Not to the usual De Vere standards I am afraid. The room carpet was not clean, the light switch cover fell off exposing the insides and one of the soap dispensers in the bathroom did not work. I will seek out the Village hotels but give this one a miss going forwardGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was unable to provide any type of food, not even a sandwich at 9.55pm. Not good enough these days. The staff were embarassed by this situation. We had just completed a long journey and were unable to get anything to eat. The bar staff were very dissinterested in their work but the reception staff were good but hampered by total inflexability. Generally unfriendly attitude from reception staff (two different shifts). No bath in the room - shower only. Rather than providing individual toiletries there were multi-purpose soap dispensers attached to the wall, but the one in the shower didn't work. Stayed for four nights in Jan/Feb. Gym and swimming pool main attraction. Relly nice pool and well-equipped gym. Liked iPod dock in room and the food is variable - go for Grill if you can afford as food quality very good - pub is OK for watching SS News but food not great. "Don't stay here if you want to actually sleep!"
Staff were friendly and that was the ONLY good point apart from the bed being comfortable. However, that was really of no use seeing as it was so loud you couldn't even sleep. You cannot control people talking or whatever but music playing after midnight which I could hear in my room on the 2nd floor, and hearing people walking past the room talking […] in the corridor every 10 minutes waking you up, doors banging (cause they don't close without banging them)... provide a hotel with good sound insulation!! They were more concerned with people having fun i.e. drinking loads, partying with loud music (therefore spending their money) than people actually getting a good night's rest. Aweful, aweful experience. The food was also terrible - even having chosen a 'special' from the menu.
