Front desk and dining staff were very gracious and helpful. Room though small was very nice and modern. The area around hotel at first appearance seemed like an area to be concerned about. But we had no problems and a two block walk put us on the promenade to the Acropolis.

The young man on the desk was extremely helpful and informative. A few minutes after being shown to our room a young lady knocked at our door with a small tasting plate including an aperatif which was a lovely surprise. Room and bathroom was modern with a large shower. The only drawback was the low level of lighting in the bathroom. Breakfast was plentiful […] and nice. Location was ideal for our short stay - close enough to the Acropolis and to restaurants. Would be happy to stay there again. We really enjoyed our stay .. and would probably give higher marks had our expectations not been set so high based on other customer reviews. Additionally, regarding neighborhood, I'm not sure any place in Athens would be in a good neighborhood (there were many protests going on while we were there) .. which is such a shame. City was filthy and FULL […] of graffiti. Also, we arrived on a Sunday afternoon which has a "street market" (ie garage sale) on the hotel's tiny little street which scared us to death. Avoid arriving/staying on a Sunday if you can. We had the Executive Suite which was nice - but not sure worth the price (after having stayed one night at the Intercontinental the room seemed very small in comparison and there is no - zero - drawer space). OK .. now that I have said all that, the staff is fabulous and probably the best part of hotel - besides the spectacular view. It is also walking distance to the plaka .. which we did every day, at least twice a day. Read more

Overall, a really pleasant and comfortable hotel with great staff. At first, the location, in a small street of workshops and junk shops, was a bit of a shock. But I soon realised that it was perfectly safe, even at night, and also very convenient for the market at Monastiraki, Plaka, the Acropolis, and the Metro. Internet connection was good, and the staff were extremely helpful in providing the correct adaptor. The shower was great. Breakfast: elegant modern setting with a great selection of Greek specialities as well as wonderful eggs and bacon. My stay was very comfortable. I was very disappointed with the view from my room...there was none, it looked like a dump outside from my window. The pictures are a little decieving, they make you think you will be looking at the acropolis from every room, but infact you don't. We spent three nights at the O&B and found the hotel to be clean and very comfortable. We had a junior suite which was the size of an average room in a US hotel, quite comfortable for a party of two. The view of the Acropolis off the side of the patio was a nice treat. Breakfast was both a made to order (omlets, etc.) and buffet with local cheese, fruit […] and homemade breads. The staff was very helpful about restaurants and sightseeing information. There are two Metro stops within walking distance and we were close to several markets where you can purchase souvenirs and local products such as olive oil, soap and honey. Don't bother with the streets close to the hotel, only 2 blocks down and you are in Ancient Agora. 2 blocks up and you are in the nice Plaka. The room is small but very clean and well equipped. The service is extremely friendly.

Athens has a lot of random side streets, and unfortunately the taxi drivers don’t know them all too well. If you do end up staying here and you’re coming from the airport, definitely take the train…it’s much cheaper, will get you there in about the same time, and the station is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Very helpful staff with good knowlege of surrounding area i.e places to eat and visit.Would suggest booking superior room as a minimum, the standard rooms are too small.Excellent location for Monastiraki and Plaka areas with plenty of good restaurants within walking distance. We liked the hotel very much once we were through the doors, the staff could not have been more helpful, but the surroundings were awful, the slums of Athens. Our taxi dirver warned us not to turn left when coming out of the hotel. Such a shame to have such a nice hotel in such a dreadful area

Excellent service from the moment I arrived to when I left. This included giving me an adjacent room when I tried to watch the football on the TV and the picture was terrible; a problem they were then able to fix. It also included be greeted with olives, tomato and feta cheese and a drink for free! I have to say the staff were a delight, full marks. […] The only downside is that the street and immediate surroundings are run down, and a DJ playing incredibly loud music on the next block - but this stopped at a sensible time. In terms of location it is in fact very good, a short walk will take you to many of the principle sites. I was there on business and broadband is both free and easy to use giving good bandwidth. Very modem room with comfortable bed and an air conditioner that worked! Only a 10 minute walk to major sites and eating places. I did not feel very comfortable with the location - we went for a walk in the morning and it appeared rather dirty.

Rooms are clean and very comfortable. Wi-fi is a hit and miss. Breakfast is good. My room was quiet. There were no Acropolis view from my room. Only problem was water remaining in the shower basin after a wash and bathroom getting misty for a while thereafter. My only real issue with this place is the location, near a graffiti-ridden neighborhood with […] lack of pedestrian lights. Parts of Athens now seem to be unsafe, and this place is about a 15 min. walk from the centre of Syntagma. I felt OK at night, but I rarely ventured after 930pm. Das Hotel ligt nur unweit (ca. 5min) von der U-Bahn-Staion Monastiraki, welche direkt vom Flughafen her angefahren wird, entfernt. Die Gegend rund um das Hotel ist etwas heruntergekommen. Dies hat aber keine Auswirkungen auf das wirklich tolle Hotel. Das Personal war wiklich genial. Bereits bei unserer Ankunft wurde uns die nähere Umgebung auf einer […] Karte erläutert und wir haben einige Tips erhalten. Auch sonst waren die Mitarbeiter sehr hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Das Zimmer war recht geräumig und mit allem ausgestattet was man braucht. (Schrank, grosser Save, mini Bar, TV etc.) Auch wenn das TV-Angebot etwas eingeschränkt war. Aber wir waren ja nicht zum Fernsehen in Athen. Ein sehr geräumiges Bad, nur das Licht dort war etwas mager. Auch super war das gratis W-Lan-Netz, welches einwandfrei funktionierte. Das Frühstückbuffet hat mich jetzt nicht von den Socken gehauen, aber es völlig ausreichend. Vorallem gab es recht anständiges Brot, was in südlichen Ländern ja leider nicht immer der Fall ist. Bestellt euch den frisch gepressten Orangensaft, der ist echt super lecker! Wer möchte kann sich Eier-Speisen zubereiten lassen. Die sind natürlich kostenlos und werden sehr schön angerichtet. Für den Preis ein wirklich anständiges Hotel. Und wer damit leben kann, dass er nicht in einem Luxus-Viertel zu hause ist, ist im O&B Athens Boutique Hotel auf jeden Fall sehr gut aufgehoben. C'est un tres bon hotel, bien localise et l'accueil etait formidable, chambre petite mais comfortable. J'ai commande un soir un room service et c'etait tres bon. Les points negatifs: il ne faut pas etre trop sensible aux bruits car on entend bien les allers/retours des personnes, pas de baignoire, pas de chaines tv internationales mais le plus gros […] probleme est la zone ou l'hotel se trouve bien qu'elle est pas mal situe, pres d'un metro etc mais la rue principale, et qui soit disant populaire, est tres tres sale mais d'une maniere generale il faut le dire que c'est partout pareil a Athenes sinon l'hotel en lui-meme est tres bien!
