Hotel needs major repairs: first day they put us in the room smelled like mold and so dirty that I wanted wash my hands AFTER I washed my hands. But after I asked to move us they did very next day and room was much better (BEST room in hotel as they presented to us). I will give 2 stars for this room (first one was -5). "Tight budget hotel"
First and foremost - London is EXPENSIVE! By reading the other reviews I knew that Hotel St. Simeon was not the most luxurious place but we'd get a good deal. For me, my husband, and two children the hotel was good for our needs. It was conveniently located: about a five minute walk away for the Gloucester Rd. Underground stop on the Piccadilly line […] - a straight shot from Heathrow Airport and central to all of London. The neighborhood was very elegant, safe, and clean. We arrived at midnight and felt safe as we walked from the Underground station to the hotel. We also received a much appreciated warm welcome after a long day. The room was large enough for the four of us but it was just a basic room - four beds, a little wardrobe and a bathroom. It is definitely in need of a facelift but we had clean sheets and a warm bed, so we were thankful. The bathroom needed a new shower curtain because water was going all over the bathroom when we showered. For breakfast a lot of food was available and contrary to other reviews, fruit was not pushed at us. The serving ladies were all very nice and accommodating. Overall, we would recommend this hotel to families/people on a tight budget who are going to London to be out and about and not staying in the hotel. While the family/owners were attentive during our stay, the place seemed "shady." It didn't look or feel clean. The building was rundown, the wifi spotty, and numerous other issues. I would recommend this hotel for its location and friendly staff, however the accomodation standards are poor. If you are visiting London for a couple of days, are on a budget and don't mind hostel-type accomodation and don't intend to spend much time in the hotel, it will be fine. Pros: 1. Close to Gloucester Road tube station, Picadilly and Circle […] Lines. Only one tube ride home from West End. 2. Located in Knightsbridge, a very safe area 3. My daughter and I were upgraded from a double to a triple room at no extra cost. 7. The other travellers we met were all very friendly. Cons: 1. The room smelt damp 2. The single bed was so lumpy that my daughter and I shared the double bed. This was our original plan as we had only booked a double room so we weren't upset by this. 3. The room desperately needed a refurb - the toilet cistern lid was broken; the wooden veneer on the tv stand/cupboard was warped stood a couple of inches above the the top it was supposed to be attached to; and although the bathroom was clean, it had black mould growing in the corners. 4.There was no hot water in the mornings for a shower. Något lyhört. Personalen var trevlig och hjälpsam, de gick omkring i mysbyxor, så man kände sig som en gäst i deras hem. Nous étions une famille avec 3 enfants. Accueil sympathique et nous avons bénéficié d'une grande chambre 6 places avec une petite armoire. Nuits très calmes et lieu très facile d'accès en bus ou métro sur la ligne intercité ou le bus 74 qui mène direct en centre ville. Quartier cossu et très propre, grand supermarché à 2 pas. Nous sommes ravis de notre […] séjour. A savoir, la sdb était toute petite et à 5 c'est pas forcément évident. Il faut faire abstraction de la déco dans l'hôtel très kitch et poussiéreuse. Le petit dej est copieux MAIS café imbuvable, jus d'orange coupé à l'eau, nourriture 1er prix.... Des fruits à profusion mais ne semblent pas de 1ere fraicheur... en fin de compte pas très appétissant.... l'odeur de Bacon était prenante jusque dans les couloirs des chambres....Bon les enfants étaient repus et partaient pour la journée de marche le ventre plein. Les chambres étaient refaites tous les jours mais pas de grand ménage. ça reste propre! Nous avons fait abstraction de tout cela. La situation est quand même idéale et le tarif est correct. Vi var fem personer och bodde två nätter i två familjerum med sängplats för tre stycken. Trots att bara jag och min dotter bodde i ett rum var det trångt. I det andra rummet där en vuxen och två tonåringar huserade var det problem med väskor och ytterkläder eftersom det inte fanns någonstans att stoppa undan eller hänga upp. Lite i minsta laget alltså. […] Men sängarna var riktigt bra och dusch och vattentryck i rum 4 var mycket bra med engelska mått mätt :). Personalen är mycket vänlig och tjänstvillig. I matsalen gäller dock sträng disciplin då det är mycket trångt: man sitter stilla på sin plats, men å andra sidan blir man väl uppassad. Frukosten är helt ok och tillgången på frukt är obegränsad och man uppmanas att komma och ta när man vill.:) Läget är bra, två kvarter bort ligger tunnelbanan på Cloucester Road. Jättetrevlig personal som verkligen ville oss väl och fixade med allt vi sa till om. Läget är strålande med nära till Undergroundstationerna Gloucester road och Earls Court vilket gör att du rör dig smidigt åt alla håll i London. L'hotel è situato in una zona tranquilla, a 5 minuti a piedi dalla fermata della metro di Glouchester road e a 10 minuti da Earl's Court. Abbiamo alloggiato in una camera da 4 persone collocata nel seminterrato, composta di due letti singoli e di un letto ad una piazza e mezza che per l'occasione era diventato un letto matrimoniale. La stanza era piccola […] e stretta, dotata di tv e di una finestra di difficile apertura che dava allo scantinato. Il bagno era di dimensioni adatte alla semplice sopravvivenza, ma privo di moquette, e già provvisto di asciugamani che venivano prontamente cambiati ogni giorno. Di per sè la stanza non era un gran che, ma veniva sistemata ogni giorno. La colazione è super abbondante, in stile inglese, viene servita al tavolo e ogni 2 secondi passa il gestore a offrire dolci, frutta, caffè... Può essere che le tazze non siano tutte dello stesso servizio, e che sia necessario condividere il tavolo con altri turisti. I gestori sono gentilissimi, ed estremamente disponibili, e l'entrata dell'hotel è aperta 24ore su 24. E' un buon compromesso qualità prezzo per i turisti che hanno spirito di adattamento ed è più che accettabile per chi visita la città tutto il giorno e sfrutta la camera solo per dormire.
