The Grand Royale Hyde Park London represents a perfect hotel for a seasoned traveler. Anyone expecting bespoke customer service and a room the size of an American Holiday Inn should look elsewhere. However, if you are seeking prime location, unique and historical building, modern and clean rooms, with very fair pricing (just under a hundred a night […] for a 'single) and adequately friendly staff - this is the place. The rooms are 'tight' for someone not used to staying in an older/vintage city hotel room (much like NYC or Chicago). The rooms are clean, quiet and safe. I loved the remodeled bathroom (which was quite roomy). Two tube stops (Bayswater and Queensway) are within one block, not to mention the bus lines, and less than 2 blocks to a Barclays Bicycle stand (truly the best way to get around Hyde Park and the rest of London if you are comfortable). "Nice, Clean, and Convenient!"
Yes, the rooms are small. Once you get used to the fact that most European hotel rooms are small, you will love this hotel. The wood paneling in the lobby and staircase is outstanding. The wifi, a necessity for us, worked well. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom contained a shower/tub combo (with HOT water!), toilet, and a large bowl sink. […] There are two underground stations nearby: Queensway and Bayswater. There are souvenir shops and restaurants on the way to the underground stations (skip the expensive hotel breakfast!). The hotel location is close to underground and near city center, and there are plenty of quick and inexpensive eateries just around the corner. "Grand Royale London Hyde Park ..... perfect."
We loved the balcony which allowed us to have fresh air at night, see the morning sun and dry some clothing. The location next to the parks made it easy to get exercise and catch public transportation. We did not eat any of the meals there, although they looked and smelled delicious. The single room in the hotel was on the ground floor in the corner - a very small room (had 3 steps to get to the bed!) but it was clean, the bed was comfy. "great location poor maintanance"
Original room 309 had problem with basin waste draining slowly. When we reported this we were asked if this was our first stay which was a strange question. When we said yes we were told it would get dealt with.Would it have been if this was not our first stay.When we returned later that evening the problem had not been resolved. When we went to reception […] we were immediately offered another room and even shown two rooms to choose from, excellent service. The choice of tube stations makes this an excellent location to stay in and is close to Hyde park and even Oxford street can be walked to in about 30 mins. Jag och min flickvän stannade här över en weekend. Jag tycker att hotellet var mycket bra och vi hade den turen att bli uppgraderade till club room istället för deluxe room. Rummet som vi fick var väldig bra, perfekt yta för 2 och sängen var jätte skön. "Grand Royale London Hyde Park - skønt lille hotel"
Var på dette hotel i starten af december 2010 med min søster i forbindelse med en 4-dages shoppetur. Vi gik fra hotellet kl. 9 om morgenen og kom hjem sent om aftenen, så det var ikke mange timer vi opholdt os på værelset, men vi havde alligevel prioriteret at få et hotel/værelse, hvor der var rent og pænt - og det skal jeg love for, at vi fik. Skønt […] lille værelse med 8 trin ned fra døren til værelset og ned til sengen/badeværelset. Flot nyrenoveret badeværelse. God seng. Eneste lille minus var, at der var under ½ meter fra sengen til vinduet og det trak lidt om natten, men ellers et meget meget hyggeligt hotel. Vi havde ikke booket morgenmad, men spiste på hotellet én morgen - flot spisestue og ok morgenmad, lidt dyr.... Meget tæt på Bayswater st. og Queensway st., men på ingen måde generende. Hotellet var kjempe fint. Lå kun 2min gange fra tbanen og bussholdeplassen. Tok oss ca.10 til Marble Arch. Lobbyen på hotellet var helt nydelig. Flotte utskjæringer, malerier og belysning. De ansatte var veldig hyggelige, og servicen var veldig bra. Vi visste at rommene var små, og ble ekstra skeptiske da vi ble fortalt at vi hadde rom i kjelleren... […] Rommet var lite, men kjempe flott utssendemessig. Planløsningen var kjempe bra, og vi hadde "god" plass på et lite rom. Behagelig seng, flatskjerm på veggen, kjøleskap, klesskap, aircondition, nydelig bad med dusj/badekar. Veldig moderne. Hadde utsikt rett i en murvegg, men det gjorde oss ingenting da gardinene var for uansett. Otroligt charmigt och genuint hotell. Man slås direkt av detta i den snygga lobbyn. Rummet var inte särskilt stort, men väldigt snyggt och fräscht, nyligen renoverade som det såg ut, otroligt skön säng. Städningen var riktigt bra skött. Lite knarriga golv under heltäckningsmattorna, men det var en bagatell i det annars perfekta rummet.
