The modern hillside St George Lycabettus Hotel is set among the trees of Lycabettus Hill in Athens, Greece. Located in the Kolonaki district, the hotel is just two kilometers from the Acropolis and Omonia Square and a few minutes' walk from a lively bar and dining scene.
Hotel Features.
A uniformed doorman ushers guests through sliding doors into the pine-floored lobby of the pet-friendly St George Lycabettus Hotel, dotted with leather armchairs and vases of fresh flowers. Valet parking is available to guests for a surcharge.
The St George Lycabettus Hotel's Le Grand Balcon serves up gourmet dishes like grilled fillet of beef charolais with mushroom risotto. Guests can enjoy the twinkling night-time views from the simple white dining room or dine on the large terrace area in summer. The Frame, this hotel's other restaurant, serves lunch and dinner featuring Mediterranean cuisine and has a bar. Room service is also available. There are three large conference rooms on site for up to 500 people. The hotel has a business center, with two computers offering high-speed Internet access. The hotel's rooftop swimming pool is lined with canvas deckchairs and has city views and a pool bar. Le Grand Balcon - This white-decor restaurant is open from Tuesday to Saturday serving American buffet breakfast and dinner. It looks out over Athens and Acropolis and opens up to a terrace in summer.
Frame Garden - Lunch, dinner, drinks and snacks can be had in this garden bar-restaurant open from May to October.
Through summer, the open-air rooftop pool provides for swimming and sunbathing.
The steep slopes of Lycabettus Hll are crisscrossed by a network of footpaths, which wind their way between rocky outcrops and dense Mediterranean vegetation. Perfect for an early evening stroll, the paths are also popular with fitness buffs and joggers.

This is one of those hotels that looks great in the lobby. I had to move rooms because the first room I got smelled like an ashtray. They were very fast, and moved me right away. The TV did not work. The room smelled musty. Those things didn't bother me.... as much as the two (yes, TWO) times that the showerhead fell on me while I was showering. The […] first time, I thought maybe it slipped and it was an accident. It hit me in the middle of my shower, right on top of my head. I didn't bother to tell the staff about it because I thought maybe it was a one-time thing. But, the next morning, the same thing happened. The toilet would not flush very well- you had to pump the handle to make it work. The food was mediocre, overpriced - except for breakfast. The view in the breakfast room is indeed wonderful, and the food is good. Not great, but definitely good. I will say, that when I complained to the manager in the morning, he was apologetic and very nice. He asked what he could do to make it up to me. But I also didn't care much since I was checking out. The staff was very good - polite, concerned, and asked how they could help. The room was immaculate and the cleaning staff did a great job. But overall, I would definitely not stay here again.
