Founded by Vikings in 914, and famous for the eponymous crystal, Waterford is the oldest city in Ireland. The historic Viking triangle hosts many of the city's renowned monuments, including Christchurch Cathedral and Reginald's Tower, the oldest civic building in the country. The Spraoi festival, an annual August street arts and music extravaganza, adds to the cultural vibe of this maritime city.see all hotels in Waterford
"Disappointing hotel in Waterford"
Hotel s located directly across the bridge from the train station so it's a 5 - 7 minute walk to the hotel. The lobby is dark and small. Front desk staff isn't too friendly and didn't give us any information on the hotel or area. They did check us in quickly though. The decor in the room is disappointing. I must have misunderstood that the hotel was […] remodeled. There aren't any "extras" in the room (alarm clock, tissues, mini fridge, etc.) It was warm the two nights we were in Waterford, and the room did not have air conditioning which made sleeping very uncomfortable for two nights. I looked for a fan in the room and there wasn't one. Only one panel of the window opened up in the room so that didn't help much. Our room faced Bridge Street and with the window open, it was impossible to sleep. The cars and trucks driving by were really loud all night long!! The continental breakfast was average, nothing outstanding. Upon checkout a gentleman tried to charge me for the room that I had pre-paid for through Expedia. Thank goodness a woman who knew what she was doing assisted and confirmed that my card will not be charged again. I wold not return to this hotel, check out other hotels in the area - very disappointing. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"No parking. No view."
Fiasco trying to check in. Absolutely nowhere to park/unload luggage except the middle of the busy city street. No help offered by hotel. Just bad advice to park in the loading bay that was filled with parked cars that never moved. Hotel should have someone come outside and manage this personally when their parking is "permanently full for the evening. […] ". (Their description of the situation). Other city hotels physically send a bellhop out to help in these types of situations. Really unpleasant experience at a hotel we had really been looking forward to. "Do not stay here"
The rooms were jaded. In need of redecorating. Cigarette burns on the furniture. The breakfast was terrible. The first day there was no food at the buffet when we arrived. Eventually cold sausages and scrambled eggs were provided. On the second day the scrambled eggs were not cooked properly. They were so liquidy that a straw more useful than a fork. Booked room over four months ago as part of the last leg of a five stop your of Ireland, to find that the hotel allocate the rooms from 2pm. This resulted in having a disabled room(bathroom). We found this once we reached the room with the bathroom set for a wheelchair(sink was set just above your knees). This is not a four star hotel set on a main […] road. Very noisy hotel. music and young guests making noise in the corridors at 3am - 4am!!Genuine Expedia guest review
"not a four star hotel"
The hotel was adequate , the rooms were clean however we got a smell of stale smoke in our bedroom even though it was non smoking. The beds were very comfortable but the fittings in the room lockers and dresser were shabby. the breakfast in the morning was not worth ten euro and the hot breakfast was cold also there was very poor selection if you did […] not want a fry. Overall I was disappointed with the hotel and would not consider it a four star rating Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Basic but acceptable."
Small hotel, no pool or gym, patchy wifi. Rooms are modern and clean but small. Car park is akin to a driving challenge. Ok for a short business stay but there are better hotels in Waterford for leisure.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Sayed overnight in this hotel, was great location to where I wanted to go. Hotel room was not cleaned but they gave us a bottle of wine after we asked them to clean the room. No air conditioning in the room so had to open the window, onto a very noisy main street.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Really bad experience"
When we arrived, there was no parking for hotel guests as it seemed many restaurant/bar patrons had taken them all. The staff was not very accommodating. When asked for extra, which we needed for our son, I was basically sent back to my room to further search. The restaurant/bar staff were completely miserable. The guests in the room next to us were […] having, what sounded like, an "after party" from the bar at 5:00am. Not sure if it was an "off day" there, but this was bad and I don't even think I would go back to Waterford after all this! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Hôtel déconseillé, en état et de confor moyen"
Pas très bonne impression. La fenêtre de la chambre ne fermait pas bien, avec toute la soire vécue dans l'ambiance du balcon de la résidence d'en face où une femme arranguait les passants et chantait sur sa terrasse. La chambre était vieillote. Mauvais rapport qualité/prix. A éviter.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Ok läge, halvbra service. Däremot en mycket dålig frukost för att vara ett fyrstjärnigt hotell.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
