Bunratty Castle Hotel

Traveling with husband, sister/brother-in-law. We stayed at Bunratty Castle Hotel because my sister wanted to see a castle and this fit the bill. The hotel is convenient to the castle and that is about it. The tourist pubs and shops are within walking distance. Our rooms were very nice, adjoining. Both were clean and well maintained, bed was comfortable […] and our windows opened. The bathroom exhaust/vent fan did not work and there was a huge wad of hair in the sink drain. Other than that, very nice. Wifi signal was very strong despite our being very far from the hotel lobby area. Read more

The hotel is beautiful. Walking distance of 5 to 10 minutes to the castle. Has a restaurant, good food and nearby 5 - 10 min walk 2 pubs. Also good food. Hotel itself was very comfortable and clean. Very nice stay

The hotel was close to Shannon airport & was wonderful after a long day of travel. Went to Dirty Nelly's across the street & next door to Bunratty Castle & enjoyed a few Guinness beers & a tasty meal. Would recommend to anyone. Bed was extremely comfortable, nice hot shower & friendly staff. Will stay again.

Loved this hotel. It's beautiful Arrived at 7:30am after 16 hr airplane trip to Shannon. They had a room available immediately. It was very nice and spacious. The scenery is gorgeous. You need a bathing cap for the pool (you can buy there) and kids hours end at 6pm. The pool was very clean and loved having a steam room after swimming laps. The tour […] of the castle across the street is great. My 2 year old loved chasing the chickens. The hotel could use some upkeep. There are several dings in the walls in the common space. But it's not bad enough that it would keep me from going back. I will definitely stay there again. Super convenient to get to from Shannon airport. Read more

Staff was very friendly and helpful, meals were good, grounds well maintained. The swimming pool was cool and the jaccuzzi was not hot. We enjoyed spending the day at Bunratty Park and being able to take a local bus to other cities. It would not be the best hotel for a person with difficulty walking as there are narrow hallways and many doors to go […] through. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel. Read more

There was glass outside of bathroom on floor and my daughter cut her foot. I called the front desk and they sent someone to vacuum but did not ask about my daughters condition. We were at the end of our trip to Ireland and the Bunratty Castle Hotel was our last stop. It was very close to the airport with easy on'off the motorway. The hotel was very nice close to some shopping and the Castle. We would stay there again and more nights. It was very clean, a lovely spot really.

Hotel is 10 minutes to Shannon airport. Airport had US custom clearance, so changing plane in the US was very easy. Bunratty castle & park, I thought it might be cheesy but in fact, park had active old post office, school and houses we can go inside, it was very interesting. Not many people in April, it was great. Hotel had spacious room with tub, lots […] of space to put things spread and big king size bed. Free wi-fi hook up in the room. Great italian restaurant and ok bar, TV was noisy. This was our third stay at the Bunratty Castle Hotel and each has been better than the preceeding. It was renovated after our first stayand is now a most inviting, welcoming, clean place to stay. Our room was beautiful, though not large, but spotless and very comfortable. Had dinner in the hotel restaurant and drinks in the hotel lounge, both excellent […] experiences, particularly the staff in the restaurant. Front desk staff outstanding.. needed a very early wake up call on last morning, 4:30, for very early flight out of Shannon. We stayed here our last night in Ireland for its convenience to Shannon Airport., and it was very easy to get to the airport. for a morning flight. The hotel was just off the highway and across the street from Bunratty Castle and Village (which is okay for kids - but truly not worth spending a day to see, when there is so much authentic beauty so close). […] The room was very nice, and clean on the surface, but when I pulled a cushion off the sofa - to check to see if it was a pull-out sofa, it was pretty digusting underneath: crumbs, hair etc. Clearly it had not seen a vacuum for a very long time. Staff not invested in being thorough. That's the overall feeling I got from this hotel. Looks nice, was comfortable, the staff did their job - but certainly were not really warm or hospitable. We were hoping for a bit better accomodations. The Air Conditioner in the room was on a timer and kept turning off. The hair dryer was mounted on the side of the desk instead of bathroom. Had to call down to front desk to find it. Wanted a drink for the room and could not find a soda machine or place to get a drink except for going to the pub. Because of a wedding in the hotel, they put us in the farthest room from the wedding party (according to the bellboy), but it was also the HOTTEST room in the hotel (according to the front desk clerk who helped us check out and also helped us with our baggage in the morning). We were, apparently, over the pool and beside the sauna. Plus, the air conditioning […] wasn't working and the windows wouldn't open more than a crack. They had a small, inefficient fan in the room (apparently knowing the room was horridly hot), but it did nothing to cool anything more than 2 centimeters in front of it! We kept cold cloths on us the entire night and didn't sleep more than a few minutes knowing we had 20 hours of flying to do the next day. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Bunratty. HOTEL WAS EXCELLENT,STAFF SO FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL,surpassed our expectrations. the Spa and leisure centre fantastic,we were there on the bank holiday weekend so thought it would be overcrowded but we had it all to ourselves in the evening,really enjoyed the entire weekend.

A fine looking hotel with plenty of parking, conveniently located close to Bunratty Castle and the Durty Nelly Pub. Lots of craft shops and restaurants within walking distance.Our room was very comfortable and clean with a nice view overlooking a water feature in one of the gardens. Good food and good service.
