Apparently people come for the toaster. I would have taken it home if I could have carried it! Our room had a wetroom in the bathroom which was hyper-efficient. Staff were very friendly and made us feel at home.

searched the internet for a quiet switch off weekend, very glad we settled on the rusland poole hotel. what a nice find!!!!! the owners and ALL of the staff could not have been more helpful, had a really loveley weekend, the bed was rather comfy, and would definately go there again. nipped off to the small town of ulverston which had some quaint shops. […] then along to newby bridge, and then onto bowness on windermere, had a lovely afternoon there, The food at the rusland poole was fab, everything we ordered all weekend was lovely, well presented, and tasty, (loved the lakeland butter) the owners even gave me half a duck when my choice was off the menu, it was beautiful, compliments to the chef!!!!! Lovely hotel in an excellent location. 20 min rive to Coniston Lake and 5 min drive to the old steam railway train link to Lake Windemere ( or 30 min drive) Steam train link fantastic to do a full cruise on the lake (£15 return trip on steam train and all day hop on hop off cruise boat and only 5 min away !!) My room, which had a view of the hills and a door leading onto a patio facing East, had everything in it required for a comfortable stay. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived at the hotel. The food was good both at breakfast and in the evening. When I mentioned about the mattress being hard for me, this was rectified while we were out. We will certainly return to this hotel
