Beautiful, cozy, old hotel in a perfect setting overlooking Fistral Beach. We booked a courtyard room, which was the cheapest possible and probably got... what we paid for - a very small room with windows facing walls. English breakfast was good but make sure to order from the menu (also included), the English buffet was bland and nothing to write home about. The newly built spa is beautiful and such a nice treat on a windy "spring" day. Only minus is that children are allowed from 7:30am-7pm which made for a lot of noise and splashing - and not exactly the "relaxing and indulging experience" the hotel is promoting. by Jane from Southampton on 04/14/13

Overlooking Fistral Beach in the Cornish seaside resort of Newquay, the family-friendly Headland Hotel is within a mile of the Blue Reef Aquarium, Towan Beach, and the Newquay Harbour. The Eden Project in St. Blazey is 45 minutes away.

Hotel Features.
Complimentary wireless Internet access is available in some areas of this Victorian property. Specializing in local ingredients such as Newquay Bay lobsters, the Restaurant offers relaxed dining with the Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop. The Terrace serves fresh seafood and grilled local meats, with indoor and seafront terrace seating. Guests enjoy Cornish cream teas and cocktails in the fireside Bar, and room service is available 24 hours. Room rates include complimentary breakfast. The hotel features the Headland Wellness Area with an indoor pool with jet streams and bubble seats, a Cornish Salt steam room, aromatherapy showers, and a large spa bath. For recreation there are an on site surfing school and a seasonal outdoor pool. A short approach 9-hole golf course and 3 tennis courts are also available. Relaxing and pampered . Friendly staff and great facilities. The dining room is top class. We were warned not to go into Newquay after dark as it is full of drunken stag nights and hen parties .

Thought hotel needed updating, reception staff were great, restaurant not so good, pricey evening meal and not made clear that vegetables had to be paid for separerately, this on top of the price of a 3 course meal. Spent two nights here in feb 2010. We had two nights without the children and wanted somewhere to relax and be looked after. Well what a perfect place for just such a thing. The staff are professional but so friendly . Every one went out of there way to warmly acknowledge us. The room was on first floor with a beautiful view of the sea. Room was cosy […] and clean.
