Our rooms were the smallest on the floor. We saw other rooms that were being cleaned and they were all larger. Makes me wonder if we are given the worst rooms because we are booking via a discount provider like Hotels.com.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Morgan Hotel - temple bar area Dublin"
The hotel has a great location, no doubt about it. The rooms were clean, but definitely not luxurious, they had basically futons for beds. The bathroom was clean. If you are a young, 21-24 year old looking for a great place to party - book here. But, if you are traveling with a family, adults on a weekend getaway, or traveling for any other reason than […] to have a hotel frat party, do not stay at this hotel. The music from the lobby bar permeated the entire hotel until 2:30 am, proceeded by loud young adults fumbling back to their rooms. Perhaps this only happens on the weekends - I wouldnt know. The couple we traveled with had to change their room twice because of the noise - but the staff was good about doing their best to try to accommodate them - kudos to the staff for that. We were told that parking could be validated if we paid at the hotel. But, we paid at the hotel and STILL had to pay at the parking garage. It was all wrong - but we didnt bother to go back. we stayed in your hotel think room number 402 and we were very disapointed with our stay. The room was so small and very cramped. We were looking forward to our stay in this hotel. the room was nice to look at but was incredibly disappointing. The 'double' bed was two single mattresses pushed together, not even zipped. which made for the most uncomfortable nights sleep we ever had. The hotel room was damaged & tired. The worst hotel I have stayed in in Dublin and I go to Dublin at least 5 times a year! "VERY DISSAPOINTED"
Thoroughly let down by the morgan - it seems to have immitated St martins lane morgans hotel group - bad staff, bad service and very tatty! The room had no mini bar so even if we wanted a glass of water we had to wait 15 minutes for room service, the room was getting very tatty. THE Breakfast buffet was 15 euro - when we arrived everyone had eaten everything […] so had to wait for 15 minuted. The cheff who seemed to be the only one working brought out eggs followed 5 minutes later by bacon followed 5 minutes later by tomatoes - COMPLETE DISASTER - when I asked for a vegetarian breakfast i was brough 3 hash browns and some sorry looking mushrooms. "terrible customer service and too expensive"
overall the hotel itself was very well presented, modern, clean and very central to the tourist areas. However, I booked this hotel as a present for my fiances birthday. we arrived on the saturday afternoon. check in was fast and everything went fine. went to the temple bar area that night which was brilliant and the bars were a lot cheaper than the […] hotel bar. we woke on the sunday morning to find that our mobile phones had been taken from our room along with a pair of designer sunglasses, while we were sleeping!! when i realised what had happened I immediately went to reception to report the matter where the staff seemed to be more interested in who was working when we got in that night (no-one at reception when we got back) and not the fact that our stuff had been stolen. I insisted that the police were called and the receptionist said she would contact them for me. I was also informed that they would check cctv and they could also check when the doors were opened. this wasnt the case. I waited an hour and went back down to be told that they had been too busy to call them. it took another two hours before the police eventually came. after i had dealt with the police i felt as if the staff wanted nothing more to do with our problem. the manager emailed me today asking how my stay was?? He obviously was oblivious to what happened. i replied to him and needless to say i have got no reply from him. I hope he see's this and gets back to me.
