"Very nice place to stay"
Lovely comfortable sea view rooms. Very helpful and friendly staff. Wonderful dinner and breakfasts.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Rooms badly need refurbishing, very dated but not in a good way. Reception staff lovely but not easy to find at times.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Renewed visit to celebrate my birthday."
We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay. Accomodation, quality of service and food all excellent. We were sorry to have to leave. Many thanks.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quick Stay for Walking"
Very enjoyable 2 days. We were even lucky with the weather - sunshine! Hotel good in all respects, with really nice breakfast, and especially having a convenient car park as parking in Lyme is at a premium. Having a price deal also helped.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice hotel"
The Mariner's is a nice, fairly simple hotel. It's not a luxury place, but we found our room spotless and comfortable and the bathroom had both a bath and a good shower. The lounge and restaurant lack a little in atmosphere, but the food was nice - lots of good local seafood options. The breakfast room has lovely views and the breakfast was fine, if […] not spectacular. The staff are excellent. We enjoyed staying here and would recommend to anyone looking for a simple, well kept and well run place. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Short stay in Lyme Regis"
“Short Break in January” Reviewed 26 January 2013 NEW We- my husband and I stayed here very recently for me to recover from an illness and difficult treatment programme that had just ended and we made the right choice. We were delighted with the Manager, the staff, the food and the acccomodation. Breakfast was included and the fried bread is the best […] that we have ever had! We also had very good bar food in the evening (not the run of the mill menu) and the Indian Restaurant down the road is also worth a visit. The views from the dining room and the bar are lovely, despite the very cold weather we had a very pleasant stay. Lyme Regis is unspoilt and is a great walking destination with smashing harbour and beach. (It is hilly so some energy is required to walk up and down the town). Stayed January 2013, travelled as a couple Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A lovely winter break"
The staff could not be faulted- polite, helpful and cheerful. The rooms were small but well appointed, beds were comfy (pity there were no feather pillows!) and it was quiet. Shower rooms were tiny but there was always plenty of hot water and toiletries were luxurious. Lounge and bar area were warm and comfortable and service was good. The four of us […] ate in both nights because the first night's meal was superb but the second night was a big disappointment, the head chef was off, our table was booked for 8pm and we didn't eat until 8.45pm. and then we had to send some things back. The manager was very good and knocked some things off the bill but it was such a shame after the joy of the first evening. Breakfasts were excellent. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Hotel with character in a good location"
We enjoyed our stay at the Mariners Hotel. We found it to be charming, clean and comfortable with an excellent restaurant. We have marked down on the hotel service and overall rating because all was well until we checked out and found that another room's bill had been added to ours (we always check the bill carefully and on this occasion it was just […] as well). This was an unfortunate end to what had been a very pleasant weekend break. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

We stayed for 2 nights - the room was clean, bright and very comfortable with a superb bathrroom and furnishings together with a sea view. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and we were made to feel very welcome. We shall definitely be staying at the Mariners again and will also recommend it to friendsGenuine Expedia guest review
"Short walk from town"
Nice hotel just a little out of town so avoiding the usual noise and bustle of a seaside town, but easily within walking distance of the places of interest in Lyme Regis. Staff friendly and helpful, breakfast good and freshly cooked.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very nice - but quite a climb to get there!"
