Breakfast, lunch and dinner is served at Gallery Restaurant. At Skalholt bar, a light bar menu is also available along with wines, whiskeys and cocktails to name a few. We welcome our guests to see and enjoy our impressive collection of vintage wines in our wine cellar prior to an unforgettable dining experience each night.
On site, we have a fitness room with a stationary bike and a stair master. Additionally, all guests receive complimentary access to World Class Laugar, the largest fitness center and geothermal swimming pool in Iceland. A massage room is also on site for our guests to receive treatment.
Our 24 hour concierge is more than happy to provide inside tips on the best options for day trips, sightseeing, dining and nightlife in Reykjavík and around the country. "Great neighborhood, great price"
Located in a quiet residential neighborhood within easy walking distance of downtown (5 to 10 minutes depending on where downtown). Especially on weekends you don't want to be on the noisy main streets where the bars and restaurants are in Reykjavik. This place has a lot of character -- original paintings, prints and maps in the halls and rooms, and […] the concierge and reception staff offer friendly, personal service. Within a few blocks are a bank, two bakeries where you can pick up breakfast, a supermarket, a lovely park surrounding a lake, and a major bus stop for city buses (though if you have mobility issues, be forewarned it's on a hill so the walking is not flat). You can arrange to take "Golden Circle" tours at the front desk and get picked up at the hotel. Excellent gourmet restaurant on the premises, and a somewhat less expensive and fun seafood restaurant around the corner. The neighborhood is charming and very safe at night. Also be aware the "fitness room" is one of the hotel rooms with a treadmill, a stationary bike and a TV, period. They give you a voucher to use for free use of the fitness and pool facilities at the Laugardalar. The pools out there are vast, with several hot tubs; didn't look at the fitness room, but had a great time swimming. My husband and I have just returned from 8 days in Iceland staying at Hotel Holt. We both felt that the hotel was fantastic and that staying here was a major part of a great "Iceland experience".
