I'm a young guy and I stayed with my friends days ago, and since this is a kinda upscale hotel, I feel like they suppose I cannot pay for that rooms (around 10,000 Euros), maybe they need to appreciatte their customers more... I have lived in Brussels and wanted to be in this neighborhood. I also needed 2 beds in a room, all at a good rate, so this hotel was ideal. They were extremely accommodating and since I stayed for over 10 days they were kind enough to offer me some extras. Like many hotels there if you forego room cleaning they provide a 5 Euro coupon per day for the […] restaurant. Note that the only free internet is the single computer in the lobby, although they have a reasonable daily rate, and weekly rate for WiFi. . The breakfast on weekends is only 13 Euros and is a great buffet (more on weekdays). Plenty to do, see and eat in the shopping and historic district all nearby at walking distance. Read more

Couldn't have been happier with the Bristol Stephanie. The room was spacious by American standards, and huge by European standards. And it was quiet. The bathroom was nice, with two sinks and plenty of counter space. The Avenue Louise metro station wasn't a five minute walk away, with at least two breakfast places on the way. The Congolese neighborhood […] with its interesting restaurants was also a convenient walk. Hotel service was very good, including the fact that we were able to check in upon arrival from New York at 7:45 a.m. And every day you keep the same towels and sheets, you get a 5 Euro voucher for the bar. I had only two peeves: the in-room safe didn't work, because one of the wires had come disconnected (OK, practically no one ever steals anything in Belgium, so who cares?); and the beds were soft and saggy for our aging backs. Beds were wonky soft - the mattress slid all over the box spring. Sit on one side and the other side would lift up. We booked for 3 people but had to pay extra for breakfast for the third person plus room tax (on top of what was paid to Hotels.com). But, the location was great and in the end it all worked out.

The hotel was very nice and comfortable; however, we had to wait at least 15 minutes before we were able to check in, as there was only one person at the desk and she was overwhelmed. The only other problem was the restaurant. Apparently there are only about six table in the small restaurant, so when we wanted to eat there the first night we were told […] it was full. The second day we asked at the desk if we needed to make a reservation for dinner that night (we still didn't realize how small it was) and the desk clerk just said there was no one at the restaurant at that time to take our reservation. When we went back that evening we were again turned away because it was full; that's when the maitre d' explained how small it is. Very good choice. It is located in a very nice area in Avenue Louise and near by Place Stepahnie close to shopping mall and eating area. The rooms are the largest in Europe in my opinion. Very good Hotel condition. Only small issue is that there is no enough staff at the Hotel. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Thon Hotel Bristol Stephanie. I would say the only downside was that the pull out sofa bed could use a new matress. Other thatn that, it was excfellent! The location of the hotel, combined with the cleanliness and modern appliances was superb!

The hotel is in a very nice area of Brussels (St. Ixelles, tons of shopping and some high-quality restaurants), though we had a bit of a challenge getting there, as the transportation workers were on strike. The hotel's lobby and grand floor are rather opulent, and we felt that we may have been given a room in a yet-to-be-updated section of the hotel […] (maybe this is where Expedia bookers are placed?), because it seemed to have been last renovated in perhaps the 1980s. Even so, the staff were friendly (even though there was a mixup with the month and date of our reservation being reversed April 11 [4/11 in America, 11/4 in Europe], they still had a room for us), and the tea/coffee/toiletries were of nice quality and generous. The twin beds placed together were rather "squishy," but we were too tired to care. Pro's: This was my first time traveling to Europe. My mom and I were both pleased with Bristol Stephanie. The facility is visually appealing and very clean. I'm a terrible sleeper and don't recall ever hearing outside noises. The walls are well insulated. The subway is within walking distance from the hotel. My Mom and I only know English and that was […] not a problem. Everyone at the hotel, and the surrounding area, know English fairly well. Cons: It would have been nice to have the ability to exchange currency at the hotel. However, there is a Western Union which will exchange your US dollars to Euro's several blocks away. Also, breakfast at the hotel Monday - Friday (25 Euros per person) is significantly higher than on Saturdays and Sundays (13 Euros per person). Please keep that in mind because everyone at the hotel seems fairly clueless about this gigantic price change (and no, you do not get less on the weekends). Exki is a great place nearby for breakfast if you are looking for something much cheaper. To sum it up: Coming from America, we had to adjust to the size of everything in Europe - from the small food portions, tiny cars, skinny people, tiny walk ways, narrow roads, and ESPECIALLY the small "cups of coffee" which are actually Espresso. Luckily, they do not skimp on the beer portions. ;) Please keep in mind, European beds are much smaller by American standards. Nice hotel in a good location. It's a bit of a walk to the nearest subway station, but not too bad (10 min). Hotel was nice and in a great location. The area is vibrant to say the least. The layout of my room, especially the location of the desk and TV, was inconvenient. The bed had two well-worn dips in it and so the mattresses really had been worn and needed to be replaced. They missed my wake-up call but fortunately I had my cell-phone backup alarm, so […] was not a disaster. I had to "argue" to throw in a free breakfast for this potentially disasterous blunder, which they reluctantly did. The price for my stay was okay. And internet was free, which was a pleasant surprise. Normally such hotels really try and nail you on this one. Overall I'd say it's a nice hotel but not worth more than mid-hundreds a night. Okay, that means it was a good value at that rate. But I think the idea about Brussels is to explore and experience many different areas and hotels so I won't be going back. Everything to a high, 4 star standard. lovely large room with flat screen tv, king bed, clean shower, loo etc and balcony with great view on tenth floor. 2 downsides were only an hour's free Internet access and extortionate rates thereafter and streetwalkers outside at night as after dark this central shopping area is a mini red light district.

convenient stay for 1 night. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Car parking is expensive. The fold out bed needed to be repaired by my husband before the children could sleep on it and ought to be replaced. Breakfast had a good choice.

We enjoyed our stay in the Thon Hotel Bristol Stephanie. It is conveniently located close to some great shopping and the metro is just down the street. It is not hard to walk anywhere in Brussels, however at the end of the evening we welcomed the 10 euro (including tip) taxi ride back to the hotel from the Grand Place area. The staff were friendly and […] helpful. We did not dine in the hotel, but the food smelled good and the bar area looked very comfortable and relaxing. A couple of criticisms would be 1) poor design of the shower door - water leaked quite abundantly onto the floor - we had to mop up after each shower and 2) some work was going on right outside of our window - we woke to see strange workmen scaling a ladder/scaffold outside of our window. Oh and 3) we never did figure out how to work the lighting - I guess we could have asked the staff what the trick was for adequate illumination. All things said, I would still stay at the hotel. Overall, a great hotel. Huge room, comfy bed and really good shower. Locations is a bit out of the city, but still plenty of places to eat within a 5-10 min walk. Lovely hotel but we arrived just before 11pm and water was going off at 11 through to 6am the next morning therefore only had bottled water. Water pressure in shower was poor and not sure if this was linked to work going on or if it's always like this. Otherwise really nice, clean hotel in good location
