"Very recommendable"
We had a very nice stay in Budapest (Pest) though it was to short. But the location of the hotel made it very easy to get around (by foot). Close to the walking streets, the great market hall, donau with its nice bridges etc. and of course some good restaurants too (try one called Karpatia close to the hotel). We loved this 5 day break over Christmas 2011. We had read all the reviews and some of them are frankly wrong. In a great location 2 mins walk from the Vaci Utea, the main shopping street(try el Cuctina - the Italian Kitchen for great food! & McDonald's "McCafe" for good tea! & at only 75c!) Jag bodde 6 dagar här, hotellet ligger väldigt bra till om man vill ha promenadavstånd till många sevärdheter men jag ifrågasätter deras 4 stjärnor. Hotellrum är antigen ut mot en större gata eller andra sidan huset, då mot ett annat hus som ligger väldigt nära. Hotellet var rent och städades ofta. Känns som underhållet var något eftersatt. Lite små […] skador här och där, jag hade en handdukstork på toaletten som inte gick att använda då den läckte vatten när den var på. I badkaret fanns det en del mögel i skarven mot kaklet. Deras WiFi uppkoppling var ett skämt, hastigheten varierade mycket men var oftast otrolig seg, som att sitta med 14.4 modem. Hotellet passar nog mer affärresenären som bara sover en eller två nätter. Hotellet havde en super god service, dog var der en del problemer med deres brusehoveder i hotellet som blev ved med at falde ned, så man hele tiden skulle holde på brusehovedet. Endte med at skifte værelse 4 gange indtil jeg fat et værelse hvor brusehovedet endeligt gad at sidde nogenlunde indtil sidste dagen. Ud over dette lille irriterende problem. […] Så er der ikke en eneste finger at løfte. Servicen var perfekt, personalet var rigtig venlige og hilste pænt på en hver morgen. Imidlertid var betjeningen noe kald, vi måtte mase om informasjon som hvilke rom vi hadde fått, hvordan komme seg dit etc. Her blir man ikke fulgt opp til rommet, ei heller info om fasilitetene ved hotellet. Sentralt hotell med gåavstand til det meste Budapest har å by på. Handlegaten, opera, synnagogen, trikker og metro. Mange gode spisesteder i nærheten.
