"Great Location"
The hotel is very nice and the location is perfect for exploring Reykjavik. The only issue is that it can be a bit noisy at night if you face the main square because there are a lot of bars and restaurants nearby that are open very late.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Awesome location, great experience"
Great location right in the heart of things. Great old-world charm without being old. I really enjoyed it.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel Borg"
All staff were extremely helpful and accomidating. The hotel itself could not be located in a better part of the city; central to most everything. My only suggestion is that the hotel invest in a health facility (e.g., either on premise or in partnership with a nearby gym).Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very nice with a terrific location"
If you are looking for a 5 star luxury experience, Hotel Borg is not it. Having said that, it is very, very nice with a terrific location. The main shopping and restaurant district is around the corner. The staff was attentive and service oriented. The room was comfortable and well maintained. The furnishings were also attractive with a cool art deco […] design. The hotel appears to consist of two connected buildings. Our 4th floor room was in the new building, facing the street. It had a pleasant view of a square. It was a little noisy at night because of a bar/restaurant at the street level. We did not mind, but if you want a quiet room you might want to specifically ask for one. Our connecting room was at the back of the hotel and our children said it was quiet. We would stay there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Borg Hotel is wonderful!"
This is a wonderful hotel. One of the older buildings in downtown Reykjavik. Our room on the 5th floor was perfect for a family, we have one young son. We had a great view overlooking the town, the church on the hill and even the mountains across the harbor when the sky cleared. This hotel is in an excellent location and you can walk everywhere. Reykjavik […] is small so walking everywhere is not a problem Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel Borg"
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The location was excellent. I was a little concerned about noise as some reviews had commented on it being noisy as there is a bar next door. I am a light sleeper and we were not bothered by noise at all.Genuine Expedia guest review

"The Hotel Borg in Reykjavik, Iceland"
Very nice Art-Deco themed hotel. Clean and neat with a great central location. Staff friendly. However, very difficult to park nearby because the street in front of hotel is closed most of the day. Also, we scheduled a double deluxe room and checked in Sunday morning around 2 AM. But the concierge put us in a double room. We realized this mistake the […] following Wednesday morning. They never realized this and when we explained our displeasure to concierge, they did apologize. However, they initially refused to reimburse us the difference (around $450 for five nights)! They suggested a complimentary dinner in their restaurant (Silfur) instead! We refused and they eventually credited us the difference; but I think they should have apologized either more sincerely or better compensated us. We just wish the country wasn't so exorbitantly expensive. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Extraordinary hotel, but can be very noisy."
Hotel Borg is in a great location, with many shops and restaurants very close by. The only problem is that at night it is very noisy because of the bar, and then first thing in the morning there is cleaning which can be very quite loud.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good spot!"
Nice Hotel and good service... Very good location! Had a feel of a scary movie inside though lolGenuine Expedia guest review
"Reyjkevik Rocks!"
When my husband and I arrived we were pleasantly surprised that our room was ready and we experienced a speedy check-in with no problems. Our room was small for a European hotel, however, it was comfortable and we had a nice view. The only drawback was that our room faced the main square in town and at night it tended to get noisy since the hotel is […] in close proximity to many of the local bars. Borg is a really nice hotel with very helpful staff. The staff was excellent in helping my husband connect to international calling in order to check in with his office during the trip. Also, they were great in reccomending day trips to take outside the city of Reyjkevik! The hotel restaraunt was excellent as well, a bit pricey but the food was amazing! Overall I would highly reccomend this hotel to anyone looking to travel to Iceland. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very comfortable and right in the centre"
Hotel Borg is in a lovely square right in the centre of Reykjavik. The rooms are fabulous, very comfortable, clean and well equipped. Bathrobes, slippers, wifi, minibar, toilettries etc... The restaurant was closed due to renovations so unfortunately we couldn't try the food which apparently is superb, the bar staff were very friendly but the receptionists […] left a lot to be desired (I may be a bit picky as I work in the same industry). Overall it was a pleasant stay and I would definitely recommend. I'd also recommend Cafe Paris which is directly across the square, lovely food and good atmosphere. "Good hotel let down by the kitchen"
The hotel is nicely appointed rooms are very good and the beds very comfortable. Its very central. It is not a cheap hotel so if you are on a budget better to choose another hotel. The kitchen lets the hotel down and at Euros 18 the buffet breakfast is silly price for nothing special. We were told to avoid the restaurent. Attached to the hotel is the […] Icelandic bar which is good basic bar for a beer ....the hot food whilst adequate was always served coldish so a good quality burger is served luke warm with cold oily potatoe strings...no thanks! Part of the problem is that they have not as yet discovered plate warmers. Again the food is very overpriced in this bar. We were able to eat out at quality restaurents so our stay was I would say very good indeed ...we have stayed before and will stay again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Hotel Borg, Reykjavik - in need of a polish"
I was excited to stay at the Borg, as I have a love of art deco and historical inns. The hotel has retained much of its original charm, and my room was very comfortable. However, the finishes were quite tired, for example chips in the paint and worn tiles in the bathroom, ratty edges on the towels. The hotel staff were competent, but stiff, although […] I was quite happy to be able to check in early, and stash my skis in a stoage room. I liked that there were artifacts on display from the hotel's past and from the original owner. The location of the hotel is fantastic, near to downtown Reykjavik and the waterfront, and overlooking a park. Breakfast was an option, although it was rather steep. My biggest beef with Borg was that I felt as though my room was in the maid's quarters. It was in a group of four rooms that was seperate from the other guest rooms, and could only be accessed by a service elevator. Overall, Hotel Borg was fine. It just needs a little more polish around the edges to restore it to its glory. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"pleasant stay"
Very good hotel in central location. It is convenient a bit noisy at night. Nice size room, very clean. However, breakfast was disappointing. There are nice pub and cafe around the hotel, so you should eat out.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Comfortable hotel, ideal location, great experiences"
Iceland just seems to work. Everywhere we went, the arrangements were impeccable and the locals were really friendly. Indeed, they couldn't do enough to make our short break there enjoyable and comfortable. The scenery was spectacular, the food excellent and we would recommend the Hotel Borg to anyone - a modern, simplified take on Art Deco style; also […] very conveniently located. This is not a country for travellers wishing to view the world on the cheap but we came away feeling we had had value for money. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Sentralt i Reykjavik / + Free WiFi - No gym"

Bra hotell, god frokost, hyggelig betjening. Fine sotre rom med gode senger. Eneste minus er parkering, men parkometre like utenfor hotellet der man betaler mellom 10:00 og 18:00. Noe støy fra nærliggende puber ved stengetid.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel Borg in Reykjavik, design downtown"
Hotel Borg has a rich history, art deco design, and is located on the same square as the Parliament. Has an excellent restaurant on one side and a popular pub on the other side. Many other cafés and restaurants in the vicinity. Comfortable rooms, though some on the back of the hotel may be noisy due to an airconditiong from a nearby bookshop. Free […] Internet.
