I travel a lot for work, and tend to stay in hotels ranging from two and a half to five stars. In general, I think Jurys Inn Christchurch is a perfectly good hotel. The room was clean and well enough maintained. My only complaint comes from when I wanted to iron some clothing, I discovered there was no iron in the room. There is a single shared ironing […] area on the fourth floor, in a cramped space with two threadbare half-ironing-boards, and nearly antique irons (no steam option here!). Oops. Excellent hotel, very friendly and accommodating staff. Beautiful foyer, bar, breakfast room. Excellent bar food, large portions. Beautiful fresh buffet breakfast with a large selection and beautifully displayed. We did not have to ask for anything. Pristinly clean in all areas with very convenient access through the foyer to the multistory carpark. Only […] gripe is our room was at the front allowing us to hear the cathederal bells on the hour unfortunately but, they were not that intrusive as I didnt hear them atall the first night. Great hotel, staff friendly, breakfast was great. On checking in I was asked if I wanted a room at the front overlooking Dublin centre and Christchurch or one at the back overlooking nothing but "quieter" - being a first time stay I opted for the former. Reader beware - Christchurch bells toll every 15 mins all night - like an everlasting alarm clock […] you can't turn off and they're only 200m away. This hotel is what I would describe as "absolutely fine". It's good value for money, clean and very functional. Great location especially for business purposes. Two negatives I would have is that whilst there is wifi in the hotel lobby there is no wifi nor can wifi be paid for in the hotel rooms and the bed is terribly soft.

There was no water for a shower in the morning and no cold water to brush my teeth. Severel customers were complaining about same to the manager. I received a phonecall from the manager who promised to e mail me but to date no e mail received.

I found staff to be very helpful, the room was of excellent comfort, the food menu was good and staff where helpful. There is a taxi rank right out-side the hotel so no waiting on taxis. Bus stops close but thats only if you need to get a bus out of the city as everything is close by. A really well situated hotel that is very close to the centre of the town and at a reasonable rate. The staff were friendly and efficient. Does its job perfectly adequately based on my only stay there to date. Location is very good. The weather was miserable, so I decided to eat in the hotel rather than in one of the city's many "eateries" and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the mean that was served up.

I used this hotel recently for a 3 day business trip and in the main it ticked all the boxes. When I'm not on holiday my main criteria is for the room to be quiet and for the first 2 nights that was the case. However this was more due to luck rather than anything else. For some reason my room had a door which led into the next room on the corridor (locked […] of course) and I assume the majority of the rooms are like this in the hotel. So, any noise from the room next to me could be heard very clearly because of this 'break' in the room wall. A very practical proposition when staying in Dublin. A word of warning, the adjoining car park is not part of the hotel and parking fees are substantial. Also, breakfast was not included in the cost of the room.
