"dissappointing"
the hotel definitly need alot of rework. you always have to ask twice for anything you need and even then the staff doesn't respond to your request. the hotel wasn't that clean: there were yellow stains on the bedsheets, the towels had a brown stain on them, the bathroom lights weren't working and the rooms had a peculiar smell like they haven't been […] cleaned in weeks. not worth the money. "Really Too bad."
The Ganges river view from the hotel is fantastic, especially when the morning sun is rising, so it is too bad and extremely disappointing that the current poor state of the hotel is just terrible. There are too many negative things to describe about this hotel, but the most important to me was all over lack of cleanliness and upkeep of the hotel. I […] was told when I inquired about the renovation, that it was complete, which is hopefully not true. Yes, they might have done an adequate renovation of the lobby (which never seems to be kept tidy and clean), but the rest of the hotel, stairwells, lawn, public balconies, restaurant and guest rooms are run down, scuffed, and in desperate need of painting and a good clean scrubbing. In the restaurant, I watched as they reset the tables between meals and they neglected to wipe them down from the previous guest...even though the table tops were wet with food/beverage spills from earlier eaters. Also, the tables that had a marvelous window-view of the river, were surrounded by dozens of dead flies, which seemed to have been there for awhile and where not cleaned up in the 24 hour period that I stayed there. This lack of attention in the dining area, made me very cautious about what I ate at the hotel, as I was worried that the kitchen was equally as unclean. They're currently doing an unsightly side-lawn renovation with a water feature/fountain near the spa entrance of the hotel, which was sort of ironic....I would suggest they focus their efforts on thoroughly cleaning the hotel and maintaining this cleanliness daily, getting new bed linens, which like other reviewers mentioned on earlier posts, are very stained. This made me wonder that they may have not been washed from the previous guest...even though, they hopefully were. I would also suggest, slapping on a fresh coat of paint on the walls, especially the stairwells which are in desperate need.
