Convenient transport links and peaceful lakes and parks attract international company executives to this trendy and varied suburb, south-east of the city centre. Ixelles also has an arty café scene and a vibrant Congolese quarter. The gothic Abbaye de la Cambre and its wooded surroundings make a popular picnic destination. There are also a couple of interesting art museums, one dedicated to local sculptor Constantin Meunier.

I would say that this hotel had bad service, but I cannot, as it had no service. We arrived to a locked front door and was only able to get in because we were lucky enough to catch the cleaning women, who after a call to management was able to get us into our room, with the key coming only later. There was no cleaning service over the weekend and the […] hotel made no provisions for that fact (we had no shampoo, soap, etc). When I left a note on Monday asking for these things and for the shower head and tub to be fixed, nothing was done. I then had to use my own cell phone to call management, they said it could only be done the next day. I came back Tuesday afternoon and still there was no shampoo, soap, etc. Further, the showerhead was still broken and the "spa" tub had non-functioning jets that were never fixed. Only after I demanded a refund did someone show up late that evening. The room was nice and very convenient for a family of 4. The kitchen was quite workable. It also had a free washer and dryer in the basement. Yet, if you are going to stay here, you must have your own working phone to even get into the apartment for the first time or to get any type of service. Come on, the hotel should at least install a courtesy phone so that the management could be contacted. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
