ca d'Oro or Fondamente Nove vaporetto stops with lots of restaurants and shops close by. "Clean, well situated hotel"
The Hotel Ca' d'Oro was a good hotel choice for Venice. It's central, and within walking distance of all the main attractions. It's tucked away up a side street, but that means it's quiet. Our flights to Venice were badly delayed and we arrived very late, but I had phoned and warning them, and the chap on the desk was very obliging. In fact, the staff […] in general get 5 out of 5 - couldn't fault them. The room and bathroom were a bit small, and there was no tea/coffee making facilities, although room service was available 24/7 as far as I know. The room was clean, the TV had 100's of channels (although they were nearly all Italian), the bed was comfortable, there was no shortage of towels and hot water. Breakfast was a typical European style buffet with breads, croissants, ham, cheese, yogurts, cereals, teas, coffee, juice, fresh fruit, etc. A really good spread, considering it was included. The hotel itself is picturesque, with a lovely canal entrance and archway, and a fantastic sun terrace up on the roof. It was February, so we didn't hang around up there. Must be great in summer with a glass of wine. All in all, a very good hotel, but only gets 4 stars because of the room size. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Excellent location, great service"
I really enjoyed my stay at Ca' d'Oro. The staff was very friendly, my room was excellent value for the money. The only suggestion I would make is to perhaps make it more clear on the website how to arrive at the hotel--the numbers are not "typical street" numbers so that when one gets off at the Ca'D'Oro vaporetto station one turns right, and follows […] the numbers in the winding streets and eventually the hotel appears. Lovely cosy hotel in convenient location, equidistant - 5 mins each - from the Grand Canal and Fondamente Nove, which is the airport water bus's second stop. Thus airport transfers are quick and easy. Very quiet location but a bar, several good restaurants and a minimarket are all nearby. Breakfast buffet was good with fresh bread and pastries, cold […] meats, cheese, eggs, fruit, cereal etc. My only complaint is that the hot water was a bit erratic and thus the shower sometimes tepid, also the floor under the single bed was dusty and fluffy!
