We stayed over the bank holiday weekend with another couple and really enjoyed the hotel. The service was excellent and the decor is modern but comfortable... and the breakfasts were really good. So much choice and the scrambled eggs were really good. The hotel location is perfect for catching the boat over the lake to Bowness and further afield. We also went to Wray Castle which is just a short drive away. We had a really lovely stay so thank you very much. Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 10, 2012

The hotel is yards away from the waterfront at the north end of Windermere. Ambleside itself is about a mile away. The hotel is very comfortable with good service. We ate in at the evening as there wasn't much suitable choice in walking distance. The food is imaginative and good, if a little expensive. The staff were always willing to help.
