All in all we had a good experience here. It's about a 5-10 minute drive outside downtown Reykjavik. There were other hotels right in the downtown area that would have made it walkable to go out to the shops and restaurants, but luckily we had a car so this was fine. The hotel has been recently renovated and I found it to be quite comfortable. Not much information in the rooms with regards to hotel facilities and services, I had to keep calling reception to find out about wifi, room service etc. Reception staff are the not that friendly or warm/welcoming. Great pool and spa. Nice park and running or walking area accross from the hotel. About a 20 min. walk from downtown but a shuttle was available. The large open space seemed to make it easier to catch tour buses and rides.

Natura was not near City Center, but they were very accommodating, including a free shuttle running several times a day and most tours will pick you up at your hotel anyway. It was the nicest hotel we stayed at, and we stayed at several in Reykjavik. The restaurant wasn't "discount," but prices were ok and the food was amazing.

The hotel is located literally 100 feet from the Reykjavik Domestic Airport but across the air field from the airport terminals. I encountered a horrible check-in person initially but later found a fantastic front desk person to balance out my experience. There is a spa in the hotel. The hot tub and pool are colorfully lit and have a nice atmosphere […] as long as young kids are not splashing in the pool. There's also a nice workout room with free weights, dry and wet saunas. At the hotel restaurant, Satt, get the buffet for 5,500 Kronu if you are hungry, it's worth it. The deluxe rooms are much nicer than regular rooms but obviously cost more. My queen bed was actually two twins pushed together, which I didn't appreciate. There's not much else to do at the hotel. I found nicely groomed walking paths across the street. Very much enjoyed the amenities of this hotel (stayed 3 nights) and used it as a base for going into the old city center as well as leaving the city for day trips. Great morning breakfast spread. Good hotel with good service. I stayed with my sons( 17 and 9 y.o). It's 10 minutes walking distance from "warm beach" and 20 minutes from downtown. They have free shuttle service to take you to downtown but we did not use it. We enjoyed walking. Local airport is next to hotel. We did not hear any noise in our room. If you love Iceland as I do, but you can't see how the unusually high charges at other Reykjavik hotels can be justified (they can't except for the fact that people pay them!) you'll like this hotel. The rooms are comfortable and clean, although smallish as European rooms often are. The old Reykjavik airport is literally next door. I never heard a […] thing when I was inside and the airport would be very convenient for anyone wanting to take a short flight on one of the ciuntry's regional carriers. The hotel staff is VERY courteous and helpful. I've stayed there several times over the long life of the hotel, and I've never been unhappy with it. I might pass on the breakfast next time, though. It'sa buffet and in days past it was a great presentation of Icelandic foods - skyrr, many cheeses, excellent breads, fish, etc, etc. but that has slipped a bit. There's a major expansion going on this summer (2012), seeming to double the hotel's size. This hotel is about a 30 minute walk to downtown Reykjavik along well-kept walking paths. I stayed at this property all of last week; it was a tremenous disappointment! It was far away from everything, and the advertised shuttle only ran 3 times in AM and 3 times in PM . A light in my room never worked, even though maintenance was supposed to fix it twice. A step down from the entry to the bedroom was dangerous especially at night; the bathtub […] was slick, and there were no hand rails. The only toiletries were a bottle of hand soap and another one in the shower that was supposed to be bath soap, shampoo, and conditioner! The travel desk booked my airport return bus at the wrong time, and I was not informed until an hour before I had to leave. I only talked to one waitress who appeared at all glad that I was there! Front desk staff often talked to each other when I approached them with a question, rather than talking to me. The one time that I could ride the shuttle, a sign in the right lower front window listed additional AM and PM shuttles. I copied them down while on the bus! I stayed in town to eat dinner on Sat. night and arrived at the shuttle stop to go back to the hotel. I was told that I could not get back until 10:45! It was then 7:15. Thank goodness for the extended daylight since I had to walk the 25-30 minutes to return to the hotel. Cabs have to be called ahead of time and charge outrageous prices. Tours also usually dropped off guests at this site last. l'd never call it a four-star property! Read more

This hotel was perfect for us. We like to walk so the 15 minute walk into town was just right. The hotel also gives you a map with hiking and biking trails around the area which were short (3-6 miles) but still nice. The service was very good, once we got used to Icelandic culture. When you approach an Icelander, you have to speak first and ask for […] service, otherwise they will ignore you until you do. The hotel was very nice and the rooms clean, if not on the small side. The bathroom was super tiny but did the job. Privacy was not to be had as the bathroom had a large gap at the top of the door so anything you did in there could be heard from the room, which made it hard to let the other person sleep in. Also, the walls are thin so bring earplugs, normal for Iceland. The hotel had story night on Thursday, which I highly recommend. They also have a shuttle that does into town but only makes one stop that isn't that far from the hotel. It would be more helpful if it had a stop in downtown and uptown. We never used it since it was just as quick to walk back. The food was adequate but it may be worth the trip to go into town and try the delicious fare for the same price. We did a hike up to Perlan, the science center at the top of the hill, and it was a good walk and a great view. We also saw a bunny while in the woods, which was unexpected. I would stay at the Natura again and do some of the day trips that Iceland Excursions does and picks you up at the hotel. Read more

