I loved the hotel from the moment I walked through the front door. The lobby and restaurant area is beautiful. The staff was always very helpful and professional. I had a lovely and very comfortable room overlooking the courtyard. The location was perfect and I truly enjoyed my 3 night stay.

The Dominican is a very beautiful and clean hotel...definitely top shelf. It is also located in a great spot close to the Grand Place, Christmas fairs, many bars and restaurants, and wonderful shopping. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The bed was the best we experienced during our entire trip to Luxembourg, Belgium and France (3 nights of […] 10). The only strange note is that the hotel did not offer valet parking. We dropped off our bags, and were given directions to a nearby parking garage (just around the block). It was not a big deal. However, we did think it strange that such a nice hotel would not offer such an amenity (reason for my 4 rating on hotel service). Always enjoy staying at the Dominican Hotel. The location is central (4 blocks from the train station and 5 min. walk to the Grand Platz). I like have free wifi in the rooms and the main lobby has two free computers to use. The bar scene is popular with the guests. This hotel needs a better fitness area to meet the needs of theri clients.

This is a beautiful hotel, well located. It is a ten minute walk to the Central Train Station; and the Grand Place. The room was spacious and well appointed. The shower was amazing. We enjoyed the coffee maker, tea kettle and mini bar.

We stayed at The Dominican five nights over a two week period during which we also traveled to Paris, London and Amsterdam. When we checked in on Sunday, the 13th, we felt like we were home. The space has been designed to mimic the lines of a monastery and the high ceilings, big windows and peaceful atmosphere make this a very comfortable place to stay. […] The staff quickly recognized us and it is a real treat to have the bartender remember the "usual" when you have only had one drink there before! The rooms were clean and modern and the beds were super comfortable. The breakfast was a bit expensive, but the selection and option to also order off the menu make it worth a bit more than we encountered in other hotels during our trip. My husband and I were very pleased with the Dominican Hotel. We liked where it was located, the street was quiet, and while it was close to the main square it didn't have the traffic or noise. The staff was friendly and very helpful. They helped us with directions, gave recommendations for restaurants and where to find breakfast, looked up train schedules, […] and helped with requests for the few things we needed for our room. The room was lovely and clean. I was dreading uncomfortable nights on a strange bed, but the mattress and pillows were perfect and we slept well. The room and bathroom were clean and attractive. We enjoyed the lounge and bar areas where we holed up for drinks, reading, lounging and devouring the chocolates we'd bought. Really a nice atmosphere. The one morning we were too tired to look for breakfast we ate in the hotel restaurant. It was overpriced, but we knew that's what hotels do, and they offered everything we wanted in the buffet. Loved, loved this hotel. We stayed there twice in one trip from 10/8-10/10 and 10/15-10/16. Very modern considering it's in a very old city. The room was surprisingly large considering it's in Europe. With fee wifi, I was able to keep in touch and send pictures to friends and family back in the states. It's so close to Grand Place and Brussels Centraal […] train station is a 8-10 minute walk to take to other wonderful destinations in Belgium and Europe. I was so amazed when I walked into this hotel. I did not know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised to find out that I had booked a 4 Star hotel! The hotel looks entirely brand new. It was very stylishly decorated in a modern feel. Sort of like a W Hotel is. The lobby was huge, spacious and elegant. There was a central courtyard restaurant, a […] side bar and a side sitting area in addition to the usual sofas in the reception area. Remeber everything here was stylishly done with low lighting, small fireplaces, candlelights, fresh flowers and antique elements of a Roman feel. The rooms were beautiful. The carpet had an arabesque design to it to add interest. The bed was gorgeous with gorgeous linens. Internet was free which I think always should be in a hotel. The bathroom was spectacular. The sink was a black granite bowl. The shower (you are offered a bathtub or shower on check in!) was a floor to ceiling glass door with marble tiles! And the best part was the hotel advertised rates where 2.5 times more than what I paid! I saw the rates posted in the lobby as most European hotels have and I was flabbergasted to know that I got this hotel for much much less! The only drawback: You are a bit far from the Grand Place of Brussels (Main Square). The Grand Place is where all the action is and this hotel is about 10 blocks from there. We stayed at the Dominican in July 2011. The exterior is old but the public areas and rooms are completely redone. While not large, the room was well designed to make good use of built-in desk, bench, closets and storage. We never felt cramped or confined. Bed was very comfortable. The in room coffee machine made a great cup of coffee, although we never found out the meaning of the different colored coffee pods. We also did not have a chance to try the hotel’s restaurants. Location proved very convenient. It is walkable from the central train station. The (back of the) opera house is across the street and the Saint-Hubert Royal Galleries is around the corner. There we found great restaurants, cafes and chocolate. Walk through the gallery and you are a block from the main square and three blocks from the Mannequin Pis. The hotel itself is beautiful and you can tell there were no cut corners. Fitness and spa facilities were wonderful and a great way to help relax. The only issue we had […] was when we requested a cot for our second night, we were told the room was too small for a cot (even though to me it seemed like there would have been plenty of space). Although it was probably a good thing that we didn't get one because a cot costs 50 Euros per night. I was pick pocketed on my way from the metro to the hotel leaving me with no cash and no cards. Unfortunately this seems to be a very common occurrence in this area. The hotel staff were very helpful and allowed me to make international calls from the reception desk to cancel my cards and allow me to access alternative funds.

We were very impressed at the scale of the lobby and later found out that the hotel was once a Domincan Abbey, which explained the generous space and height of ceilings. There were some artefacts still in place from its Abbey days that had been skillfully integrated in the redesign. Very comfortable room and we slept soundly as it is a peaceful place […] and well insulated. Also, very friendly staff who were consistently keen to be of help.
