fab location, just bertween Syntagma Square, Plaka, Monasteraki...well equipped clean and comfortable, excellent included breakdfast, Great price. This... hotel is lovely, but it is the staff where the Hermes shines best, professional..from reception, to housekeeping, and the wonderful lady in the breakfast area. This hotel is owned by the same folks that run the well respected and beloved Plaka Hotel, as well as the new Athens Center Square...obviously a seasoned operator. by johnnie b from New York State on 01/03/12

Overview

Location.
Situated in the heart of Athens, Hermes Hotel is within walking distance of Metropolis Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Roman Agora, and Syntagma Square. Also nearby are Acropolis and Benaki Museum.

Hotel Features.
This Athens hotel offers a restaurant, a coffee shop/café, and a bar/lounge. A complimentary breakfast is served each morning. Wireless and wired high-speed Internet access is available in public areas (surcharges apply) and an Internet point is located on site. The staff can provide concierge services, tour/ticket assistance, and tour assistance. Additional amenities at this Art Deco hotel include a rooftop terrace, a children's club, and a library. Quaint and touristy, Athens’ oldest residential quarter sits in the shadow of the Acropolis. Plaka’s narrow cobbled streets are lined with bougainvillea-clad neoclassical mansions, souvenir shops and pseudo-traditional tavernas, some with live music. A village atmosphere prevails, despite the crowds. Close to all the top sights, it makes the best base for a short stay.

The hotel is well located for walking distance to all major sites in Athens. It is also close to many restaurants. The staff is very accommodating and suggested many walking tours of the city. We stayed there for 4 nights before leaving for a cruise and then returned again for 1 night before leaving for the airport.