Lovely room, with excellent double glazing so no noise problem, comfortable double bed and wonderful drenching shower!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great for a short break"
We only stayed at this hotel for one night, but it was very pleasant. In fact, if we stay in Lyme Regis again, we would almost certainly use this hotel. This 17th century coaching inn has been (we think) sensitively modernised and the 3D website tour gives a good impression of what you will find. Our bedroom was clean, recently decorated and comfortable. […] Our room (No. 8) was on the upper left of the picture. It was of a reasonable size, but as it had a sloping roof by the window, it might be problematic for someone who was much over six foot if they slept on the window side of the bed! Other rooms may have different dimensions, of course. We liked the black and white theme (what looked like the original beams were picked out in black). The ensuite had a shower (which worked well) but no bath as the room was not quite big enough for that. The one evening meal that we had was delicious and well worth the price. "Left feeling disappointed"
We had the family rooms however the main room was too small, no bath with small children was a disappointment, shower room toilet was again very small. Food was good but did not make up for the cramped conditions. Overall staff were pleasant but we feel let down and don't feel we received value for moneyGenuine Expedia guest review
"Disappointing not for families - balanced review"
We spent one night at this hotel at the beginning of August and came back disappointed. The hotel itself has a lot of charm, it is a short walk to town (on a steep hill) and has lovely views of the sea from the back. There is also a hotel car park very close by. It was a real shame as the front of house staff on arrival and at breakfast were really […] unfriendly and not helpful. In particular, we stayed at the hotel with our 16 month old and were told shortly before entering the restaurant that if our baby made any noise we would be asked to leave. There are no cots at the hotel and no place to keep a buggy. Our room although nicely decorated was small and the bed was small and uncomfortable. We could also hear conversations and snoring throughout the night next door. Overall a disappointing stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Mariners in Lyme Regis"
Very nice hotel. Beautifully decorated, clean & comfortable. Great shower, nice breakfast, plenty of free parking and just a short stroll to the seafront. There's also a nice bar with a well kept garden & lovely views toenjoy an alfresco drink. Highly recommended.Genuine Expedia guest review
"worth a visit"
3rd visit to the mariners, which baring mind with a young child answers a lot of questions! seaside town hotels are not cheap! Rooms are quaint but totally fine, cool little bathroom, tv, comfy beds and tea and coffee. Breakfasts are HUGE. Dinners are locally sourced and yummy - not the cheapest but easy for me Lyme Regis is a delightful townGenuine Expedia guest review
"A nice hotel, although not perfect."
A nice hotel. Reasonably situated (although less fit guests may find the slog back up the hill from the main part of the town something of a trial) with great staff, good food, and decent rooms. Starting with the best, the staff. Friendly, helpful & efficient. The food was also very good, and although light on vegetarian options the chef was very accommodating, […] which I always think is a good sign. Apart from anything else it means the food is actually being cooked as opposed to unwrapped. The room was clean and well maintained. It wasn’t that large and the en suite was frankly cramped with (pet hate warning) a low pressure shower. The bed was a double but having travelled a lot in the USA I’m used to ‘double’ meaning something the size of a small town. It literally meant the old double bed standard which is.... pretty small by modern standards. The strange bit was the corridors, weirdly enough. The Dining room is very pleasant, well maintained, the room was very pleasant and well maintained. The corridors were like a cheap B&B. OK, so it’s a historic building and you expect narrow corridors, stairs that double back, and the odd low beam. However I didn’t expect worn carpet and odd things casually screwed to the wall here & there. Still, nobody stays at a hotel because of the quality of the corridors so we’ll leave that one. The acid test, would I stay there again? Yes, although probably in a bigger bed. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Mariners Hotel Lyme Regis"
A really pleasant hotel, in a lovely area. A short walk away from shops and the beach. Hotel car park across the road an added bonus for staying in Lyme Regis. Staff very attentive, also nice resturant. We both enjoyed our short break. Will stay there againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Mariner Hotel Lyme Regis - A pleasant surprise"
Our room was small but immaculately clean and neat with new en suite fittings . Staff were friendly and restaurant was excellent with waiting staff who were motivated and bright. Another good thing about this hotel is the car park over the road which is gold in a town like Lyme Regis . Better than many three and four stars. Highly recommended.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"A gem in Lyme Regis"
The staff at the hotel greet you with a warm, friendly welcome from the initial check-in process until departure. At times the front desk is not manned - there's a bell where you can summon attention, but it doesn't work! However the kitchen is nearby and from the voices this is probably manned when the front desk isn't! A problem with the toilet not […] flushing was resolved efficiently. The breakfast in the hotel was spot on with the main course being freshly cooked for you to your own requirements. Unlike the notorious buffet breakfast that has almost replaced personal service the only time you are required to serve yourself is for coffe, cereal/fruit/etc. Tea and toast is delivered to your table along with the main course. The small bar is friendly and open all day, but you may on occasions have to wait for service. This is a gem of a hotel on the edge of Lyme Regis. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
