Banbury is a bustling market town in North Oxfordshire. It is known largely for its famed Banbury Cakes, and for the old English nursery rhyme, Ride a cock horse to Banbury Cross. There remains a cross in the town centre along with a statue of the lady on her horse. Nearby Cropredy, 4 miles along the Oxford Canal, hosts one of Britain's biggest folk festivals every August.see all hotels in Banbury
"Best tartar sauce ever in the pub"
We enjoyed staying here and the food was wonderful....the tartar sauce with the fish and chips was the absolute best I have ever had. Other than the pub being directly below us and noisy until about 11pm, it was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent stop off"
We really like this hotel and think the food in the restaurant is very good and reasonably priced. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Clearly a popular local pub with a great atmosphere. Traditional old building so no lift and narrow stairs to rooms. Close but not too close to motorways and Banbury. We really like the rural village feel. We […] have stayed before and will no dobt stay again Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Friendly and welcoming with great food."
Friendly and accomodating staff made us feel welcome, and superb food, both breakfast and evening meal. The room was comfortable and as I expected for the rating, but I was disappointed that the bedlinen appeared to have not been freshly changed for our arrival.Genuine Expedia guest review
"An enjoyable few days"
A traditional country inn situated in a small village. The room was comfortable, clean and always warm enough. We heard no noise from the bar below. We received a warm welcome and were looked after throughout our stay (3 nights) very well indeed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We arrived on a wet, windy Saturday afternoon and although they were not open at that time, there were instructions as to how to get into the hotel. In addition, they were quite willing to open the bar for us should we like to have a drink. We ate in the restaurant that night and everything was sparkling clean. The food was excellent, as was the breakfast […] the following morning. We would definitely stay there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Perfect for a weekend break!"
We booked a room in this Pub as we were attending a wedding nearby. The room was large, clean and the bed very comfortable. Lunch was superb - probably the best sandwich in the world (freshly cooked ham and homemade bread) and breakfast was delicious. Super pub in a lovely quiet location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
