Stayed there to go see a concert in the O2. I thought it would be closer but it's perfect if there's something on in the Aviva. The hotel itself was wonderful. The staff were very friendly and the room was very clean, warm and comfortable. The shower was gorgeous, I could have stayed in there all day. I visited a few friends in Dublin and stayed at Sandymount Hotel during these few days. Overall the visit was very enjoyable. It's only a few minutes walk from the closest DART station (Lansdowne Road) and if you're catching a match at the Aviva Stadium then it's your next door neighbour. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and had no problems […] answering any question I had. Good quality rooms as well. The only problem I had was that the floor creaked in the room and the hallways, and you could hear people walking past the room. That was a nuisance when you're trying to sleep. The hotel is lovely. The staff could not have been more helpful and obliging. Bar food was great - Big portions. The rooms were comfortable and a good size. Location is a little bit away from the city centre - about 15 euros in a taxi but there is a train station a 5 min walk away and for 2 euros will take you into the city. Furthermore the receptionists were so helpful directing us to the nearest cafes the next morning and they ran a shuttle bus over to the 02 arena for the concert we were there to see, at only 3 euro it was so much cheaper than a taxi. The reception staff were friendly, welcoming and very efficient. Our room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. We had a delicious meal in the bar - possibly the best home made burger and chips I've ever had. This hotel obviously prides itself on well trained, friendly staff as those who served us in the bar (particularly a young girl named […] T....) were at least as efficient and friendly as those at reception. Normally I would choose a 4 star hotel but this stay has made me rethink my attitude. "Going to the BT Young Scientists"
We stayed at the Sandymount Hotel as we were going to an exhibition at the RDS. The hotel is quite close to the RDS and very easy to get to from the hotel. We booked a room for 2adults and 2 children. When I booked I was told we'd get a room with a double bed, a single bed and a fold out bed but when we got to the room we were pleasantly surprised that […] we'd got a dbl and TWO single beds. The room was still very spacious and very comfortable and very clean. The radiator was adjustable so we could adjust it to our needs.The bathroom was fully equiped and the shower had very good pressure and easy to regulate the temp. We ate in the bar restaurant and all of us really enjoyed our food and the service was very good with the staff very attentitive. I have had a really good time during my 5 nights stay in Dublin. The hotel and its staff were perfect. Good amenities and a very comfortable room! It is also only 2 Dart stations away from the centre and has a nice walk to the beach ( only 10-15min walk) with amazing coastline views. The staff were so friendly and helpful - even when we had a crisis (lost purse). I was travelling with 3 Australian friends when this happened and the staff provided us with phone numbers and helped us to make phonecalls when necessary. Siobhan was so helpful and is a real asset to any hotel - she is a people person and knew how to cheer my friend up […] when she was concerned about losing her purse. Thanfully purse was handed in and hotel followed it up with a phonecall to ourselves once we had returned home.