We were there a week... We had a deluxe room which is about the size of a normal room in the USA and never heard a plane...but heard everyone above and around us. The cleaning staff had issues with removing dirty glasses.. they didn't like too. And the electric water heater for tea ... had water in it when we got the room..( it was tucked away in the […] closet) who knows how long that water sat there so we never used it. We tried the breakfast one time and never ate at the restaurant. The web site states if you are coming from North America you can check in at 9:00 am ..we were not allowed to check in till 10:45 am we got there we got there at 8:30 am. So over all it was ok. Stayed at the Reykjavik Hotel Natura, which was undergoing a renovation and upgrade. The staff went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. They provided electrical adapters, a fan upon request, and helped us book things such as a rental car or day tours. The room we stayed in was next to the small Reykjavik airport, so the planes could wake you […] up in the morning if you are a light sleeper. But having a fan drone in the background as white noise really helped. The hotel is across the street from The Pearl, which is really a cool place with an observatory and a great restaurant as well as hiking trails and lots of bunnies. It's about a mile and a half from town, which isn't bad if you like to walk. The walking trails are great to and from the hotel into downtown. You can also rent bikes, or, if you do a day tour, the drivers pick you up right out front. I got a pedicure at the Natura spa in the lower level. It was very relaxing. The location of this hotel is awful unless you don't mind $20 taxi rides. The free shuttles are infrequent and inconvient. In March, there were no sidewalks on the busy streets surrounding the hotel. Maybe walking is possible months, but no guarentees. The hotel supposedly has a bar and pool. Both are closed for renovations. The staff claims to make […] up for this by offering to drop you at the pool. The shuttle driver would only drop us at one location downtown nowhere near the pool and no one is going to pick you from the pool. When I complained about this at the desk, they said that the driver would drop me at the pool. This clearly wasn't true, because he didn't. I asked for a reduced rate, because the pool had been the hotel's only selling point which they refused. They also refused to comp breakfast which seemed like an easy solution. It is an unremarkable buffet that's just sitting there anyway. The hotel is clean enough and the staff is competent. Just don't expect to get what you pay for and don't expect the staff to care. When we checked in, one light switch didn't work and was immediately repaired (within 10 minutes). I asked for a refrigerator on arrival and got one, also within a few minutes. Since we had flown overnight and arrived with our children, I asked if they could make up the sofabeds for sleeping, which they did immediately as well. Service was remarkably […] good throughout our stay. Staff was helpful in finding local activities and providing directions. Hotel was under repair during our stay and only about 1/3 of the building was open. Pool was under repair as well. The hotel provided us with free tickets to any of Reykjavik's thermal pools, which turned out to be more interesting and a lot more fun than the hotel's would have been, so no complaints. Hotel is adjacent to the domestic airport, but there seemed to be only a dozen or so flights a day, none in the evening or night so noise wasn't a problem. Nice walking paths nearby. It was about a 15 minute walk to town. Most of the walk is around the perimeter of the airport. Once you reach the end of the airport, it's a short walk through a park to the center of Reykjavik. There are paved paths along the roads that circle the airport and the walk was easy. The hotel is across the street from the Pearl and there is a bowling alley up the street as well. There is a beach (with hot tubs) around 10 minutes walk away, but is only open a few days a week on the winter. Read more

we had a "delux" family room which was huge. very clean with good facilities.......they even put several large stuffed toys in the room for the kids to play with. we also stayed in the (more expensive) Radisson blu SAGA hotel and found the icelandair hotel far superior. down side would be that it is a 20-30min walk from the city with not so much around […] it. also, the rate that we booked had no breakfast included. but if you can live with that, then i think that this is a great base to explore iceland, esp if you have kids in tow. the major bus tour operators will pick you up directly from the hotel and the flybus will transfer you directly from the hotel to the airport (and vice versa). the hotel also provides a free shuttle to/from the city. Small room, not so clean, no top sheets, too far away from the city center. Taxis are expensive (about $20 one way) so I had to walk a mile and half each way every day to go to Reykjavik city center. The hotel shuttle is during odd times. Bar closes early, restaurant is overpriced. Also, you can hear doors slamming throughout the night.
