Very Central location. The hotel itself was nice, however, the beds and pillows were way too soft! My wife and I had aching backs by the end of our trip! Staff is friendly. Beware of the charge for local city taxes upon checkout.

The hotel meets the expectations of the Sofitel name. Superb service from the entire staff, especially the concierge. The buffet breakfast is worth the price. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the air systems actually worked well to keep the rooms cool and comfortable.

It was an amazing location right across the river from Buda Palace and right next to the Chain Bridge. The location of the hotel is also right in one of the busiest districts with a wonderful nightlife and great restaurants.

The city had shut off all streets leading to the hotel. When we finally got to the hotel in a roundabout way, I was told that I had to park on the street and drag my belongings to the hotel. On a bright note, the doorman was more than helpful, spoke good english and helped us by walking two blocks with our stuff after we finally found a spot. The breakfast buffet was excellent but be careful, it's the equivalent of 27$ per person! We loved the Sofitel in Budapest. The hotel is beautiful and the staff extemely helpful (especially Ildiko). We arrived early and everyone was very accomodating. I booked this room because I wanted a river view, and I was not disappointed. It was a full-on, gorgeous view and the hotel is in a great location. The lobby is beautiful, the rooms are nicely decorated, and the internet in the room was free, although there were not enough outlets to plug in a laptop and a cell phone charger at the same time without […] unplugging something else. I had also read about the wonderful beds but found mine to be sagging and not as comfortable as I expected, though the pillows were great. Also, for some reason the shower worked the night I arrived but not the next morning, and when I reported this at checkout, the front desk did not apologize or even say they would look into it until I mentioned it twice. The room service was okay but not a lot of selection, and it took over 45 minutes (and a 2nd phone call) to get it delivered. And both when I arrived at the hotel to check in and departed to check out, there was no one at the front door and I had to wait a few minutes before anyone showed up. So in my view, not a 5-star hotel in terms of service, though certainly very nice in every other respect. Read more

This hotel is in a very nice location. As one can easily tell, it is by the Chain Bridge and when you step out at night, you will see the beautifully lit castle on the other side of the Danube.
