"Ibis blackfriars: good, not quite great"
We stayed here on Saturday night (16 Feb).I chose this hotel first and foremost as it was really well situated. It ended up being even better than expected in this respect: waterloo is only minutes away on foot and the south bank is not much further. The price was also very reasonable given what we could pay for other hotels in the region. Staff were […] friendly and helpful, though we didn't have cause to interact with them much - main example wad that, when we asked about bag storage on the day if departure they offered to let us keep our room for free did pretty much as long as we wanted. There were a couple of negatives: one, we must have been very close to done water piping as I was woken a couple of times during the night by what sounded like a waterfall in the walls. The other flaw was the bed itself which was not especially comfy and, as seems to be the case in every hotel I stay in, we just couldn't get the temperature quite right. I booked this hotel for its proximity to the South Bank Centre. I didn't need anything plush, just somewhere to lay my head for a few days of attending all day and late night events, so I was only in the building for the time it took to sleep and wash. Lovely hotel in a location that's close to the tube station. Clean, comfortable - everything you'd expect really. Some of the staff could do with a bit more training - when we had a problem with our rooms due to the hotel's error, it took us a while to sort it out but we got there in the end. Bodd på Ibis Blackfries de 2 siste gangene jeg har vært i London, og skal definitivt fortsette å booke rom her i fremtiden. Hyggelig personale, god og billig frokostbuffet. Uudehko hotelli ja siistit huoneet. Mielestäni hyvä hinta/laatu suhde. Aulatiloissa mukava moderni sisustus, erityistä englantilaisfiilistä on turha odottaa. Palvelu oli hyvää kuten myös aamiainen. Aamiainen ei kuulunut huoneen hintaan mutta päädyimme syömään sen hotellilla joka aamu, helpotti ettei tarvinnut etsiä aamiaispaikkaa. Hotellin aulassa pari […] konetta ilmaista nettikäyttöä varten, huoneen wifiä (ilmainen) ei kokeiltu. Kulkuyhteydet hotellilta ovat varsin hyvät. Korttelin päässä on Southwarkin metroasema (Jubilee-linja). Muutaman kerran kävelimme myös Waterloon metro/juna-asemalle josta menee useampi metrolinja. Jos päivän jälkeen haluaa käydä oluella pubissa niin muutaman korttelin sisältä sopiva varmasti löytyy, esim. The Cut -kadulta. Nähtävyyksistä kävelymatkan päässä on Tate modern ja Thames-joki. Un très bon hôtel ibis, avec toutes les qualités attendues de la chaine. Les transports allant au centre ville de Londres sont au pied de l’hôtel : Bus + Metro qui vous mène au centre en 3 stations, Train (station Waterloo) à 5mn de marche. Beaucoup de commerces et restaurants à proximité. Les chambres sont confortables et propres, récemment rénovées […] avec une excellente literie. Le wifi gratuit et des PC avec imprimante a disposition dans le lobby sont un vrai plus.
