"There is something for Lhotel to work on..."
Hi, if you have a cold season then WHY not to make HEATING MODE available in the aircond in the room? It has COOLING, VENTILATION but no HEATING. This is -35C in a place I live now but I managed to get cold just a week ago having +15C outside and +18C in room in your hotel in HK just a week ago! Your location is sweet relatively to awesome shuttle […] bus service and very clean environment but this is industrial area still, so why not to host a couple of ATM's and convenient store like 7-eleven in your building? MTN is going to open their stations around in two years only, so you have to fill up your rooms somehow, yeah? And yeah I know that life and everything is expensive in HK, so hotels are... and I also know this is normal to vary the price for rooms relatively to the market demand, i.e. it might be higher for the high season. Kind of norm but, I am disagreed this is ok to have same room for the 2.5 price difference within one week time frame and for the single customer just because it is covering the New Year date. I don't really care how common is that but this is an example of very bad marketing. Not essential but sort of normal to expect some freebies while living in hotel during the holidays. Not a word from the hotel staff, no TV in the world-most common languages. If someone would ask me to rate staff separately, there should be cleaners nominated for bonus, all receptionists putted to training but tall guy from P4 should be hotel manager, that is for sure. This is a wonderful hotel nestled deep in the heart of nothing. Literally, there is nothing to do and nowhere to eat in the immediate vicinity. The hotel runs a shuttle that we tried to get on three different occasions but with no luck due to crowd size. Great overall! The hotel shuttle is very conveinant with stops and pickups at airport express train service and attractions. The buffet is very good. When we arrived we thought it was a very neat hotel. The front staff was a little nervous about us walking around because we found the hotel so charming and romantic; we were there as a couple. The room was amazing, it was so well decorated and extremely comfortable (also clean and quite). The service was friendly and super-fast with any of our requests. Stayed here for one night with my wife, 4 year old and 1.5 year old. Very close to Ocean Park. If you don't want to wait for the shuttle, taxi is only 20 hkd (the minimum rate for taxis in hk) I don't think there is anything else to do in the area for kids. the shower room has a glass wall, with the curtains controlled from the outside of the bathroom. […] If you need privacy, get your own room. haha. good for the kids. i was able to watch them while they played in the tub :) the buffet is really really good. the gym is very awesome too. the outdoor pool was closed, but seemed extremely well kept. Hotel was nice. Shuttle service was timely and very convenient going to Ocean Park, MTR Central station, and Wan Chai. The breakfast buffet was very pricey for what was offered, which was also less than palatable. $5.00 USD for a small cup of coffee!!!!!! Staff was okay, though limited in their ability to communicate in English (granted it is China). But if you plan to do ANYTHING else, stay at another hotel, closer to Causeway Bay and the Hong Kong subway (MTR). "Great rooms, but service disappoints"
The rooms at L'hotel Island South exceeded our expectations. They were spotless, large and really nice. There is not much to do within walking distance of the hotel. Dining options are very limited. For HK$45 you can take a cab to Causeway Bay and dine, shop or catch the subway from there. The hotel has shuttle buses as well and is easy to reach by […] car. The only disappointment is its service. We stayed for 8 nights. It took two days to get the number of towels to equal the number of guests. We asked three times for an extra towel for our daughter. On the last day I asked for a late check out. Without even checking her computer, the woman at the front desk said that would not be possible. When I checked out on time, I told the same woman that another guest had received a late check out. She apologized and offered to let us keep the room. At that point, we already had our bags in the lobby. There is no proper concierge. The front desk gave us maps but didn't have information on the ferry schedule, horse race timing, even how to get to Victoria Peak. Another hotel was happy to print all of that information for us. Also when we asked how to get to a town in the New Territories, the front desk staff sent us the long way. The hotel employees who helped us get cabs were helpful in instructing the cab drivers where to go and were always very nice in greeting us when we returned. L Hotel is clean & modern. We booked 2 rooms. I am very finicky when it comes to the smell of the room, the firmness of the bed & soft pillows. I slept very well at this hotel. The location is far from shopping BUT we booked this hotel because the kids wanted to go to Ocean Park, that's all. There is a free shuttle to-from OP however, the last shuttle […] picks guests up from OP quite early. So on our way back, we just took a taxi (which is affordable). My only complaint about this hotel is the intense use of AUTOMATIC AIR FRESHENER at the lobby. Oh boy, my kids & I have asthma & the smell (nice smell though) was too strong for our liking. We couldn't leave the check-in lobby fast enough! As for shopping, Causeway Bay would be ideal & we took a taxi there (60HKD). To & from HKG airport, L Hotel would cost 350HKD each way AND for a family of 4, taxi is cheaper than taking the MTR train at 100HKD each way. I had a great stay at L Hotel Island South. The hotel is very new and had a designer feel to it - like some of the "boutique" hotels. The size of the room was quite good and the view was very serene looking into the face of a green hill. Whilst it was a little out of the way, it was within walking distance of Ocean Park, which delighted our four children! Only downside that we noticed when we were leaving was that there was nowhere to sit and wait for our taxi. We had checked out earlier in the day, came back to collect our luggage and there literally was nowhere to wait - unless we wanted to go to the restaurant and eat. It runs quite frequently and made it very convenient while helping me save money on bus fares.
