"Not a great location, noisy room."

"Convenient but not worth it"
I stayed during the Olympics (so not taking into the account the extreme increase in price as compared to its normal cost). The good...GREAT location near the Bayswater undergoing station. Extremely convenient in this regard as well as the number of really close restaurants. The not so good...the AC didn't work well at all (I had it set on 18C and it […] felt like it was only putting out around 25C), one morning there was no hot water, the room was extremely noisy (if youre put next to the stairs, ask to be moved)- every time the stairwell door opened, it slammed shut (at ALL hours of the night) and every room door slammed (they need to invest in the things that make doors shut more quietly)and also a big annoyance was that you had to put a deposit down just to get a TV and AC remote. "No frills"
The hotel was nice, clean and beds were comfy. However it did have a few downsides which would prevent me staying again (1) the rooms were tiny! (2) there were no facilities in the room - no tea and coffee making facilities, you had to pay a deposit with the desk to get a remote for the tv... (3) room I had was on the roadside and quite noisy (4) there […] were two flights of stairs to get up to the reception area which I did not realise at the time and was a significant down side as i am currently on crutches and it is difficult to walk. "Mycket nöjd, bra hotell för billig peng!"
Vänlig personal, trevlig service, bra och rena rum, perfekt läge nära tunnelbanan. Frukosten var ingen höjdare, speciellt inte kaffet, men ändå ok liten buffe med musli, mackor, mm. Fritt Wi-fi som funkade för det mesta. Saknade som vanligt krokar, hyllor osv på rummet, vilket ofta saknas på Londonhotellrummen; allas grejer blir spridda på golvet... "Gute Lage des Hauses und sauberes Zimmer"
Grundsätzlich fand ich den Aufenthalt im Royal Hyde Park Hotel in Ordnung. Das mir zugewiesene Zimmer befand sich in der 4.Etage und mangels eines Aufzuges (!) waren immerhin ca. 70 Treppenstufen mit Gepäck zu überwinden. Das Zimmer ist sehr klein und es gibt außer einem schmalen Kleiderschrank mit drei Kleiderbügel (!) keine weitere Möglichkeit etwas […] - wie 2. Hose oder Jacket - ordentlich aufhängen zu können. Empfehlung : entweder noch 1 oder 2 zusätzl. Kleiderbügel zur Verfügung stellen oder unterhalb des an der Wand installierten Fernsehers ein Brett mit 4 od. 4 Kleiderhaken anbringen. Sehr gut hat mir die eingebaute Duschkabine gefallen (!) - Handwaschbecken und WC-Schüssel klein aber fein ! Auch positiv anzumerken der 2-malige Hand-tuchwechsel während meines Aufenthaltes von 5 Nächten. Etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig war die umständliche Handhabung der Fenster,die nur über Klettern auf dem viel zu großen Bett für das kleine Zimmer erreichbar waren. Der Befestigungshaken für das linke Fenster ist abgebrochen und müsste repariert werden. Zum Frühstück ist anzu-merken, daß es gut war - bis auf den Kaffee Ihr Servicepersonal - Reception und Frühstücksraum - ist freundlich und aufgeschlossen ! Hôtel très bien situé, de nombreux restaurants à proximité immédiate, si vous ne recherchez pas une table gastronomique (le pays ne s'y prête pas de toute façon). Station de métro à 100m, Hyde park à 100m. Très propre (peintures refaites récemment), le petit déjeuner est correct et le personnel courtois et attentionné. Chambre toute petite, pas de commode […] ou quoique ce soit pour poser ses affaires en dehors d'un placard. Fenêtre fendue, isolation phonique très moyenne, vue sur un champ de climatiseurs dans une arrière cour sombre. "2nd but last time at RHPH"
Although the RHPH has had a make over, our room for this stay faced the busy Queensway and the single layered windows and old wooden frames neither kept noise nor wind out of the room, so basically 4 days without much sleep. The door to the room gaped up to ½" and the draft from the always open front and hallway doors contributed to keeping the temeperature […] down, although the radiator did work, it couldn't prevent us from getting a cold. Water from the shower cabin leaked onto the bathroom floor, which was always cold, and the door to the bathroom could only open halfway without a serious push, due to bad fitting. The room was the tinyiest that we have ever experienced. But it was very clean and fresh, so we were happy anyway. Bathroom was newly restored and in really good condition. "Helt ok standar, sentralt"
Hotellet ligger svært sentralt i Queensway,men var vanskelig og oppdage blant alle gatekjøkkene. Da vi ankom bedrev hotellet oppussing i oppgangen (noe det ikke så ut som) så vi ble noe skeptiske til hvordan resten ville være da vi hadde lest litt forskjellige anmeldelser på forhånd. Vi spurte om å få kikke på rommet før vi betalte, og det fikk vi lov […] til. Etter å ha gløttet på døren konstanterte vi at det så helt greit ut. Rommet er lite, senga var svært hard (slipper å ligge lenge om morgenen, ut å nyte byen), hårføner virket ikke, aircondition virket ikke, og ønsket man å se på fjernsynet kunne en betale et depositum for å få låne fjernkontrollen. Badet var veldig bra, men renholdet kunne vært bedre. Rene håndklær hver dag. Mye støy fra gata utenfor, og det er forholdsvis lytt på hotellet. Frokosten som er inkludert var svært enkel og må ikke legges vekt på ved valg av hotell. Beliggenheten kan en ikke klage på da en ligger 5 min gange fra Hyde park og nær tub'en Queensway og Bayswater. Så leter en etter hotell til rimelig penge, helt ok standar og god beliggenhet er dette et greit alternativ.
