"Close to Transportation Shopping and Food"
I have been to Hong Kong Several Times, and I always stay at a hotel that is at least 4 Start or better with a club floors for informal business meetings etc... This time I was trying to be economical because it was last minute trip. This Hotel was perfect for the occasion, because the subway entrance was at the very next corner of the Hotel. The Hotel […] itself had 4-5 Star service but the room size for a club room was surprisingly small, if I were there for vacation I would have wanted a larger room that would have made two people more comfortable. Since this was business it was ok as my time in the room was limited. The LCD TV advertised looked to be no larger than a small pc monitor and it was not what Im used to TV wise with the 42-46 inch I have at home, overall the cleanliness and service from the staff was quite good. "Internet is like electricity..."
Internet should be free at every hotel! As a business traveler this is my number one turn-off. They charged me $98 HKD for Internet usage at Kowloon Hotel for one day's service. You can't really ask for a better location. Smack in the middle of a posh shopping district, smack on top of an MTR station, and both a pharmacy and a Starbucks with in 100 ft. The rooms are nice, however they are small. And if you get two beds they are so close it might as well be 1 bed. Theres not enough room to even see the floor between them. Which […] can be awkward. You can hit both high end restaraunts like aqua tokyo/rome or wander over to th harbour and eat english pub food all in a very short walk. Shopping in hk is a bit of sensory overload. The money is wierd and there are soooo many people on the streets and MTR it can be tiring after a few hours and with the Kowloon you just retreat up stairs for a break. Room service food was ok, though there is a MC D's right around the corner if you want a super cheap meal. Only complaint I had was the beds are harder. The internet is per computer and the laundry service is ridiculously overpircied. but what are you going to do afteryouve been sweating in the same jeans fora few days and they are musty? I guess pay the $20 US fee to get them cleaned. jeans and two shirts was $35, a bit steep. I could have probably got a new shirt from one of the hundreds of bespoke tailors there fro that.
