"bad rooms!!!!"
the rooms were really in a very bad condition.I was moved a number of times.The first room didn't have any heating,the second room I was moved to smelled, the window didn't close and when I tried to take a shower the water came through the ceiling!!! "Unpleasant stay"
Looked like value for money when booked. Unfortunately if you book room only through Hotels .Com you get rooms which have seen better days,long ago. I was booked in to a room on first night which was next to some form of boiler. I asked to be moved next morning and was issued another room. Directly under the thre previous room. Still next to the boiler. […] This boiler switches on and off constantly all night long. I decided not to bother asking to move again. Bar food menu leaves a lot to be desired. I will not be back. The staff were lovely and it is a beautiful old house however it is ruined by the overpowering smell of stale cooking that hits you the minute you enter the lobbey and it permeates the stairs and hallways. Thankfully it wasn't in the bedroom. However if you open the window the cloying smell of frying wafts in from the kitchen. Unfortunately the food […] was just as bad from dinner to breakfast. The menu promises modern cooking but dry bland fishcakes cooked in batter does not quality as Thai fishcakes. I don't feel in this day and age it is appropriate to serve up a greasy overcooked chips accompanied by a burger served on a bun with about a pound of shredded chedder cheese on each half no matter how well presented. As for breakfast, tinned fruit cocktail instead of fresh fruit and withered rubbery prunes is not acceptable on any level. Room 127 was too near elevator. Very noisy. Room 127 should not be used. Health club was a joke. That was the reason I booked this hotel. My wife was very disappointed. Would not stay again and would advise my friends not to stay either.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
